Has Particracy affected your political viewpoints?

Postby PaleRider » Sun Jul 24, 2016 1:55 am

I've been playing this game off and on for the past 4+ years now and I'm not going to lie, its been a fun time altogether but i think on a deeper level the game has changed my political views and understandings, to some extent. When i first came to Zardugal in 2012, i was a hard charging, right wing, Tea Party Republican but since then i have moderated much and more (though i do remain a deeply socially conservative individual). Through playing the game itself (our current version is an excellent political model tbh) i have changed my views on politics work, on how it should work, and what i can expect. Granted a lot more has happened outside the game as well that has shaped my views as they stand today but i cannot deny the game has affected me.

Can anyone else say the same?
Political Affiliation~ GOP (US)
Pro: Liberal Conservatism, Paleo-liberalism, Chicago Capitalism, social conservatism, neoconservative
Anti: leftist, multiculturalism, Islamic radicalism
Currently the Zardic People's Party
Starring as Wiendonia in NS

I can't say I've changed fundamentally because of the game, but I've noticed political issues that I hardly knew about before. I did however change slightly on foreign policy (to a more neocon position) after discussions with Amazeroth here where he was simply more knowledgeable than me.

The post and the poll ask 2 different questions. My views have shifted heavily to the Left over the period of time I have played Particracy, but I can't honestly say that my views have been affected by Particracy or the community.
Check out my latest Particracy project, and feel free to discuss it in the forums.
