It seems a bit unnecessary, and a bit distasteful considering its in a German-themed country.
I don't want people thinking that Dundorf is endorsing national socialism because we certainly are not.

J94CK,

Moderation has discussed and stands by its previous decision (linked by Siggon above) to allow usernames such as the one you have pointed out, in an effort to allow political opinions to be expressed. This is, after all, a political game.

The name "adolfhitler123" in general is not banned, but if the player were to engage in OOC hatred he would have broken the rules. Simply for the sake of not setting a precedent - if we ban "Hitler," should we ban "Mussolini?" "Stalin?" One man's enemy is another man's hero. So long as the player does not insult other players out of character, he has not broken the rules.

In any case, it seems that the user has not logged in since he created his party; he may go inactive in 4 days, as many new parties do.

Thank you for your understanding.

TheNewGuy

I want to ask legality of use of symbols that has been associated with Nazism, because as we know they are banned in Germany.

They've been used before Jack, and they'll continue to be used. There's not problem with using those symbols if its for an educational and purely academic reason, which some might consider this. If not, as long as he/she isn't using it as blatant, I don't see any problems.

Good point.
There's a game called "Supremacy 1914" that is somewhat based on WW1. They banned reference to Nazism because they're based in Germany and those things are illegal. You can't use Nazi flags, Nazi avatars, or even mention certain names - this applies to both the game and the forums.

I don't think Particracy is based in Germany...

Even it is not based in Germany, use of that material makes it illegal to participate in the game and forums for German players, at least i assume that.

I don't have a problem with them but usage of illegal content can be a problem for German players.

Since the various laws concerning nazi symbols (andof other irrevocably forbidden organisations in Germany) are only relevant in the countries forbidding them, it would be wrong to describe them as illegal content per se. A German (or Austrian, for that matter) might get into trouble for using them, but not for playing a game where they are used by others. Also, their uses are only foridden under certain circumstances, which might not necesarily present.

What do I do, here? (OOC discussion welcomed on the bill itself for non-Moderators)
http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=379651

So, I ask Moderation:

Will someone else need to take on my obligations?
May I be able to do them myself? (Players could report me for malpractices)

If I was to do it myself, it would only involve record-keeping.
I understand that I couldn't set anything to vote.

Of course, there is always the option to invite someone to come and keep the system, but no-one has accepted such an offer so far.

So I have a question and a request both rolled into one. In Dorvik we have established a monarchy not too long ago. Before we changed over to a hereditary head of state we had an election where the current King was elected as the HoS. Since we changed the title of the HoS to include the name of the HoS it is a little awkward since his name appears twice, once in the HoS title and then as the HoS's actual name. My question is this, is it possible for moderation to change the HoS's name (not title just name) to "." so that their name doesn't appear twice?

This would make succession easier since I don't know how succession to a new monarch would work since the old monarch's name would still appear. I am not sure of my ability to change to an elected HoS temporarily, have an early election where all the parties use "." as their candidate (i don't know if I could convince them to use "."). I am the controller of the Royal House (my party in Dorvik is the Königliche Partei Dorvik, I instituted the monarchy with the support of the other parties at the time) so I can give my full consent to the change if that is necessary.

If moderation is unable to make the change then I understand, I was just curious and trying to get a little help so I could avoid some annoying hoops.

Maximus: We cannot make the change that you are requesting. You will have to do some variant of what you said, the monarchists of Particracy have long debated over what method is best in this circumstance. You can open the election and have everyone run ".", you could have the HoS be an openly elected representative of the monarch (so something like a title of "Elected representative of His Majestic Highness Wilhelm XI, Governor" and then the HoS that is elected will be named, or you could run an election every time you need to do a succession.

SiggonKristov: Moderation is still discussing your request. Please bear with us as we decide how to move forward.

Thanks for the update.
