Prime Minister DuMaurier says she is "Optimistic" About Peaceful Solution to Beitneyu

In the wake of a failed war declaration against Beitneyu, the government of that country has reached out to the Prime Minister of Alduria, Catherine DuMaurier, in order to try to resolve the situation peacefully. The war was proposed in order to end Beitneyuese government oppression of women, and ethnic and religious minorities. This state sanctioned discrimination reached from areas such as the military to economic and civil rights. One of Alduria's more activistic and less labor focused leftist parties, the Coalition of Progressive Aldurians, suggested the declaration of a 'humanitarian war on Beitneyu.

However, the war proposal failed, and after about a year of silence from Beitneyu's largely secretive and autocratic government, a new President, David Stern, contacted DuMaurier out of the blue, again renewing the invitation to Beitneyu. Ostensibly, any conference or meeting held will include discussions about how Beitneyu must change its approach to women's issues and minority rights.

It is for certain that Diane Babette, of the Communist Party, will accompany Prime Minister DuMaurier in her official capacity as Foreign Minister. Additionally, it is likely that a special request will be granted to Environmental Minister Chloe Doyle, who was very concerned about the visit, to tag along.

Of the likely trip, Prime Minister DuMaurier told reporters:
I really believe that the trip is highly important to our relations with Beitneyu, but far more pressingly, as an opportunity to try to create a dialogue with the government of Beitneyu about how they could potentially improve their human rights status, and what we would need to do to make their international behavior 'socially acceptable' as it were. That being said, I have had all courteous exchanges thus far with David Stern, and I am only optimistic at this point. You'll be updated when we get back.

The Anarchist Earthquake!

Postby Cracov » Wed Aug 17, 2016 6:52 am

The AA win 77 seats!

Steptember 4075 - An earthquake in the political establishment. 10,230,325 votes were cast for the AA - almost double the votes for Démocrates de Gauche. Lola Pernet has issued her first statement after the election:

What a fantastic night. There's now a real possibility we can stop being brought into a war. We can work towards freedom & we can say to both DG and the communists that capes, masks and tights have won. We've tore a hole right through the establishment and created a movement for social change. A smaller, less involved government and a stronger more powerful populace!

Anarchisme est la liberté!
Thank you!

CPA STOMPS ON ELECTION RIVALS; BECOMES SECOND LARGEST PARTY

The Coalition of Progressive Aldurians added 79 seats to its bank today with an unprecedented election blowout. The fast-growing CPA finished third in the presidential election, but failed to make it to the runoff round. Assembly CPA Leader Chloé Doyle spoke on television media following the elections:

Today is a victory for progressives and another bad election for the establishment. We can get grassroots reform through! And we have to. It's time we work on a more liberal nation. Labor reform will be achieved. Health reform will be achieved. A socially liberal country is possible with these election results.

PRP Leader Resigns, Vespassien to lead Party

Postby ComradeGrif » Thu Aug 18, 2016 1:48 am

Following a catastrophic loss for the Aldurian left in the recent election, many comrades of the PRP are beginning to lose hope. Among these pessimists is the (Former) leader of the PRP, Irène Colbert. Comrade Colbert recently announced her resignation, and a vote was held among the party legislate that resulted in electing Vespassien Masson to be the new leader of the communist party. Masson is known for his fiery temperament, radical politics, and especially his dislike for the anarchists, who he sees as a traitor to the leftist ideal.

Comrade Masson gave a speech the following day, giving many members of the party a new hope for the future of the revolution. Vespassien appointed his sister, Aurélie Masson, as the new party whip. During this speech, he condemned the Anarchist party, as well as the CPA, which came as a shock to some. However, he praised the DdG on their efforts to further communism within Alduria.

These events seem to point towards a radical and uncertain future for the communist party...

Communist Kick Out

Postby Cracov » Sat Aug 20, 2016 7:58 pm

Communists Kicked Out of Cabinet!

After successful discussions the Liberals, Nationalists and Anarchists have formed a Cabinet. This adds 3 Anarchists attending the national assembly - with 5 in total. The members are shown below:

Leader - Lola Pernet
Deputy Leader & Spokesperson - Joël Baillieu
Minister of Defence - François Souchon
Minister of Science & Technology - Aurélie Haillet
Minister of Environment & Tourism - Océane Rouzet

With this cabinet being formed the Communist, Democrat & Progressives have been left seatless, somewhat reflecting the public's divide in recent years. People are not only divided over policy but also over party. The massive swing in votes has left the Democrats and Communists struggling to have any sufficient power in the assembly compared to being one of the main parties 10 years ago.

The massive swings in recent years have had a very questionable impact with some saying politics is now reaching out to more people while others say it is dividing so many families and friends.

Lola Pernet Interview

Postby Cracov » Sat Aug 27, 2016 9:00 am

Lola Pernet Interview

We recently interviews the AA Leader, Lola Pernet, asking her of her opinions on recent issues.

Firstly, how do you feel on your election results so far?

"I believe we are doing very well. We are receiving many more seats than the Democrats and currently have a very large say in decisions. We received the most votes in 2 of the 5 regions. Sadly many people have put their trust into the Communists at the most recent election."

Speaking of the PVA, or communists as you call them - both your and their party are classed as radical yet you agree on very few things - why do you think this is the case?

"To put it simply... we listen to the views of people. We want to increase the freedoms we have, not reduce them. We support democracy on a local scale while the 'PVA' support anti-democratic policies and values. We have voted against their proposals because let's be honest - we seek different things. My party wants the current system to be abolished while the Communists want it to beneit them."

You're members do not attend the assembly, do you plan to chance party policy on this?

"Yes actually. Due to our high numbers from October 4080 all members will attend the assembly to show the true power of our ideology."

Lastly, your party colours are black and white, what does this reprent?

"The white represents pacifism while the black represents radical anarchist change. We believe in a peaceful anarchist revolution. After all guns are, in my opinion, more powerful if they are not shot".

Thanks for your time Ms Pernet, it has been really interesting.

"Thank you."

PVA Purges religious officials after rally

Postby ComradeGrif » Wed Aug 31, 2016 9:45 pm

Hello comrades, and welcome to tonight's episode of PVAN! (PVA News)
At a recent rally in Vudreuil, Val Zanya, the location of PVA headquarters, and a city that heavily favors the PVA, a rally was held in which many things were brought up. The honorable comrade and president Vespassien Masson announced a new campaign to promote the party. He urged all supporters of radical communism to make posters themselves to spread across their cities, rather than an organized effort from the party.

A controversial event that was brought up in this rally was the rumors that religious party leaders had been purged from the party. He stated that this was true. Many of the party internal affairs delegates, the ones who determine party actions, have been banned from the party. Most left to join the DdG or CPA.

This is evidence of the "Vespassienist shift", or the shift to more radical communism among the PVA.

Comrade Vespassien stated that he also eventually wanted to see the total destruction of the "juvenile" as he called it, anarchist ideology. While he commended the AA's shift to Anarcho Syndicalism, he stated that the philosophy of anarchism itself is impractical and anti-progress.

Well, that's all for tonight comrades, this has been your host, Athénaïs Antonin, signing off.

Helöise Descolinnes Dies
Image
August 24 4088
The morning of August 15th at 9:45 AM, Former Prime Minister Heloise Descolinnes was found dead by her husband in bed at their home in Falesie, Arcogne. She had evidently been undergoing treatments for an aggressive form of breast cancer, an issue which had been kept quiet by the Descolinnes family, but was speculated by some as the loyal DdG Chairwoman and former Prime Minister stepped back from public appearances at her previous frequent rate. Madame Descolinnes was born in 4016, and became involved in Démocrates de Gauche, Alduria's traditional social democratic labour party at its foundation. As a Prime Minister, the office she served in 4058-4070, she led the movement to rejoin the Seleyan Union, pushed social welfare efforts, led a successfull struggle against a paleoconservative and nationalist party, and became a well respected figure across all aisles of politics in Alduria.

Prime Minister Descolinnes is survived by her son Chrétien, and her daughters Emmeline and Nöel. In her will she left the use of her image to the Démocrates de Gauche and the "disenfranchised and needy groups throughout Terra". Her funeral was held at Chapelle du Rois in Aldur this morning, with many dignitaries in attendance

Alliance Anarchiste (AA) Reformed

Postby Cracov » Sat Sep 24, 2016 4:03 pm

AA Reformed as of December 4094

The Anarchists have reformed under new leadership and a cabinet. Their message? "Let's get serious about our party and political ideology"

From what we know, the new leader Côme Hébras attended university in Falesie where he studied politics & international studies and is aged 29.

The new leader, Côme Hébras, has released a statement to mark this day:
Today's the day we wage war on both left and right. It's time we make a real statement of what anarchism is. Let's work progressively to make a lasting mark on Alduria. We'll be campaigning harder and longer than before, we'll be working in communities to tackle homelessness, poverty and social exclusion with the message -' this system doesn't work'. The recent rise in the belief of an aggressive military is the most scariest development in recent years which we'll work hard to correct.

2nd July, 4096 - AA Victory

Following a successful election campaign of the Anarchist Alliance under the new Côme Hébras's leadership, the AA is now the largest party with 157 seats. Following this historic win, Côme released a statement:
We did it. We've successfully proven that with an organised campaign our party can go places. We were voted in by over half of the people of two separate achievement. I thank all activists who reached out to voters and got our MPs elected, now it's our turn to get real change in Alduria.

Although not proven, it's likely Mr Hébras will cooperate with any of the parties as long as they respect his party, his parties beliefs, and his parties members. He says:
I plan to keep my options open. Although we have had disagreements with parties in the past, we are willing to work with them. If possible I'll seek to form a government with as many parties as possible to make sure that Alduria is properly represented.

He has also congratulated Marcel Laetitia, saying their party defiantly one that deserves respect and "has real purpose in Alduria".
