Official statement from the office of Aristocrat Ltd. - December 2803

Since the dissolution of the Kalopian Regime Coalition, many have wondered the reasons of its departure from the Kalopian political stage, but no announcements and no comments were made by any official. KRC political members all disappeared and Ridikolos Aristocrat was nowhere to be found. Earlier this morning, however, we received an official letter marked with the emblem of Aristocrat Ltd. and signed by Ridikolos Aristocrat. Our sources confirm that it was perfectly legit. The following is probably the official statement from the leader of the now disbanded, glorious KRC:

"Majatra is undergoing radical changes, with multiple socialist governments and reformations arising from every corner of this beloved southern continent. We are the mark of recent international interest, and in general we ought to protect ourselves from harm, since radical ideas always lead to unprecedented and unforeseen consequences. The turmoil in Kafuristan and the KRC's latest attempts to help our Kalopian brothers in the war against the communists ended in vain, since internal disturbances shocked all that forms Aristocrat Ltd. and therefore the Kalopian Regime Coalition. May luck and proper judgment bless you all."

Zoi and the KWP to concede office after one term - December 2806

"In my own opinion, after one term in office, the KWP has been able to make incredible contributions towards improving the quality of life enjoyed by many working class Kalopians" said Zoi Anastasious this morning. "Considering that we were able to transform this country so much in such a limited amount of time, with such success, is an amazing acheivement in itself" stated Zoi as she was asked about her thoughts on the KWP's performance over the past couple of years. However, with the return of the Imperial Patriotic Front, and its lead over the KWP in the last elections, Zoi is less optimistic. "There are obviously elements within Kalopian society, even within the working class itself, that cannot let go of the past" said Zoi in response to questionsd over the Front's victory. "We can certainly expect to see a return to the politics of old under the Front's leadership, perhaps even worse than that of the KRC and Ridikolos Aristocrat". Though losing majority in the latest elections, Zoi has stated that the KWP will not give up the fight so easily. "We will continue to be here for the working class, as they will continue to be there with us".

Autokrator Nikolaos Dies - June 2808

Earlier this morning, Autokrator Nikolaos Sebastos Basileus passed away due to complications resulting from a surgical procedure. Kalopia's first monarch since the fateful 2737 Revolution, the Autokrator, or Emperor, was recognized as a fierce symbol of Kalopian nationalism, and seen by many as an embodiment of Kalopian values. Before coming to the throne, Nikolaos Ballantynos was a wealthy minor Kalopian noble and a career diplomat, highly respected in pro-Monarchist circles. He initially advocated for the restoration of the monarchy through the person of his older brother, General Penrod Ballantynos, a senior officer in the Kalopian Army and first leader of the Imperial Patriotic Front, but reluctantly took up his brother's mantle after depression-caused suicide. Elected Grand Secretariat of the Imperial Lands in 2791, Nikolaos was not crowned Autokrator until December of 2795, at which point, he adopted the imperial titles of Sebastos and Basileus. His ten-year reign lasted until 2805, when he was ousted in what some have alleged was a socialist hijacking of the legislative process, was regarded as a period of growth in Kalopia's military power and international clout. At the time of his death, Autokrator Nikolaos still laid claim to the throne, and, from his villa in the Mossavi countryside, served at the helm of the political powerhouse that is the Imperial Patriotic Front, but was not legally recognized as the monarch of Kalopia.

Arrangements for a state funeral have been made. Autokrator Nikolaos will be afforded a military escort with full honors and interred at the private Ballantynos family cemetery, located at the chapel of one of family's estates in Hondilton. Heads of state, government ministers, and distinguished diplomats from across the globe, as well as leaders from all Kalopian major political parties, have been invited to the affair and most are expected to be in attendance at the funeral.

Meanwhile, the Imperial Patriotic Front has begun to look forward, to its role in a Kalopia without Autokrator Nikolaos. Thanasis Rigas has been selected National Chairman of the Imperial Patriotic Front, replacing the Autokrator as the political leader of the Front. Mr. Rigas is one of the few high-ranking members of the Front who does not stem from an aristocratic background. Born to a Minosasan sailor and his wife, Mr. Rigas entered the Kalopian Army as an enlisted man at the age of 16, but worked his way up into the officer corps, where he became a distinguished General, leading elements of the Kalopian Army in GPO conflicts in both Kafuristan and Pontesi. A political ally and close personal friend of Nikolaos, he served as the Autokrator's Minister of Defense. Mr. Rigas is seen by many as a solid political mind and his working class background is expected to expand the Front's base beyond the aristocratic and middle classes. Mr. Rigas is currently expected to stand for election as First Minister in 2810.

On the other side of the Autokrator's legacy, the Imperial Patriotic Front has chosen to stand behind Konstantinos Vasilliou to succeed Autokrator Nikolaos as the claimant to the throne of Kalopia. Vasilliou, a close cousin of Nikolaos, and fellow aristocrat, is a graduate of the University of Polykratos, where he studied history, and of the Imperial College of Law. Vasilliou served as a local official in his native province of Mossavi, and served as its Exarch under Autokrator Nikolaos. He briefly served as a volunteer rifleman in the pro-PPKD parimilitary forces when the Kafuri Civil War of 2800 broke out. Over the past few years, the man has been working closely with the Imperial Patriotic Front, to restore the monarchy. Konstantinos, who has adopted the post-nomial imperial titles of Sebastos and Basileus, has chosen not to utilize the title of Autokrator. He has instead chosen to be addressed by the lesser title of Kaisar, stating that he will not allow a formal coronation as Autokrator to occur until the government of Kalopia reverts back to a constitutional monarchy.

Union outraged over KWP - June, 2809

KWP Party Chair and First Minister Zoi Anastasiou has come under fire from within her own camp. Trade and Industry Minister Antonis Balakakis has expressed his dissatisfaction with First Minister Anastasiou over the direction he claims the KWP is being taken recently. "There are elements amongst the KWP's leadership who wish to turn their backs on Kalopia's working class, just for the sake of politics" Mr. Balakakis remarked while attending a worker's rally in Parnakleida yesterday. Minister Balakakis is perhaps one of the most outspoken KWP ministers. His position as the leader of the Council of Trade Unions also affords him considerable sway amongst the unions and other members of the radical left. The minister has declined to answer any questions over a possible leadership dispute between himself and the First Minister Anastasiou.

Day of Rage - Violent protests descend upon Polykratos - June 2810

Image

Thousands of students and workers took to the streets of Polykratos and various other cities around Kalopia today to demonstrate against the recent polls. "We do not represent any party, we are here for ourselves" said one student protestor. In Polykratos, the marches began peacefully as the procession made its way through the city's heart, however, by early afternoon, it is reported that members of a far-right organisation began provoking the student and workers. Violence and chaos quickly escalated, as the protestors began turning on the police.

Image

The rioting and chaos finally began to calm towards the early morning hours, and the damage bill is estimated to reach between 2 and 4 million WAN. These protests have marked another turning point in Kalopia's turbulent political arena. Many feel that Kalopia is quickly becoming a divided nation, between the left and right. The KWP's support base is slowly being eroded by internal power struggles, and a failure to maintain most of its legislation. While the IPF appears to be rallying strong support from the country's increasingly right-wing middle and upper classes, who dream of a return to the glory of an Imperial Kalopia.

IPF Continues to Radicalize - November 2810

IPF Continues to Radicalize - November 2810

Despite retaining 189 seats in the Koinoboulio, making it the largest political party in the Kalopian Republic by far, and the most popular party in every Exarchate except Sessold, the Imperial Patriotic Front seemingly continues to radicalize. In recent months, the establishment of two center-left political parties, the Sons and Daughters of United Animalism, and the Agrarian Republic Party, have provided voting demographics that make up the moderate and liberal middle class elements of the Front with options other than the left-wing Kalopian Workers' Party. With the creation of Union of Progressive Parties of Kalopia, however, the three left-leaning parties; the SDUA, ARP, and KWP; have banded together to form a powerful coalition that comprises 311 of the 500 seats in the Koinoboulio.

In the face of ever-expanding opposition, the Front has seemingly continued to radicalize. Just earlier this week, coordinated mass protests demanding the restoration of the President Kaisar Konstantinos Sebastos Basileus to the Imperial Throne, descended upon the three major cities of Arx, Polykratos, and Siphina City. When asked to comment on the week's events, the president said "I appreciate the confidence that my advocates have displayed in throwing their support behind me so vocally. However, I cannot yet attempt to claim the throne in good conscience when there is such opposition to the idea. We have hearts and minds to win yet."

Commandant Achilles Kanaris inspecting his organization, Sacred Phalanx, sometimes called the paramilitary arm of the Imperial Patriotic Front

Even in the face of the President's moderating voice, the polarization of Kalopian politics has not stopped, as the rabidly conservative wings of the Front continue to grow in strength and number, advocating much more radical solutions, while the liberals seem to flee the party for more centrist-seeming groups such as the SDUA and the ARP. The Sacred Phalanx, a hotbed of radical pro-Monarchist thought within the IPF run by a Commandant Achilles Kanaris, that has often been cited as the Front's paramilitary wing, continues to grow, and has been accused several times, over the past few months, of attempting to arm itself with military-grade equipment.

Factionalism tears Kalopia's left apart - May 2814

Radical factions momentarily seized control of the Kalopian Worker's Party earlier this year, bringing in drastic changes to the party's constitution and dissolving the centre-left coalition, the UPPK. The seizure occurred just after the unscheduled elections of January 2813. The man responsible was Antonis Balakakis, the outspoken leader of Kalopia's Council of Trade Unions. It was while the former First Minister and party chair, Zoi Anastasious was on diplomatic missions elsewhere in Terra that Balakakis and his supporters decided to take control. However, Balakakis' support was short lived. Many in the KWP had been hoping for a change in party direction, but Balakakis' leadership proved to be far too radical. Balakakis has since left the KWP and the Council for Trade Unions, and his where-abouts is not clear. "I will not be returning to Kalopian politics" said Zoi Anastasiou this weekend. She has decided to take up a diplomatic posting in Dorvik. The vast power-vacuum left behind by these recent developments has been filled by Joseph Marinatos, the new party chair of the Kalopian Worker's Party. "This party needs a new direction if it is to at all redeem itself of Balakakis' mistakes" said Marinatos this morning.

The Return of the Kalopian Regime Coalition - Polykratos, Minosasa
May 2900 ~

The beginning of a new era signals the return of the mighty and benevolent KRC, under the leadership and banner of Diktator Apellas, who has been known for quite a while as the political beacon of internationalism. The Aristocrat family line, which shaped the events of Kalopia itself the past centuries has vanished and no descendant has been left alive to take charge. Latest news were the not so successful political course of the KRC, which ultimately led to an official disbandment, under the guidance of ill Ridikolos Aristocrat. Ridikolos passed away in Keymon at an unknown time, and the KRC was gone for an unlimited number of decades.

Now, seizing the opportunity of an empty political field, the KRC declared itself active again and rolled it with massive campaigns around the nation, supporting nationalism and a powerful central government. The military has been on the alert, as well as a number of secluded ministries, as the KRC, after moving to early elections, will proceed to great changes to transform the nation into a mighty and significant power. The extreme internationalist and militarist Diktator Apellas has found Kalopia in a state of Kalopikí Autokratoría, a kind of imperial idea. The Royal Navy has been heavily under funded, there are thousands of bureaucratic issues and the economic system has a large and uprising deficit. Political experts, despite being quite shocked and worried by this sudden and active return of the Kalopian Regime Coalition, are optimistic that Diktator Apellas will lead the nation out of the financial crisis and create a prosperous future.

In other news, the Maximilian Industries from Kafuristan has gone bankrupt. Dawson Exports from the international prospect has followed the same course. Both financial unions had invested in the once known Aristocrat Insurance LTD., which used to manage the financial sector of the Kalopian business map, as well as the commercial Navy.

Protests Against the New Measures ~ Polykratos, Minosasa
May 2900

Image
Police prepared to defend public property ahead,
according to state legislation

Fearful of the upcoming new and strict measures of the KRC, various entrepreneurs have stated that they will abandon the nation and move their clients and investments abroad as well. Also, numerous groups, supporters of a dearly openly free market have gone to the streets, aligning with public servants, who fear of the great hit, in order to protest against this new regime and hopefully, as they state, turn the rest of the people against them as well. Diktator Apellas, although unreachable for comments, seems to be quite optimistic about the situation and does not worry about these riots, various KRC members state.

Nevertheless, political analysts and various public experts are worried about the situation, as there is no government and no united police force to combat these rapidly expanding protests. The city of Polykratos was almost torn into pieces, with numerous firefighting squads racing to blazing sceneries across the premises and downtown. Stay tuned with us as Diktator Apellas will be calling for a press conference after the successful ending of the upcoming elections next month. For now we will cease operations, pending changes in the government engine.
