Former member of the WPD have spoken against the election as a fraud, saying it was rigged due to the disbandment of all major political parties and the detaining of major political figures. Dalibor Progress: 68Worker's Prgress: 21Blank: 11OPED, Why does Dlaibor have "Blank ballot seating?"By Li Dong, law professor at Dalibor State UniversityFor many years, there has been a glitch in our election process. This glitch, known to most as "blank ballot seating," has been apart of our election system since the mid 4150s.
In its most basic form, blank ballot seating is the same as proportional seating, and the blank votes are simply counted as if they were a party. For example: if one hundred votes were cast, and 31 people turned in blank ballots, then 31 seats in Parliament would be empty. This simple problem hasn't been much of an issue until lately.
Where did this little glitch come from? In 4153, similar to ours, there was a large number of blank ballots cast. The ballots were invalidated and due to this, the Economic Prosperity Party gained a slim majority even though they received only 45% of the "cast votes." The Workers Party of Dalibor contested this, suing the state and the EPP in the highest court of the nation. In their argument,
Workers' party of Dalibor, Communist Party of Dalibor v. the Commonwealth of Dalibor, Economic Prosperity Party, the WPD argued that when someone casts a vote, they are presenting their opinion on who should run the government, regardless of whether or not the ballot is filled out or not. They argued that by simply turning in a blank ballot, the voter is presenting their opinion, and that it is protected by the constitution and therefore the ballots cannot be invalidated. After two weeks of hearing arguments, the court took two days to formulate an opinion. In an 8-7 decision, the court agreed with the WPD, saying that voting was a form of expressing opinion, and therefore protected under the constitution. The court invalidated the seated Parliament and re-seated it based on the vote count including blank ballots, thus creating "blank ballot seating."
for years there has been very few instances where blank ballot seating has been important. in the election of 4205, a larger than normal blank ballot vote caused three seats to go unfilled until the next election of 4210.
