With the ascension of King Tutimaios to the Imperial Esinsundu throne, the position of Great Farin was left vacant. The Royal Democratic Organisation(RDO), the ruling party in Talmoria held an emergency party meeting to determine the next party leader and thus the next Great Farin. However, there was one man who dominated the whole process and that man is Teleola Mbanefo. Mbanefo served as acting Great Farin while the the Emperor and Empress were abroad in Cobura. He was the first choice of many party heads and was widely considered to the most qualified for the position. Mbanefo will join his Hawu and Coburan counterparts in Neuhaus to discuss issues pertinent to the newly established Empire.

Neuhaus, Talmoria - Several days after being publicly challenged by Hawu President Chapman, Great Farin Mbanefo has responded:
I have approved the transfer of 25,000 Talmoria soldiers from home bases to Imperial bases in Hawu Mumenhes. Talmorian troops will aid in the defense of Hawu Mumenhes. If needed, Talmoria will commit even more men. We are just as committed to the Empire's value and defense as the other kingdoms. My government will also participate in the imperial embargo and naval blockade of Malivia and Likatonia as we are deeply concerned and disturbed with the events in those countries. Our only battleship the Naeevan will assist Hawu and Coburan ships in the blockades. Talmoria will also commit its transport ships to the blockade. Talmoria does not possess great military capabilities like the other kingdoms, but we certainly have heart.

Neuhaus, Talmoria - Tonight candles were lit in the windows or every home and shop in the capital as news of Meteo Moore's execution at the hands of the East Artanian Corporation-controlled Malivia. Great Farin Mbanefo has responded to the situation:
After hearing about Mr. Moore's execution, it is evident that the current Malivian government does not care for the rights of the Esinsundu people who live there. In fact they do not care for anyone who is not Artanian. The regime is brutal and thuggish. They've killed and enslaved thousands, yet all of Terra is silent. Non of the great powers, with the exception of the Esinsundu Empire, has condemned or even acknowledged the brutal actions of the East Artanian regime in Malivia. The great powers are off campaigning for their Security Council seats, while thousands are slaughtered in the streets of Malivia. Where are Hutori and Istalia? Where are Luthori and Kalistan? Can we trust these countries to defend the sacred liberties of the global citizenry and lead the world in times of crisis if they can not even stop this? It seems like the Security Council seats are just another trophy for these countries. Is this what their vision of leadership looks like? They ought to be ashamed.

When I took office, I took a sacred oath to defend the liberties and life of the Talmorian and Esinsundu people. I am prepared to do that. Talmoria, in conjunction with our imperial brethren, has already imposed a naval blockade on Malivia and imposed sanctions on the East Artanian Corp. Now that I have the backing of His Imperial Majesty, Talmoria and the Empire are prepared to impose a no-fly zone over Malivia in order for our planes to deliver much needed supplies to common folk. We are also prepared to deliver humanitarian aid by sea to suffering Malivians and accept any refugees and transfer them to imperial territory where they will be safe from prosecution.

I also call on the East Artanian Corporation to leave Malivia and to allow home-rule with an elected government. I urge the East Artanian Corp to release all remaining, illegally-held prisoners. I speak on the behalf of the Emperor when I say that this is the East Artanian Corp.'s last chance to resolve this situation without bloodshed.

Neuhaus, Talmoria - Empress Moniade did not make public appearances for several months which fueled speculation of illness. However, the Empress was not ill but pregnant! Today, the Imperial Family announced the birth of their first child Princess Ieret. Princess Ieret is considered to be the heiress to the Esinsundu Imperial throne until the birth a male sibling. When asked about how children they were willing to have Emperor Saksoure VI did not give a direct answer but indicated that more children would be on the way. (4106)

Neuhaus, Talmoria - With the sinking of a Malivian ship and a possible escalation into armed military conflict, Great Farin Mbanefo has drafted a proposal to send more Talmorian troops Hawu to aid the Empire. Talmoria previously sent 25,000 soldiers to Hawu. The proposal is being debated by the country's legislature, the Gbara. Mbanefo's office issued a statement:
Talmoria will keep her promise to aid and defend the Empire and the Esinsundu people. The sinking of the Malivian ship was unfortunate and did not need to happen. However, we've warned the East Artanian Corp multiple times to relinquish their hold on power and yet they still refused. Now, Malivia is threatening to respond militarily, therefore the Empire must be ready to defend. This is why my government and I have submitted a request to the Gbara to authorize sending more troops to bases in Hawu. (Approx. 4107 to 4111. Contemporary with the conflict in Malivia)

Neuhaus, Talmoria - Excitement is in the air as the formation of a new opposition party was announced in the form of the National Republican Party (NRP). Talmoria has lacked a viable opposition party for some time as previous opposition parties did not poll high enough to make it to the national ballots. Additionally, the Royal Democratic Organization, the ruling party, has re-branded itself as the National Democratic Party. Party leader and current Great Farin explained it as:
The name change better reflects the party's values. It reflects our fight and struggle for democracy and contrasts sharply with our opponents who advocate for a communist republic. Already they've attempted to nationalize several industries and steal our people's economic freedom. We've tried socialism and communism in the past and it has failed miserably. Each attempt has resulted in a failed state and conflict in which our people suffered. Additionally, monarchy and democracy don't have to be mutually exclusive, while I have yet to see a democratic communist state. (4111)

Neuhaus, Talmoria - The Palace has announced the second pregnancy of Empress Moniade. Reports say that the Empress felt ill while visiting Malivian refugees housed in Hawu. It was later revealed that this was a result of early morning sickness and the pregnancy. The Empress will return to the palace, cutting her visit to Hawu short, in order to rest. Emperor Saksoure VI, however, will stay in Hawu and meet with refugees and learn how to better aid them. (4111. Contemporary with the conflict in Malivia)

Great Farin Hits the Campaign Trail
November 5th, 4114

Konsiga, Harisani - Great Farin Mbanefo is in the Harisanese provincial capital of Konsiga today to campaign on behalf of his party the National Democratic Party (NDP). The NDP's predecessor, the RDO, has historically done poorly in the province. The Great Farin is anticipating a tough general election in March and is attempting to hold on to as many seats as possible in the Gbara(legislature). Some analysts believe that 15 years of NDP majority rule can end in March due the strong, unexpected challenge from the left in the form of the National Republic Party. However, the Great Farin himself has remained confident that his party would retain it majority and the Great Farinate:
This is not our first election. We've done well in past elections when the odds were stacked against us. This year will be no different. My party and I have done much for Talmoria and the Empire. Our industrial sector has improved immensely since my party took power and the people are better off as a result. Talmorians have more money than they did a decade ago, have better access to education and health care, and they are more secure. I think the voters realize this and will vote for the better of the two parties.

March 4115

Neuhaus, Talmoria - In an unexpected turn of events, the newbie National Republic Party(NRP) won the 4115 election in a landslide victory. The NRP ended 15 years of National Democratic(NDP) dominance in the Gbara and the executive offices. Many expert analyst and pundits were expecting the NDP to lose many seats in the Gbara but thought the NDP could maintain its majority. However, the NRP won 75 of the 125 seats up for grabs giving the NRP the clear majority and mandate. The NRP's goal is to replace the monarchy of Talmoria with a republic but came up short of the required super majority of 84 seats.

Great Farin Teleola Mbanefo officially conceded the election to Ms. Lisa Reyson, the leader of the NRP, tonight. He gave the following concession speech to supporters gathered outside of the NDP headquarters in Neuhaus:
I have just called Ms. Reyson to congratulate her on her victory. Her supporters and her campaign also deserve congratulations. This is a time of great challenges for Talmoria, and I pray that Ms. Reyson will be successful in guiding our nation. I trust that her intellect and her hard work and her commitment to principle will to contribute to the good of our nation.

I want to thank Mousa Sanago and the dedicated campaign team he led on our behalf. They have made an extraordinary effort, not just for me but also for the country that we love. And to you here tonight and to the team across the country — the volunteers, the fundraisers, the donors, the surrogates — I don't believe that there's ever been an effort in our party that can compare with what you have done over these past years. Thank you so very much. Thanks for all the hours of work, for the calls, for the speeches and appearances, for the resources and for the prayers.

You gave deeply from yourselves and performed magnificently, and you inspired us and you humbled us. You've been the very best we could have imagined.
The nation, as you know, is at a critical point. At a time like this, we can't risk partisan bickering and political posturing. Our leaders have to reach across the aisle to do the people's work. And we citizens also have to rise to the occasion. We look to our teachers and professors. We count on you not just to teach, but to inspire our children with a passion for learning and discovery.

I ran for office because I'm concerned about Talmoria and believed that I was the best suited to lead it into a new era. This election is over, but our principles endure. I believe that the principles upon which this nation was founded are the only sure guide to a resurgent economy and to a new greatness.
I so wish — I so wish that I had been able to fulfill your hopes to lead the country. But the nation chose another leader. And so my party and I join with you to earnestly pray for her and for this great nation.

Thank you, and may Akim bless Talmoria. You guys are the best. Thank you so much. Thank you. Thanks, guys.
- Former Great Farin Teleola Mbanefo

Mbanefo also announced that he would relinquish party leadership to Farin Asim Karimi. Karimi formerly served as Farin of Foreign Affairs, but now serves as Farin of the Interior. Karimi acknowledged the challenges his party faced, especially the perceived disconnect with voters. Karimi, who will most likely take on the role of opposition leader in the Gbara after the NRP cabinet is formed, will push for reforms and laws that Talmorians overwhelmingly support. He hopes that with new voter outreach strategies and a change in policies, the NDP can recapture its majority.

November 4117

Neuhaus, Talmoria - In early October of 4117, National Republic Party (NRP) leader and Great Farba Lisa Reyson used her party's majority in the Gbara to trigger an early election. Great Farba Reyson hoped that the NRP would be able to secure a super majority of 84 seats needed to change the constitution to create a new Talmorian republic. The main opposition party, National Democratic Party (NDP), condemned the move. The new Imperial Rights Group party remained largely silent on the matter.

NDP leader Asim Karimi traveled throughout the entire country campaigning for his party. Karimi's main goal was to prevent losing more seats to the NRP and to maintain the status quo in the Gbara. However, the NDP was delivered a surprise victory when the results of the 4117 special election came in. The NDP was not only able to maintain their current seats but managed to take 20 seats back from the NRP. The NRP's crushing defeat gave the NDP control of the Gbara and enough seats to form a new government. Asim Karimi is expected to assume the role as the 12th Great Farin of Talmoria in 4118 when the new cabinet takes office.

Talmorian Cable News Network (TCNN) reporter:

Oil production is at it's highest level ever recorded. Talmoria has been a historical big-exporter of oil, but technology from the other imperial states of Hawu Mumenhes and Cobura has allowed for increased production. Furthermore, Hawu and Cobura's demand for plastics has led to the rise of a small manufacturing sector in Talmoria. Talmorian factories now produce a large portion of plastic bobbles seen within the Esinsundu empire as well as the tires used by Coburan automobile companies. The success of the many, new factories have also given rise to a new middle class in Talmoria. Farin of Trade and Industry Afolabi Fagbure commented:
Just two decades ago over 90% of the population worked in low-wage agricultural jobs. Now with the prosperity of the oil companies and our newly established manufacturing sectors more people are employed in industry. I would say roughly 20% to 25% of the population are now employed in factories. These people are bringing in higher wages to their families and some families can even afford some of the goods produced in the factories. We, as a nation, are able to afford far more luxuries than we did before the Empire was formed by His Imperial Majesty. I do believe we are entering a new age of prosperity because of the Empire.

Lesako, Talmoria - The Great Farin Asimi Karimi, at the behest of His Imperial Majesty Saksoure VI, has introduced a landmark infrastructure bill in the Gbara(legislature). The bill would allocate an additional 121,000,000,000 TALs towards the construction of new roads and bridges as well as the maintenance of existing roads. Karimi's office released a statement in regards to the bill:

Our infrastructure, as it stands now, cannot meet the demands of our country's industrialization efforts. These roads will allow for quicker transportation of goods, ideas, and people throughout the country. For example, resources from the far flung villages in the Plateau can be transported to capital and other major cities where our factories reside. A modern infrastructure is needed for our country and economy to grow. This government is strongly in support of this bill as it is our belief that it will spur economic growth. We hope that our opponents, the NRP, will see the benefits of this bill and support it as well.

Pundits are saying that this bill is the cornerstone of Asim Karimi's legacy in this country. If he cannot secure his party's majority in the upcoming 4122 elections then the bill is essentially dead. The NDP is shifting the main issues of this election around the economic boom Talmoria has experienced under Mr. Karimi in hopes of using his popularity to secure more seats. Mr. Karimi himself has projected confidence in his party's fortunes this election cycle as the NRP has been largely dis unified after their ouster in 4117. They've failed to coalesce around a central party leader and their messaging towards voters has become very muddled. However, it is also important to note that the NDP believed their position was secure in 4115, but still lost their majority.

In other news from Lesako, the Talmorian Petrol Company has had their IPO today. The company is the first major Talmorian state-owned firm to have an IPO and is part of the government's greater effort to divest their holdings. On the first day, trading was delayed due to technical problems with the Global Stock Exchange(GSE). Officials in Aqqak, Hawu Mumnhes where the GSE is based later solved the problem and trading resumed. Despite technical problems and a relatively low closing value, the stock set a new record for trading volume of a Talmorian IPO. The IPO also ended up raising 300 billion TALs, making it the largest in Talmorian history thus far.
