LAUTERBACH: DSU ONLY CREDIBLE OPPOSITION
Image
Finn Lauterbach talking to party conference

He said this to members of his party's caucus yesterday:
We are in need of a more credible opposition for Aloria, because the RSF is certainly not doing a good job. Social programs are being swept from under us and older people are about to have to work 5 years longer. We need great change right now!

He then went on outlining the party's plan which included the return of multiple tax brackets and stronger rights for workers.

ALORIAN DREAM RECOGNITION BILL PASSES

Image
It is being described as a defining moment of Wehnert's presidency

The Alorian Dream Recognition Bill passed recently, with 311 votes in favour and 46 votes against. The RSF abstained, causing the DSU to claim they are the real party of opposition due to the RSF abstaining on numerous government bills. The bill was tabled by the Libertarians and supported by the PFR, Theudsosialist Aloriuna Waerkar Partiya and the Conservative Party.

The bil has meant the Alorian deficit was grew bigger, as it scrapped corporation tax and reduced sales tax on luxury goods. President Wehnert has said this won't be a problem as Aloria has large reserves due to running a surplus for the large majority of recent decades, although said he will work to reduce the deficit. The Libertarians have proposed a budget which makes some cuts in an attempt to balance the budget. The bill also removes a salary cap, imposes reciprocal tariffs, reduces the compulsory education age, imposes tighter restrictions on the arrival of refugees, makes school students listen to the national anthem at the commencement of each school day and allows people under the age of 18 to work (with tighter restrictions than adult workers). Wehnert said the bill liberalises the economy and restores national pride.

The bill has also been championed by Maredudd Rhydderch, who was one of the most influential people in deciding the ten articles of the bill; the ten articles he described as the "ten principles of the Alorian Dream". Rhydderch made a speech after the bill passed, where he declared that "communism is dead". Many people gathered to watch his speech, where he appeared emotional at times.

Thank you, thank you. Today, we may have just put the final nail in the coffin for communism. When I first proposed this bill to the Senate, some people said it was ridiculous to think that it would pass. Yet here we are, after two general elections, and the bill has passed easily! In the last two elections, we have seen the right see a huge recovery. Now that this bill has passed, it will make the Alorian electorate realise the power of the free-market, the power of national pride and the power of the Alorian people.

This bill will now come into effect immediately. Today is a victory for ordinary people, for decent people, for those left behind by the political system! My message to everyone Alorian citizen is this - this government and our president are fixing this country after the disastrous communist era. From today, Aloria will be a freer, more prosperous nation, where everyone can make it. It doesn't matter if you're rich or poor, you can fulfil your dreams through traditional hard work. Communism is dead!

PROTESTS AGAINST 'THE POLITICAL SYSTEM' STOP AFTER A RED FLAG ARTICLE EXPOSING THE PROTESTS

RED FLAG NEWSPAPER

After months of investigating 'Red Flag' journalists exposed what the so-called 'protests against the political system' actually were.

It turned out that the Terran Democratic Assembly, Franziska Belova's NGO was financed by Belova's girlfriend, and that same NGO financed the protest leaders and organizers. The goal of the protests was economic liberalization, political destabilisation and voting out Gloria O'nnel. After ecent economic liberalization bills passed, Belova and her girlfriend managed to expand their business on an international level.

But the Terran Democratic Assembly also had the following goals: getting the Conservative Party in government, further libertarization, creating a militant right-wing wave of votes and further 'rightization and nationalist-orientation' of the mainstream parties and further left-wing radicalization in the Alorian Left parties. Their goals are exposed but are partly materialized.

EPIDIANA WINS NOMINATION; EARLY ELECTIONS CALLED

Image
Epidiana supporters celebrating result.

Curia Epidiana has been elected the DSU nominee for president. She won 50.3% to Heidemann's 23.7%, Heilmeier's 19.9% and Maddy's 6.1%. Her campaign might be a bit shorter however, because the Conservatives and PFNW inactivate and early elections have been called.

ALORIA WILL INTERVENE IN BELUZIA

President Wehnert has announced Aloria will intervene in Beluzia if necessary. Recently, Wehnert has been in talks with Beluzian Prime Minister Elena Harrison about the current unrest. The National Opposition Union (NSU) control the presidency in Beluzia, and President Mobutu Somoza Duvalier has taken control of the military. Harrison said Duvalier has "created a military dictatorship". Prime Minister Harrison also accused the NSU of consisting of criminals. Former Beluzian President Dr Wewecho Pantafloja, also a member of the NSU, threatened to arrest and kill politicians who opposed his policies. Pantafloja also ordered the military to fire on congress, which killed 80 in total. After Pantafloja was removed from office, the chaos escalated due to President Duvalier's ambitions of creating a military dictatorship. Just recently, 3,000 protesters were killed in Beluzia by the military.

Wehnert has promised to intervene to protect Beluzia. Wehnert, who in the past has said he is against intervention if it is not in Aloria's interests, believes it is vital to preserve peace on the continent. The president has announced there will be a debate in the Senate on the matter, and he hopes there will be a consensus that it is Aloria's duty to help its allies.

Wehnert has even hinted at the possibility of military intervention in Aloria. Earlier today, Wehnert said it is time for Aloria to become a major military power. There are also unconfirmed reports that Wehnert has asked the defence minister to prepare for military intervention as soon as possible.

SETH JOHN DIES, NATION MOURNS
Former Foreign Minister and PM passes away at his home in Ultran

Image

Obituary

Seth Nigel John, born 16 April 4213, passed away at his home in the suburbs of Ultran Stadt on 19 October 4294. He died of a brain aneurism at the age of 81 years. John was survived by his wife Andrea (Meier), two children Herbert and Roderick, five grandchildren Erik, Efa, Immanuel, Debora, and Susann, and one great-granddaughter Juliane. John was an experienced statesman, rising from obscurity as a commodity trader in Sildar Urbem to become the Prime Minister of Aloria on more than one occasion. He was also known as a caring father, loving husband, and steadfast friend.

John was born in rural Ultran and attended the University of Port Freiheit before leaving school to work on the commodity exchange in Sildar Urbem. He was a founding member of the Alorian Freedom Party, which rose to prominence in the 4250s and 60s to become a powerful force in Alorian politics. John was instrumental in this rise, guiding the party as its leader. Previously serving as Foreign Minister, he became Prime Minister first in 4274, and served under his staunch ally President Gerald Wehnert. He was also instrumental in the merger of the AFP and the Federalist League to form the current Parti Ffederaliaeth a Rhyddid. After resigning from politics, he again returned as PM again in 4290 under President Wehnert. John saw many changes during his times as PM, and heralded an era of economic liberalization and reform away from socialist policies in his second stint in the office.

John's reputation, reflecting his middle-class background, was of a blunt but decent man ready to defend what he believed was right. He was most at home in opposition, but showed a marked skill for governance during his times in government. Above all, he showed a strong and unwavering dedication in endeavoring to do his best for the Alorian people.

BRETHREN OPPOSE WAR
Evangelical Brethren Conference condemns intervention in Beluzia
Calls for peaceful resolution to the conflict

Image

The Evangelical Brethren Conference, Aloria, headquartered in Porthladd Loer, held a demonstration recently in Sildar Urbem opposing the push by the sitting government for intervention in Beluzia. The Evangelical Brethren, who form a distinctly Hosian branch of Brethrenism, received the 4272 Razamid Peace Prize for peacefully standing against violent rhetoric from the left. However, strange bedfellows are to be found in these times, as the leftist DSU, by no means religious in their stances, also strongly oppose intervention in Beluzia.

The Brethren held a peaceful march through the streets of Sildar Urbem, chanting against war and calling for a reduction in the military budget as the PFR controlled Finance Ministry proposes a budget bill which increases military spending. Gladys Esyllt Vaughn, current spokesperson of the EBCA, gave a speech,

War is good for nothing. We as a country must disavow war and all violence, and pull closer to the light of Eliyahu in all our speech and action. Do away with violence, and resist all war. We beg our leaders, our friends and family, to oppose this fighting. We preach love and not hate. We support our government engaging in diplomacy and mediation, but we can never support war.

Her words resonated with the Brethren assembled. Peace is a key "testimony" or tenet of the Brethrenist creed, and the Evangelical Brethren have a strong opposition to any militarism in society. The group itself has seen modest growth in the decades since their winning of the Razamid Peace Prize, and their message seems to resonate with a subset of Alorians.

PRESIDENT WEHNERT SADDENED BY THE DEATH OF SETH JOHN

President Wehnert has said he is "deeply distressed and saddened" by the death of Seth John. Wehnert, who had a close friendship with John, described him as a conviction politician. Seth John served as prime minister under many Wehnert administrations. Wehnert said John was "unafraid to tackle political norms" and "100% committed to the cause". It is know Wehnert is a big admirer of John's political style, something Wehnert used to propel him to the presidency on five occasions.

Maredudd Rhydderch, former Libertarian leader, has also paid tribute to Seth John. Rhydderch said working in government with John was a "huge achievement" and he described John as "one of my two political inspirations" - the other being Gerald Wehnert. John is an inspiration to many on the right, and he will be viewed in history as a truly great politician and an even better person.
