Income Tax + Employment Bug

Postby MrJolly » Mon Apr 25, 2016 9:45 pm

Hey,
In the country there is currently 0 people in work out of the hundreds of thousand of people who can word.
There is, due to this, no income tax coming in and therefore no sales tax either. Is this a glitch or something that can be rectified in-game?

Here's the economics page, thanks

The economics aspect of the game was never fully completed, so across the game you will find all sorts of incongruities like the one you just pointed out. Vorona is one of a handful of nations with a broken budget.

Since development work on Particracy Classic has come to an end, we are not expecting these issues to be fixed anytime soon.

Well get to work!! This game could seriously be the most popular simulation game if you guys make updates and include alot of new things. Maybe create a suggestion thing? Do you guys need more money or what to update?

Reddy & I just moderate the game on behalf of the owner/designer, Wouter Lievens. Wouter ceased development work on Particracy Classic several years back, so we are unlikely to see any significant changes. However, Wouter is working on a new version of Particracy, knows as "Particracy Dev" or "Particracy 3". I do not really have any personal involvement with that at the moment, but if you would like more information, I recommend contacting Wouter at lievenswouter@gmail.com.

Calm down, check your attitude first off. I am going to have patience with you, and patience is something i barely show towards pushy people.

1. The game has not been updated in years. It would make no sense to update a game that could be seen as (sorry to say this guys) abandon ware. In recent years (Before I came), there was something called Particracy 2, which was supposed to be the sequel to this version, Particracy 1. Particracy 2, from i know has been removed due to development problems etc. The Game cannot be updated as it is, you must remember, the creator of particracy is not a game development company that can hire masses of people to work on maintenance whilst pumping out updates on a monthly basis. It is one person, assisted by two sub-operating individuals, that being the moderators, Aquinas and Reddy. Mr. Lievens, although he visits from time-to-time, cannot do anything to update the game. As i said before, it makes no sense at all to update Abandon ware.

2. Everyday people like Aquinas and Reddy have to bite the bullet in order to make everyone's experience here worth the while. There is only so much they can do. How is see your stance towards the absence of updates to the game is someone who plays a lot of console games and steam games. (Correct me if I am wrong). Once again, I go back to the point I made in (1), particracy is not run by a Game Development Company, like Bethesda and Ubisoft. It is run by three people who have to work with the resources they have at their disposal. Nothing more, nothing less.

Well then clearly arrogance and anti-intellectualism is your driving force. All we are trying to do here is assist you by answering your questions the only ways we know how to. If you can't appreciate anything not even the effort being pushed out by the people around here to create things out of little resources it's best you go back to what ever video game you occupied yourself with before you stumble upon this part of the Vinyard. To take it a step further you are lucky we have people like Aquinas and Reddy who have patience to deal with people of your mind set. It would have been a much different result if it were me. So you having an in ability to appreciate anything is like you said "Not my problem".

If you have a problem with the people here, I see no problem with you retreating to whatever corner of the Internet you came from. If your going to be disrespectful and inconsiderate do it somewhere else but not here the people here are way too kind to be receiving such disrespect in light of casting their hands to assist you. Leave that for the COD servers.

Much Love.

Aquinas shut this discussion down please.

Since the original report has already been responded to, this thread is being locked.

As our more experienced players know, programming work on Particracy Classic ended several years back. It was never developed to the extent that was originally planned, but despite its limitations - and I appreciate there are limitations - it remains, at least in my view, by far the most exciting online player game on the internet. Many of us, including myself, are enormously grateful to Wouter Lievens for the game he has given us, and for the role he continues to play in terms of making it available to us.

I personally find it unsurprising that some players, very naturally, come to this game, see its obvious potential and express their hopes for further development. It can be frustrating for them to learn that some parts are not working and that development has stopped. As a Moderator, I see this all the time, and I'm sure previous Moderators did too.

But what I would like to emphasise here is the positive story of how so many of us - players & Moderators - are doing our best to make the best of Particracy Classic that we possibly can. It is the people who make the game what it is; the actual game interface and the game mechanics are just one part of the story. We can make Particracy Classic even better than it already is - and I believe we are.
