Cildanian Broadcasting Corporation
Elections in Senate Adds 33 Seats to All Cildanian Majority
President Kanu faces no competition; re-elected

The political turmoil in the Republic of Cildania continues following a shock election deemed necessary by the All Cildania Party. In a surprise political move, Vice President Dr. Chidi Okafor called for a sudden election amid the rise of opponent political parties. Despite gains made by the fledgling new organizations to bite off some of the AC majority, no seats were won by any candidates by any of the four opposition parties and the All Cildanians were awarded a full parliamentary majority of 100 seats.

The fallout has been swift and bitter, ending the political revolution that had been sweeping Cildanian streets. Two opposition parties promptly folded in the aftermath of the election results, voters widely discrediting their lack of effort to inflect change into the current establishment and distrusting the untested waters of new politicians. Of the two remaining political parties, neither won any mandates from the public. Soldatkaren for Cildania managed a meager 33,000 votes and only 0.25% of the entire voting public. Despite their loss, the numbers are higher than the other official party remaining and makes them - in essence, but not fact - the opposition party. Party leader Aydl binAdoniim was quick to point to positives in the vote: "Although we would have wished for a better result, we understand that political opinions take time to formulate and look forward to working with the All Cildanians in the next five years to build a stronger, better defended Cildania."

Of no surprise was the re-election of President Ahamdi Kanu, who ran unopposed for the office of the President. For months, the Soldatkaren had stated that they planned on endorsing Kanu to their meager supporters and no candidates were put forward by any other political party. It would be a mistake to characterize the election as a win for either Kanu or his AC party; a miserable 12% of eligible voters came out to support him on election day. Even for a politician running unopposed, those numbers underline a stark disinterest in the current establishment.

It was a similar case in the Senate elections as well, where only 12 million of 74 million eligible voters came out. That 15% is the lowest in recent memory and severely debilitates the theory of a 'mandate by the people' for the All Cildania Party. Analysts are quick to point out large swaths of the public who are disengaged by the current party and looking for alternatives. So while the election result for the nascent opposition parties might not have gone their way yet, the potential is clearly in the electorate for change.

PLNQ Forms: Promises Proper Liberty

- Founders want the abolition of "phoney capitalism"
- Want a proper free market
- Lambasts government for ignoring Badaran crisis

Image
The leader of the newly formed PLNQ, Massimiljanu Ċalleja spoke in front of several thousand people who listened outside the Parlament ta 'Quildanja.

There's a new party in town. And one that is promising an end to the empty capitalists, in return for true free market prosperity. The Partit Libertarju Nazzjonali Quildanja, known more often by its abbreviated name the PLNQ, certainly will set Quildanja alight with its promise of true economic liberalism and an abandonment of the current Kaminskist policies that have been brought to the table by the leftist policies of the Liberty Party.

It has come at a time where Quildanja has failed to establish itself as a major player in Terra. The ruling parties have shunned the international community, and have followed a strictly isolationist view. Their disregard of the Badaran civil war is a prime demonstration of that. Despite Al'Badara lying just a few miles of water away from our nation, the government has not made any reference to the long lasting conflict that has occurred there.

But not any more. The PLNQ, led by Massimiljanu Ċalleja, and the brothers Ġerihmyah and Kalċidon Maċillef, are adamant that Quildanja will become a prominent and active member of the international community once more. They have reassured the people of Quildanja that they will provide not just a domestic voice, but also an international one, as they lead Quildanja into greatness.

Perhaps their greatest aim is to reestablish Quildanja identity. Despite the Luthorian traitors within Parlament denouncing the return to a traditional name, our new hope remain determined that our culture shall be respected - including by those who govern us. Undoubtedly, this is their crowning jewel in their manifesto. The people of this fine nation are strong patriots, and it must be suspected that the communists that currently dictate proceedings within Parlament shall soon be overthrown for a fair and liberal Quildanja.

Massimiljanu Ċalleja stood outside the parliament building when making his speech about the formation of the party. Despite the police present, set up by government officials, concerned about the gathering outside the chambers, he spoke to a large crowd about the vision that the PLNQ have for Quildanja, and how they wish to give power back to the people.

Honourable Quildari, right now, crooks within that Parlament building discuss the possibilty of a rainbow cabinet between all three parties. This is treason against every single one of you. Those who voted for the Liberty Party wanted the Liberty Party in power, not the All Cildanian Party. Those who voted for the All Cildanian Party, wanted the All Cildanian Party in power, not the Coalition. And those who voted for the Coalition, wanted the Coalition in power,
and not the Liberty Party. Yet despite this, we see all three making a useless gesture of political friendship that will see an absence of reform occur in our once brilliant country.

My friends, I wish I could tell you that the government is at fault for. But nay. Should you look at those in power currently, do you see any capitalists? supporters of the free market? libertarians? No. They have tried to play you as fools. They have tried to dupe you. Their game is to hide their true communist political beliefs away from us, and turn us into a red state, like their friends in the disgraceful regime in Badara.

Ah. I see some of you turn your heads in confusion when I mention a regime in Badara. Yes, there has been a brutal civil war in Badara - in which those dastardly commies have quenched freedom, strangled liberty, and suffocated expression. And yet the government have neglected to mention this - despite these dangerous leftists bordering our own Quildanja. We need a government that stands up for you in an international environment. Who makes sure Quildanja is given the best treatment it can possibly have from other nations.

This is why I am pleased to announce the formation of my new party. The Partit Libertarjul Nazzjonali Quildanja: a party that wishes to promise a proper free market. That promises not to kowtow to the left, but to deliver you a free Quildanja. A Quildanja where you get to choose. Where you have freedom in abundance, liberty in droves, and expression unrestricted. We promise to participate on an international scale, and not neglect your right to be heard as Quildari citizens.

Alongside the brilliant young Maċillef brothers, Ġerihmyah and Kalċidon, we promise here today that we will stand for you as a political party. We will answer your concerns, and we will represent your needs. We will do what the other parties have failed to do. I wish to thank you all for coming - including the police force that has built up around us since I began - and I hope that come the next election you will put your trust in the party which will listen. The PLNQ.

Qart Quildar Kronaka
The end of the Badaran Crisis is all very well. We still need major reform in the World Congress though.

There is undoubtedly a golden opportunity to see the international community rally behind needed change in the bureaucratic chambers of the Security Council.
Opinion piece by Xiptibagħl Lawan, Foreign Minister Candidate for the PLNQ:

To me, and to the rest of the World, today is a day of celebration and relief. After nine years of on-and-off fighting, we have finally seen the finale of the show. The curtains have now closed on the Badaran theatre. Perhaps the scenario was neither the result nor the manner that anybody could have predicted, but it is undoubtedly a happy time for all Badaran citizens regardless. An end to conflict whether conservative or communist. Right or left.

There is obviously still a lot of work to do. There will still be many left radicals who will be isolated and angry at the fall of their government. They will naturally have a huge disdain for the victors, and for a pro-monarchy party that they have spent nine years fighting. Tensions will not die away, even now, and there will still be a large divide between right and left. However, we must all come together to support the healing of division, and the promotion of bipartisanship in order to return to a situation of normality and stability.

It is at times such as these that one would expect to enroll the assistance of the Security Council. But from my position in the World Congress, I can see that the infighting that goes on there is just as bitter as any one of those fateful nine years in Badara. Without ceasing, the Terran Superpowers fight it out, hammer and tongs, vying for support from the little nations, who are desperate for some of the action; desperate to boost their influence by pleasing their new, powerful allies.

Indeed, with such turmoil occurring within the body, the question of change has to be asked. The Badaran Crisis has resulted in a cataclysmic collapse of reasonable debate, and to see the representatives from the likes of Istalia and Rildanor blatantly attacking each other over how to conduct international affairs is now the norm. In truth, the project of restoring Badara to its former tranquility would provide another war of words within the Congress. Neither side will bow down; neither side can bow down. They are locked in a never ending battle of ideology and perspective, that neither shall or are able to pull out of.

Therefore, we need a new approach to the World Congress. We need a new approach to the Security Council. Major reform must come, and that means getting rid of what we have currently. As the former socialist government sought revolution within Badara, so must we, within the halls of the Assembly, seek change. We must rid ourselves of those bureaucrats who have remained powerful throughout the years. We must banish these nations who have caused so much conflict through self-gain rather than the promotion, progress, and relations of all nations.

It is clear, therefore, that Rildanor, Dorvik, Istalia, Luthori, and Hutori are no longer capable of running an organisation meant for brokering peace between nations, not destroying it. You may feel that listing Luthori and Hutori is harsh. After all, they did not participate within the backstabbing that the other three took to so fondly. But this is precisely the point. Their lack of activity turned the Security Council into a monopoly of hatred and distrust. With them, the three other powers would hold nowhere near the amount of power they do now. It is, therefore, necessary that they take a portion of the blame as well, and follow the other three in being ejected from the Council.

Of course, this leaves five empty spaces on the Security Council. You may ask, which nations are going replace these ones? Surely they will just fall into the same cycle of power and corruption as their predecessors did? Indeed they will. And that is why we need to abolish the Security Council and devise a democratic vote within the World Congress, by governments who have been democratically elected by their people. New resolutions need to be devised by each and every country in Terra. Not just five. And they need to be voted upon by every single country in Terra. Not just five.

Because even if democracy is slow paced, the current Security Council demonstrates perfectly what the alternative is. A place of chaos, anger, and power. Where power is concentrated in the hands of a few bureaucratic diplomats. To allow individual nations to have a say would be to open the doors up to a wealth of new ideas, many new perspectives, and lots of contributions about the subject at hand, rather than about long running feuds.

Of course, five nations should remain in place for times of emergency. Times when it is necessary for resolutions to be passed with efficiency. Yet these five nations must only be allowed to take control by a two-thirds vote of the World Congress. The World Congress must also be given the power to revoke absolute control from these five nations by a simple majority vote. Just like any other country, those in power must be held to task. So there should be a Council of sorts, but only to be used in times where Terra is in need. The Council we want should be a council that will always be accountable to the World Congress.

So as we enter a new age, which I hope will be filled by a long peace, void of conflict and war. We must learn the lessons of the Badaran Crisis and adapt accordingly. Now, more than ever, we require strong international leadership. Let us abandon our system of bureaucracy and conflict, and champion a democratic, common sense approach to the World Congress.

"Lies, Deceit, and Terror." Cildanian Expat's Experience of Communist Badara

- Exclusive interview
- Comes during tensions between Cildanian Government and URSR

A former Cildanian expat who was living in Badara during the Civil War and communist regime has agreed to an exclusive interview with us at QQK. Antnin, not his real name, spoke about the terror of living in a war zone, and under a vicious, dictatorial communist regime. This interview was taken by foreign affairs editor, Lola Borg.

Lola Borg: Thank-you Antnin for doing this interview. I understand that it must be very tough.

Antnin: Well, I figure that the Cildanian people, all people, deserve the truth about the former communist government in Badara.

LB: To start off Antnin, would you mind telling us a bit about the living conditions during the war?

A: The conditions were really bad. I was living in the capital, so I didn't see much fighting, not until the final night that the Coalition ran through and overthrew the regime. However, we could definitely feel the effects of the fighting. There were long queues for water, and rations. The government were giving these out, but it was hardly enough to sustain yourself. I couldn't tell you if they genuinely ran out of food or not, but everyone went to bed hungry. Well everyone except Union party members.

LB: What was the regime like? Were they oppressive?

A: Well you could never speak your mind. Some people I know went missing and just didn't come back. One, his name was Awni I think, and he was the most supportive person of the government that I knew. However, rumours began to spread that he had a cousin that was fighting in the Coalition forces. Within a week he had just vanished. We never saw him again. It was just lies, deceit, and terror to be honest. They never told us the truth, and they made us live in fear for nine years.

LB: Would you say that most people supported the government or did they back the coalition?

A: Well, within the capital there were plenty of pro-communists. I guess that's the reward for supporting them. But even in the capital, there was large resentment for those at the top. No one would dare speak up, but you could definitely sense it. After a while the government banned us from leaving the capital. They said it was to "prevent us from hearing Coalition lies". I think most of the expats, like us, were in favour of the coalition, but we were all too scared to speak out.

LB: Finally Antnin, could you tell us what the election was like? What was the mood?

A: Well there were armed forces standing by the booths. They didn't speak, just gave a cold hard stare as you took your ballot paper. I was too scared to vote for the Coalition's political wing. I just found my arm shakily putting the cross next to the communist's name. I think that was the reason that they won the 4251 election. They frightened everyone into voting for them.

LB: Thank-you, once again Antnin for talking about your experience to us.

International Relations Flourish Under President Ċalleja

- Completing promise of greater international participation
- Cildania creating closer ties with neighbours Pontesi and Selucia
- President says that his hope is to talk to Beiteynu
- Hints at possible Security Council bid

Image
The President, Massimiljanu Ċalleja in front of a large crowd. He is a popular President.

President Ċalleja's tenure has undoubtedly seen relations with other nations take priority. Currently Cildania is strengthening ties with its close neighbours Pontesi and Selucia, and further talks with other nations cannot be far away. His Presidency has also seen Cildania openly back the government of Badara, as well as the government of Beiteynu - two other nations within its geographical and cultural sphere. It has also stayed principled in its belief against communism, and has been the most outspoken critic of the Union of Revolutionary Socialist Republics (URSR).

Undoubtedly Ċalleja has been the most active President this century, and this hard work has paid off as more and more nations are beginning to cast their eyes upon Cildania. Despite his party's quite isolated position in comparison to the other party's within the Senate, with the philosophy of a more hard-line classical liberalism than most of the other more centre-based parties, their domination in politics for the last 3 years has seen a multitude of change.

The President's party, the Partit Libertarjul Nazzjonali Quildanja (PLNQ) has always been an advocate for greater international representation for Cildania, and this has been accomplished within their first stint in power. This is perhaps not surprising, as the party was founded upon the basis of the government's lack of action regarding the Badaran Civil War which occurred on its doorstep. However, we can definitely say that this has changed under a PLNQ Ministry and Presidency.

As a consequence of this, President Ċalleja has some of the highest popularity ratings within the country, with some polls estimating his support to be at a 70% favourability rating, a remarkable figure assuming he is now in his third year as President. Whilst party support may continue to fluctuate, and could lead to his eventual loss of the Presidency, it is clear that Ċalleja is a popular man, and has created a platform which is appealing to many Cildanians.

However, even he himself has said that his Presidency hasn't been perfect. A referendum to restore the monarchy was only narrowly defeated, and whilst there was no hint that this referendum was called upon due to the unpopularity of Ċalleja himself, it is perhaps a suggestion that the people of Cildania are rather split not only between monarchists-republicans, but also moderates and more right wing alternatives.

Further, he admitted that attempts to increase connections with Beiteynu reaped no response. Whilst he continues to reiterate that he "hopes to talk to Beiteynu," with growing pressure against the Yeudish nation, Cildania may eventually have to give up its pursuit of friendship with its Quildari cousins. Despite this, there is no indication that they have given up yet, with Cildania condemning possible URSR military intervention within Beiteynu.

Perhaps the most intriguing part of Ċalleja's plans for Cildania is that Ċalleja may be planning to run a campaign to put Cildania on the Security Council. He was overheard talking to the Prime Minister about possible setting up a campaign. When we asked him he dismissed it as hypothetical, but would neither deny nor confirm whether he would plan to campaign to get Cildania into the most powerful international body.

Undoubtedly President Ċalleja has pushed Cildania up the international's pecking order. By expressing the nation as open, whilst remaining principled on other matters, such as the URSR, he has created a strong image for Cildania, that will hopefully turn this great nation into an even greater one.

PMF CREATED
The Federal Monarchist Party of Cildania has been created today vouching for the return of the monarchy and the creation of a federal kingdom

Dom Troisi, the young leader of the newly formed PMF adressed a crowd of excited supporters today after he announced the creation of the monarchist party. Troisi told reporters that the country needs a strong monarchy and get back to their royal roots.

Image
Dom Troisi at the announcement of the PMF creation

We have lived under a monarchy for so long. Now since the republic has been declared our economy has seen a nosedive and we do not have a respectable and strong head of state to manage foreign relations and be a symbol for our great nation. We want a return to the traditions in this nation and see a federal monarchy created which will ensure enough power will be given to the states to ensure a efficient and completely customizable and transparant government that can tune on the needs of our citizens at any time if necessary

When reporters asked Troisi if he had a possible king or queen in mind he did not want to comment on it saying "We need to be open for cooperation and not go faster then we can. First we want to create our policy and setup a stable party before speculating on the future" Troisi said. Troisi is 40 years old and entered politics just recently being active in some monarchist movement and now creating his own party.

We are eager to see what the future might bring for this new party.

PMF ANNOUNCES NEW ROYAL HOUSE AND CROWN PRINCE
After the first foundations where layed for the party they announced the creation of a new Royal House and its first crown prince

Aiden Laviera, that is the name of the new self proclaimed "crown prince" of Cildania according to the PMF. The party created "The House of Laviera" a new royal house on the global stage. The leader of the house is the "crown prince" Aiden Laviera. A young man of 39 years old with a conservative mindsett. His political ideology is often described as Conservative/nationalist and he strongly believes in a federal monarchist form of government to ensure stability and a diverse economy while keeping a strong symbolic head of state which is one of the major reasons the PMF chose him to lead the house.

Image
Aiden Laviera, proclaimed Crown Prince by his supporters

The House of Laviera has also registered its name legally in the countries of Deltaria, Istalia and Selucia. Indicating that the PMF does not only intend the house to be merely a national one. However when confronted with this the PMF told reporters "The house is and will always be a Cildanian one. Even if it would expand abroad it will always remain of Cildanian origin however after the creation of the house our party will no longer intervene in internal house matters so we cant fully explain why the name is registered in those countries since its a matter of the crown prince"

Image
The official family crest of the House of Laviera

House Laviera now has 3 official members. Aiden's mother Carla Laviera which has been officially joining the house as well as Aiden's wife Emmanuela.
The House media coordinator did not want to speculate on any existing houses of Cildania joining Laviera or on the structure that a possible kingdom would have.
Supporters speculate on the name of the possible future king which is commonly believed to become "Protector of the people, Deliverer of justice, Conquerer of the seas, governor of the states, King Aiden the 1st of Cildania" with conquerer of the seas reffering to Cildania being a rock in the ocean and governor of the states meaning the head of the country and its states.

Image
Aiden Laviera's mother Carla commonly known by her supporters as "Princess Carla"

With the creation of this house and speculation rising we are watching with anticipation on future developments.

Aiden Lavièra visits workers union's
In his attempts to get closer to the people the "crown prince" visited several unions and met with the ordinary worker

The head of house Lavièra Aiden I went on a visit to the major union's in Cildania. First he met with the Union leaders before heading out to some constructionsites to meet with the workers. This visit is seen as a bid by the royal house to gather support throughout the country for the institution of a monarchy once more.

The Union's represent a major part of the working class of our nation. The men and women that work everyday to substain their family's are dedicated to the country and their job and should be rewarded. House Lavièra shall therefor dedicate itself to care for your family's and to keep strong unions so our workers get a fair salary for generations to come!

Said Crown Prince Aiden

This visit has been met with praise from the population which has criticized the current republican government for their inactivity in both domestic and international matters in recent years.
Lavièra also plans on visiting some schools in the near future and is planning a trip to several majatran nations to setup relations between the house and the continent. It seems the House of Lavièra is starting out on a good account.
