The Proletarians Have Become the Ataraxian Confederation

Postby TheCollectivist » Fri Oct 20, 2017 5:32 am

January 4290

President Vinal Parish has announced the official restructuring of the Hutorian Proletarian Party (HPP) into the "Ataraxian Confederation". This move changes three things concerning the party, its branding, internal structure and its view on agrarianism. Originally the Proletarians remained skeptical of genetically modified organisms, having been founded by Alfred Putnam, a gardener with experience in "organic farming", but within the past recent years, the party has come to support genetic modification. Vinal Parish, a physician himself, is no stranger to the scientific method and helped correct his party's previous critical view on genetically modified organisms.

President Parish wrote:The scientific consensus is that genetic modification is safe and beneficial. While we still support labeling genetically modified food, it should be clearly stated that the presence of genetic modification is not a cause of concern and only serves to inform the consumer of how their food has been created. Using genetic modification, we can make crops more efficient and healthier.

Old agrarian ways are outdated, we must embrace the present and future of genetic modification, we must work towards making newer technologies such as hydroponics more affordable and preferred. Nature has done well for its time, but we cannot rely on it completely, we must fill in the gaps with our own design. Only through science can we hope to objectively improve our lives.

I understand not all in the Hutorian Proletarian Party will like this change of view, but after countless debate among the Proletarian Council itself, we have reached unanimous agreement on this.

The Ataraxian Confederation, unlike the Hutorian Proletarian Party is now ruled directly by the leaders of the autonomous communes in the Kingdom of Adelia, with its membership open to the communal residents.

President Parish wrote:The Ataraxian Confederation was a dream and is now a reality. We will always embrace council communism: workplace democracy, but it is time we put our primary focus on the improvement of the human condition. Transhumanism shall be our new axiom. Using donations from the communes and from outside supporters, we will build more underground autonomous communes, where science and workers rule.

Ataraxianism is our ideology. What is Ataraxia? What does it mean to be Ataraxian? It means first and foremost to be a follower of the scientific method and support its findings. It is to use relentless research and analysis as a means of forming conclusions. It is to reject pessimism. It is to build and maintain better societies. Peace, science and self-determination is our motto.

Our current 64 communes have proven that planned communities can work and thrive with autonomy, but still cooperate with themselves and others such as the Kingdom of Adelia. As much as these communes have been a success, we must improve upon our system. For the future, we promise Hutorians our continued efforts to decentralize political control to local governments, empowering locals to determine their own policies, and we of course plan to build more communes.

The Ataraxians hope to build 64 more future communes in Adelia that incorporate hydroponics as their method of growing crops, although obtaining funding and autonomy for them will be their first hurdle. Parish's move to restructure the Hutorian Proletarian Party (HPP) represents the most radical change in the party's history. While the change is radical, many of the party's former organizations, such as the Hutorian Proletarian Guard (HPG), a paramilitary, have either been restructured into the Militia of the Ataraxian Confederation (MAC, or the "Ataraxian Militia"), or have splintered off into unarmed local movements outside the communes.

It remains to be seen if these changes will be accepted by Hutorian voters who have shown unprecedented support for the party in the recent past elections. Vinal Parish represents the second Proletarian party member to be elected as head of state, with Tiege Varnham being the first in June 4205. According to a recent poll done by the Bekenial, roughly 98% of now former Proletarians (138,682 of the 2.4 million members participated) approve of Vinal Parish, with 87% supporting the move to create the Ataraxian Confederation. While these are certainly high approval ratings, it would certainly appear the party's restructuring has been somewhat controversial in a party known for internal agreement being usually higher than 95%. Of course among the Ataraxian Council (includes 512 councillors), the approval rating for both Ataraxian ambassador Parish and the restructuring rests at 100%.

President Drumf Confirms Cabinet

President Timothy Drumf VI has officially confirmed his Coailtiom cabinet through the Senate last night, promising to "fix Bekenial for the better."

President Drumf VI is from the Drumf family, one of Hutori's most wealthy families. The new President is the fourth Royalist President to hold the office since President Thomas Woodbury's election in 3936. It is a rarity for an openly Royalist President to hold 24 Orange Avenue but the beginning of his administration also notes the first time a Royalist will simultaneously hold Ross House as Isabel Owen, the Royalist Senator from Carter City has been confirmed as Prime Minister for a second term.

The new Cabinet will be a Coalition between the Royalist, Progressive Conservative and Liberal Democratic Parties in a powerful centre-right alliance. President Drumf personally room for his party the PMO, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Defence and Trade & Industry. Veteran Royalist Senators Isabel Owen and Vernon Wilson retain their powerful portfolios and top jobs, while Paul Kimball, a former Vice President of Investments at the International Terran Bank, Patrick Woodbury, a retired HSOC Colonel, and ranking Carter Energy Group executive Carolyne MacKellar, has take Finance, Defence and Trade & Industry.

President Drumf has made it know his plan is to reinvigorate an otherwise stalled Hutorian economy and a weakened Hutorian military with the long term goal of "putting Hutori back on Top, the way it's supposed to be."

Drumf Administration Begins Foreign Affairs Blitz

In a showing of force that the Federal Republic of Hutori is back on the international diplomatic stage President Timothy Drumf has begin an international foreign tour, along with two key members of his cabinet, Prime Minister Isabel Owen and Foreign Affairs Minister Vernon Wilson. President Drumf himself has already visited Hutori's western neighbor Davostan and is currently en-route to Tian'an to meet with the Yingdalan Chancellor. President Drumf made a statement before his departure to the west on his talk with the Davostani President.

We had a wonderful meeting. We both jointly agree to reopen our borders and bring our economies together to make a stronger Macon for all of us. I'm going to follow this talk up with a meeting the Telamon Director and bring all of Macon closer together. When we spoke, the President noted he would bring the prospect of joining the Northern Council Treaty. With Davostan and possibly Telamon we will have united many of Terra's northern nations under a powerful and strong bloc of cooperation that will truly unite us.

While Drumf is dealing with Tian'an, Foreign Affairs MInister Vernon Wilson was dispatched to Kazullia to renew the relationship between Bekenial and Skalm, once considered one of the closest relationships in Terra and were considered two of the North's closest allies. Prime Minister Owen meanwhile is said to be speaking to numerous Artanian nations or will be making the personal visit to Telamon to pressure them into joining the Northern Council Treaty.

The Pantheon Foundation Board of Directors voted in favor of deploying upwards of 2,000 security personnel to Hutori over the next few months to protect Pantheon Assets from seizure by government forces. In a statement, Chairman Psy Scott said:

Prime Minister Warns Against the Deployment of Security Forces

Hutorian Prime Minister Isabel Owen issued a stark warning to Pantheon and Cyphrus Security "Stay out of Hutori or he arrested".

In a press conference from Ross House Prime Minister Owen issued a short statement about Pantheon planned deployment of Security personal to Hutori.

Image

The Hyperion Corporation and all its affiliates, which include Cyphrus Security and the Pantheon Foundation are considered persona non grata in Hutori. By law that means any employee has an automatic warrant for their arrest from the Federal Department of Justice if they attempt to set foot in our country, which is perfectly legal under Hutorian Law. Any employees that currently reside outside the countries will not be eligible to apply for Hutorian Visas and will not legally be allowed to even travel to our border without arrest by the Hutorian Border Security Agency. Further the Hutorian Federal Police Service have already executed warrants arresting and deporting any employees currently residing here. Any liquid assets have been seized and frozen by the Hutorian Ministry of Finance.

Further the threat of the Deployment of Armed personnel to Hutori is a direct threat to our sovereignty and will be treated as an invasion of the country to whom Hyperion and their affiliates call home. We will hold the Malivian government to account if they dare to threaten Hutori again. This is your first, last and only warning, stay away or face the full consequences of crossing our government.

HNS-Blake Lexington Deploys to the East

Image
HNS-Blake Lexington and it's Carrier Battlegroup

A Ministry of Defence official has confirmed that the Hutorian Navy's 4th Carrier Battlegroup out of Port Prosperity Naval Base, has been deployed to Dovani to "assess and monitor the deteriorating situation in Dalibor". This is the first international deployment of the Hutorian military since the Kalopi Crisis decades ago. The 4th Carrier Battlegroup is less by the HNS-Blake Lexington one of Hutori's Williams class Supercarriers and is protected by a screen of Bekenial class Frigates, Mashacara and Liberty class Destroyers, a Bunker class Auxillary ship and likely escorted by at least one Sentinel class Missile Submarine.

President Drumf feels the situation in Dalibor, with the increasing violence of its Civil War and death of numerous refugees now requires a much closer look. The Lexington won't be there to engage but is merely observing the situation as it develops.

While officially on an observation and training mission it's doubtless the Deployment of one of Hutori's vaunted Carrier Battlegroups is a veiled threat to Dalibor for their direct threat against their nation by their PM recently.

Wilson Urges Dalibor to Allow WC Peacekeepers into Shanghui

Image
Hutorian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vernon Wilson

Hutorian Foreign Affairs Minister Vernon Wilson issued a stark statement on the deepening crisis in Dalibor to allow a WC Peacekeeping Force into Shanghui to end the Civil War and allow the nation to return to peace.

This is a destructive conflict that has killed and displaced tens of thousands. It is time for the Daliborian Government recognize how serious the situation is and allow a peacekeeping force from the World Congress Security Council to enter in, facilitate a ceasefire, and end the never ending conflict before it harms more lives. I understand the relationship between Hutori and Dalibor is current strained, but we are urging them to accept such a peacekeeping force, a peacekeeping force we would even exempt ourselves from, and to end this conflict and allow normalcy to return.

Hutori currently has the HNS-Blake Lexington Carrier Battlegroup off the coast of Dalibor and Yingdala in International water, though there are constant air combat patrols in play. Foreign Minister Wilson took pains not to mention the Hyperion Corporation and its subsidiary Cyphrus Security, who are also currently both equally embroiled in the Civil War themselves that had raged on now for nearly three years.

Ataraxians' Message to Hutori

Postby TheCollectivist » Sat Oct 28, 2017 10:38 pm

June 4294

For the upcoming election in December, the Ataraxian Confederation has released an official statement recommending voters to choose their party and candidate:

Ataraxian ambassador, Vinal Parish wrote:Hello Hutori, as some of you know, my name is Vinal Parish, I am the Ambassador of the Ataraxian Confederation. I recognize some of you may not agree with our internal ideology, but I hope you will come to see that we ultimately serve to protect your best interests. To overcome any misunderstanding that exists about our movement, it is important to understand that we aim to decentralize the federal government and transform Hutori into a confederation. By forming this confederation, we serve not to empower any particular special interest group, but everyone. We can still be a united nation and still have local autonomy. If you need an example, then look no further than our communes that have been living in harmony with each other and the Adelian government for more than a century. Despite our obvious differences with a monarchical system of governance, the Kingdom of Adelia and the Ataraxian communes have existed peacefully together by respecting each others' right to self-determination.

While some may consider us left-wing extremists, we stand only to give your local community the right to govern itself. As a local to your area, you know your problems most intimately, you have to live with them everyday. People shouldn't fight for control over each other, but rather for control over themselves. We have proven this system of decentralization is more than possible, but preferable.

If you vote for us this next election, know that this vote goes towards your community's autonomy and thus your own freedom. Unlike the other possibly misguided parties, we will seek to grant your community the most amount of autonomy as legally possible. We know your best interests belong in your hands, not anyone else's. Your community will be able to protect its own traditions, values and goals without outside interference. Your success and failure will be solely in your hands, the solutions you utilize will be ones of your own choosing.

We hope you will come to see our vision as the best for Hutori. Together we can build a Hutori of mutual respect and cooperation, one that knows each others boundaries and seeks to live in peace. We will become a model of self-governance for the world, an inspiration for those who desire more control over their own lives. Regardless of your decision, know that we will continue our efforts to build self-governing self-sustainable communities that live according to the virtues of peace, science and self-determination. Even without electoral success, we have and will continue to lead our vision by example.

Joseph Green, leader of the Progressive Conservatives

The Progressive Conservative Party has voted unanimously in its annual party conference to endorse incumbent President Drumf for re-election, declining to nominate a presidential candidate of its own once more. The party has also declared its support for the continuation of the governing centre-right coalition of the Royalist, Progressive Conservative, and Liberal Democratic parties.
