Why can't we vote for William Henry Harrison, the dude who died after a month in office from pneumonia that he got because he idiotically gave a 2 and a half hour long inauguration speech in the rain in March?

Agreed- here on both counts- the ACA wasn't even the "best we could do" it was the "best we could do for the insurance industry." The Government delivered them 30 million new patients, based upon the tacit agreement that Insurance companies would do something about bending the curve on premium increases to a negative slope. And what did Insurance companies do? Once we got invested in the law, they fucking jacked up premiums, claiming that participation in the "markets" was no longer cost effective. And then they allowed the politicians to basically destabilize the government over it.

So to hell with the ACA. It was corporate welfare for the insurance industry, and nothing more.

I say Ronald Reagan, his ideological belief in the free market and the strength of the free world brought about the end of social democratic darkness in Europe and America. Not to mention his role in winning the cold war and his outstanding relations with Margaret Thatcher.

The most scarriest sentence in the English language is "Hi, I'm from the government and i'm here to help"

THE COLD WAR IS NOT OVER!!! The West found yet another way to annoy Russia. The Cold War started after the Great Northern War and Russia went onto the international arena in the XVIII century and is still going on in the present day.

I think it's amazing how Reagan explained away trading arms for hostages with Iran:

A few months ago I told the American people I did not trade arms for hostages. My heart and my best intentions still tell me that's true, but the facts and the evidence tell me it is not.

Could any other politician have gotten away with that?!!
