Secretary-General Slams Reformists
Xanthopoulos criticizes incorrect appreciation of the role of the Vanguard in the People's Revolution
Secretary-General Xanthopoulos had harsh words against the "Social Democratic" opportunists
April 4222 - A new revolutionary force has joined the Command Council, the body grouping together the progressive forces of the September Revolution with the purpose of coordinating the local Vanguardships and providing national guidance to the people's direct democracy. But the League of Social Democratic Vanguards, as this new force is called, is not truly revolutionary and has cast doubt on the very foundation of the People's Revolution. As Aniketos Xanthopoulos, the Secretary-General of the Command Council of Revolutionary Socialist Vanguardships forcefully explains, the Social Democrats and their leader Alpyurek Boran paint themselves as utopian socialists by believing that socialism can somehow be built through peaceful means by reform, and they wish to scale back if not outright destroy all the achievements of the Kalopian, Deltarian, Jelbanian, and Jakanian working class who overthrew capitalist oppression in their own nations and joined forces to form the truly international Majatran Revolutionary Socialist Federation.
The Social Democratic revisionists also show themselves to be petty-bourgeois counter-revolutionaries. Deliberately distorting Metzist theory and praxis, as well as the millennia of development of Metzist thought, the Social Democrats argue that, since Kalopia has not yet reached the stage of a bourgeois democracy, it cannot proceed to the next stage in material development, the proletarian revolution. If this is true then the entire foundation of the Vanguardships collapses and our direct democracy becomes nothing more than a reactionary dictatorship with only vague democratic pretenses. But only a cursory reading of millennia of Metzist thought and practice proves the Social Democrats wrong. Where Alpyurek Boran errs is applying dialectical materialism only to the Kalopian context without taking into account the global development of capitalism and its imminent collapse. As Comrade Ştefan Baciu, the Foreign Affairs Minister of the UKSR, explained in the 33rd century, the proper basic unit of scientific socialist analysis should not be the nation state, but the whole Terran-system. As such, advanced bourgeois democracy has already been achieved Terra-wide. The decolonization movement and the decline of Neo-Feudalism has moved capitalist nations from the semi-periphery to the core of the Terran-system, and now Istalia, Vanuku, and Kazulia have replaced Greater Hulstria and the Luthori Empire as the center of the world system. Neo-Feudal nations, who had maintained their mode of production by appropriating the minimum of capitalist practice to procrastinate feudalism's ultimate downfall, either progressed to fully capitalist nations, as in Indrala or Vanuku, or regressed into an Oriental (OOC: Asiatic) mode of production, as can be seen in Mikuni-Hulstria. As such all of Terra has finally moved to a fully capitalist system of production, after a delay of more than two thousand years, and is now ripe for the world proletarian revolution. Which makes Kalopia all the more suited to be the vanguard of the imminent revolution. Under the bourgeois-dominated Terran-system, Kalopia had become a neo-feudal semi-periphery and the center of capitalist exploitation in Majatra, and it was Kalopia and other colonial outposts, not the urban industrialized societies of Istalia and Zardugal, that proved to be the weak points of the system from which the revolt against the capitalist global system succeeded and triumphed, and is now ready to spread to the core.
Thus, they who accuse us of opportunism are the opportunists themselves, as they deny the sharp tasks needed today and dream about soft tasks in the future, abandoning class struggle in the name of some distant future construction of socialism by peaceful means. Our Metzist and Jalalist system of direct democracy and mass socio-economic organization permits and encourages honest and healthy debate, however what the Social Democrats have shown is not honesty, but opportunism and revolt against the people's direct democracy. As such we can only hope that the masses reject this foreign body from their midst and continue on their path of building socialism and preparing the world revolution.
