Report Shows Almost Half of Monarchist Statrica Follow Statrican Hosianism as Teachings Pushed Into Schools

An official report from Perica’s office today showed that “more than 45%” of Monarchist Statrica now follows Statrican Hosianism, the only legal religion in the religion believed to be controlled by King Edvard Perica and his government. The official head, Prophet Adler Eckhart, a former Dorvish citizen, has declared that the group and the government has “a very close relationship”, and is believed to be a puppet.

The religion allows Perica to craft the moral DNA of Statrican society and has already begun weaving in elements of racism, homophobia and rampant nationalism into the belief system, now taught in every school. The religion has its own Holy Book, which declares Statrica to be ‘the Holy Land’ and advocates “a strong leader, in whom we place an absolute trust.” Eckhart has said this proves “Perica’s fate to be divine, his right to rule God-given.”

Meigafia and Galevo Turn Blue: War Enters Whole New Phase

Image
OOC: Thanks to GeneralM for the map!

This year has seen sweeping changes to the situation here in Statrica, breaking the multi-year trend of stalemates and stagnation.

In the East, the Populists have pushed easily into Sovu and Nece, taking about half of each Province’s land. The support from New Endralon has helped massively, with fresh equipment — although some has been stolen — combined with experienced advisors and strategists providing the necessary skills and tools to defeat the weaker Monarchist forces in the east, with a great deal of Monarchist troops being used to take Meigafia and Galevo from the Socialists.

This has all changed this month however after the Monarchist forces swept over the southern provinces and took both Meigafia and Galevo in their entirety. This has made the Socialists one of the weakest forces in the Alliance, and Kata Horvat has now resigned as leader. Sara Gavran has taken her place in the elections.

The Populists now dominate the Alliance, with Aleksandar Novac still leading the forces. Yes as the Monarchusts finish up clearing out the few pockets of resistance remaining in the south and prepare to fight a single-fronted war, will New Endralon support be enough to beat back the Monarchist defences any more?

Perica Commits Mass Murder Against Rioters

As tensions rise within Monarchist Statrica, a fresh wave of protests and riots have broken out recently, signalling the first major shift to opposition from liberals seemingly feeling that its “now or never”.

Last week, 35 people gathered in Friedrichshafen to peacefully protest the spread of Statrican Hosianism. This technically broke the law on protest in Monarchist Statrica, which states that government approval must be gained before any action is undertaken.

Rather than arresting them, however, Perica ordered the national troops to treat it as an act of treason and an organised act of rebellion: they immediately sent tear gas into the area, before surrounding them and shooting at them with their rifles. Confused and frightened, many simply stood in terror and perished. Others fought back, only to be brutally murdered.

The only legal news source in Monarchist Statrica, the Statrican Times, said that “the brave national forces put down an organised violent riot where 3 troops were injured.” They didn’t report, however, that they were only injured after they fired first.

On the Front Lines: A First Hand Account

The country holds its breath as the Civil War draws towards its closing chapters: the Monarchists and Alliance forces have both stacked up everything they’ve got on the border. Talks of a new constitution and union erupt in the Alliance chambers while screams and pleas call forth from the hidden Statrican camps. The Socialists lie in ruins, while Okafor and Novac stand strong as allies and partners. New Endralon steps up its support with advisors and equipment that could give the Alliance forces an edge, while New Englian support for the Monarchists is all the more useful with its brutal advisors helping to implement and increasingly brutal and secure regime in the West. People look at their scarred lands, mourn their dead brothers and sisters, and bunker down for the final battle.

On the front lines, all of this comes together to form a bloody, deadly Central Front. This is the decider. This is the place where Statrican history is rewritten and the future is born.

Ode, a young Asli male, is a soldier serving with the Alliance forces, under the Populists.

“It’s a bloodbath,” he tells me, as we walk through a small town, charred with the stains of war: blood, fire and debris. “We tried leading an assault in the north, yesterday. Pushing into their lands. From what I heard, hundreds were lost: they saw us coming, shot us down before we even got close.”

The Monarchists have recently stepped up their campaign to steal New Endralon arms, with around 20% of all supplies currently sitting in Monarchist hands. On the horizon, a tank rumbles forwards: “Quick!” shouts Ode, and we duck into a bombed out building, the whole squad and me — a reporter feeling rather unsafe even in my clear ‘PRESS’ signage — holding our breath, death driving past in the form of a stolen old tank from New Endralon.

We let them pass through, escaping unnoticed. I look around. On the table behind me, a child’s bear lies in the fireplace, riddled with cuts and bruises.

The captain reports what we’ve just seen via radio. “This happens frequently,” Ode admits. “These patrols can keep out surprise attacks, but up against tanks, there’s not much we can do, unless we’re tank squad — and we’re not risking tanks for a patrol.”

He says Domonkos’ strategy is “bloody brilliant, apparently, though none of us are allowed to know what it is.” From what he can tell, the cautious guerrilla tactics are working well so far, even though it is a little out of character for Domonkos, known for his aggressive strategy. “There’s gotta be more to it,” admits Ode.

Monarchist and Alliance forces are almost evenly matched out on the front, with neither side looking to launch an outright assault. Instead, lonely patrols sweep No Man’s Land, wandering the battlefields looking for stragglers. A decisive assault will undoubtedly take an unexpected form: “the element of surprise is all we have,” Ode says.

Returning to the base, I feel like I’m leaving through the gates of hell and ascending to Terra. Yet even here, away from the patrols and the death, we are still not safe. Taking dinner in the camp, I was just about relaxing — suddenly, explosions ripped through the air: a Monarchist bombing. Everybody rushed to their positions, I clambered to safety; three dead or injured here, barely anything we can tell on the Monarchist side. A lucky escape. “They’re pushing closer towards us,” Ode says, and he’s right: the Minarchists are already making ground in Sovu and Nece.

Thirty minutes later, and we’re already finishing supper. This is the reality of life on the front lines. Leaving the battlezone, just one word lingers in my mind: “Why?”

Alliance Forces Form Statrican Republic, To Be Known as Republican Forces

Image
OOC: Thanks to GeneralM for this cool map.

In a momentous diplomatic agreement, the Socialists, Populists and Tribal forces have agreed at long last to form one, solid union. The People’s Statrican Republic has a new constitution: democracy reigns, freedom rings and elections are abound. While for now Novac takes the Presidency with a coalition War Cabinet, fresh elections are set to take place as soon as the Civil War is completed, or a majority vote in the Assembly — comprising currently of all 336 members of the individual faction’s lands, though soon to be expanded to 500 seats — secures it.

The People’s Party, Socialist Party and Equality Party (formed from the Tribal party) are the only three parties currently present, and all seem to have gotten something out of the deal. While the Populists take the Presidency, the Socialists have managed to remove all traces of the destructive devolutionist policies they were known for and which have been widely blamed for facilitating the war: introduced under Gregurek, policies about the devolved nature of the military and the powerful roles of Provincial Governors have been almost wholly abolished, while the Equality Party has secured fresh rights for Asli citizens and been given Rozna its own Local Assembly, with greater powers than other Provincial governments.

The Republican Forces, standing united, will be undoubtedly easier to command and organise: the new constitution can also be easily applied to a new unified Statrican state. Clearly, preparations are being made for the conclusion of the Civil War: but can the Alliance secure victory, or will the successful Monarchist assault continue to push ever eastwards, now almost wholly taking back Sovu and Nece?

Domonkos Works With Rebels in Monarchist Statrica to Unleash Unrelenting Assault on Borders: Monarchists Undertake Large Retreat From Sovu and Nece

The central front has been pushed significantly further into the West for the Republican forces this month, with the previously contested capital of Sovu falling easily into Republican hands after locals offered their support.

New Endralon general Domonkos has been immensely helpful in organising action and planning grand strategy with key Republican officials.

While he’s known for an aggressive, infantry-based approach, well-suited to the Republican army (generally lacking in equipment and aircraft, with an abundance of infantry), Domonkos’ tactics have been incredibly cautious this time round.

In a shocking turn of events, however, it turns out he was merely buying time for local rebels to organise an assault on Monarchist forces from behind the borders. Resistance to Perica once the West has been small but increasingly determined, and with their latest operation, they opened the doors to one of the most important tactical manoeuvres of this entire war.

By bombing and sabotaging equipment from inside the borders of Monarchist Statrica, as well as cutting off food supplies in recent weeks to the area, they left the Monarchist troops in a state of chaos. They were totally unprepared, then, for a sudden large attack on their borders from the Republican infantry.

Domonkos led a massive attack across multiple points, absolutely obliterating the weak and complacent Monarchist forces and disrupting their army in many areas. Hundreds of disheartened and starving Monarchist troops surrendered to the Republicans, no doubt providing them with a great deal of fresh information.

Once again, the Republicans are on the attack, quickly gaining land on the Monarchists and pushing closer and closer towards the capital.

Yet the question still remains: can they pierce the province of Trimavske, the Monarchist homeland? Or will they fall down at the final hurdle, while hundreds of citizens suffer under an oppressive regime finding itself increasingly angry and brutal in the face of large losses on the battlefield? And even so, can a Republican government really survive this division after a victory?

November 4337
Perica Begs for International Support

Losing the battle in the East, King Edvard Perica of Monarchist Statrica has finally asked for further support from New Englia: they have “provided a significant amount of support”, he said, “but more must be done if we are to secure a decisive victory. New Endralon support has led to a significantly stronger Republican army, and international aid is vital if we are to minimise the amount of victims to this war and secure our divine victory quickly.”

Sovu and Nece Fall Entirely to Republicans

Almost all of Sovu and Nece have now fallen to the Republican forces after New Endralon general Domonkos led an astonishing assault that left the Monarchist forces in ruins. With the Republicans charging forwards at the border of Trimavske and most Monarchists forces retreating to the capital, it seems the Republicans are in a strong position to assault the national capital at their leisure. It is expected they will take some time to recover before assaulting the city: but will they wait so long that the capital is too strong and all this work becomes worthless?

March 4338
Rebellion in the South; Revolution in the East

Former Socialist provinces of Meigafia and Galevo have been left relatively in policed by Monarchist forces in recent weeks despite a formerly very large military presence in the region, and now Socialists — working alongside a growing rebellion movement in Monarchists Statrica, comprised of disaffected moderates and oppressed civilians seeking freedom — have led a successful rebellion in the capital cities, easily taking Galevo.

This could be especially helpful for the Republicans, cutting off vital supplies and wounding morale for the Monarchists. However, a small revolutionary Socialist movement has also emerged in Samedza, a province that formerly was under Socialist control but was later taken by the Populists. Ever since a small group of around ten activists, known as the Red Balaclavas (for their mysterious red balaclava wearing alternate identities, remaining otherwise totally anonymous), has been actively preaching hardline Metzist arguments and calling for a full Socialist revolution in the Republic “else we shall fall into Monarchism once again.”

The Red Balaclavas recently organised a march with several hundred attendants. While the protest went mostly peacefully, a small fight did break out later on in the march, with one man being arrested for assault. Some have questioned whether this indicated that even Republicanism cannot save Statrica — perhaps the wounds and division goes deeper than the Civil War, and perhaps without the common enemy of Perica we shall fall once again into chaos? Only time will tell.

Republican President Aleksandar Novac called for unity: “now is not the time to be fighting amongst ourselves. Protest is at the heart of democracy, but for now, petty squabbling is irrelevant and damaging: if we are to defeat Perica, we must stand as one.”

May 4338
Capital Battle Begins: Set to be Most Difficult Task Yet

It’s make or break for the Republicans, who have begun the battle for the capital. Republican forces are cautiously moving to surround the city, while the Monarchists have established a large defensive line around the border which seems almost inpenetrable, using stolen New Endralon equipment which has barely been used so far in the war so far.

Meanwhile, Perica is rumoured to be making contingency plans for potential failures and an absolute loss. Already he has secured a limited amount of extra aid from New Englia, with the additional resources potentially being enough to keep the movement alive in at least some form, even in the event of an absolute defeat, or even to stave off defeat entirely. It is believed he no doubt has an ace or two up his sleeve: but what? Is his insistence on remaining King pure stubbornness, or something smarter? We’ll ssoon see, as the Republicans no doubt begin to press on the capital, led by General Domonkos. This next month or months certainly seems to be a key turning point in the war: this is the decider, it seems, between who shall lose and who shall reign victorious.

Capital: Eastern Districts Fall to Republicans: Evidence if Brutal Crimes Against Humanity Uncovered

Despite facing some early difficulties, the final Monarchist fortress of the nation’s capital is rapidly falling to Rebublican forces.

Monarchist tactics so far have been called “stalking, careful and stealthy”: empty streets lie desolate and silent. Then, progressing through the labyrinthine city streets, the Republicans are struck by sudden sniper fire, or a troop sets off a trap, triggering a deadly explosion, or 100 hidden troops descend upon the weakest Republican ranks. With the last of the New Endralonian equipment, however, the Republicans have managed to easily take almost the whole eastern quarter of the city, albeit with many losses.

Amongst the rubble, hidden in police stations and prisons, lies evidence of countless human rights abuses: torture orchestrated by former Nimitz officials from New Englia, mass executions as common punishments in bare, barren detention centres... Life in Monarchist Statrica appears even more grim than previously thought.

Royal Palace Bombed, But Perica Survives

In a surprise attack, Perica’s Royal Palace was bombed today by Republican forces pushing ever into Monarchist territory. A large amount of guards and staff are believed to have been killed or wounded, but Perica remained unharmed by pure chance.

Southern Districts Rebel in Capital City

Aided by other Monarchist rebels, the southern districts of the capital have now declared themselves free from Monarchist rule after launching a massive revolutionary attack on local forces, before allying with the Republicans and providing as much aid as possible.

The devastating strike appears to have been motivated by a recent increase in oppressive activities by Perica and a growing desire for peace: however, extreme right views still persist in some members of the community, who it is suggested may be entered into a deradicalisation process after the war.

POW Camps Liberated

Countless POW camps were operated by the Monarchist regime during the war: now, the last has fallen, after guards surrendered to nearby Republican troops. 336 prisoners were saved, most of them initially imprisoned for questioning the regime. They claim that torture, hard labour and daily random executions made their lives hell for years at a time — if they were lucky enough to live that long.

July 4338
New Englian Forces Utilised to Assassinate General Domonkos

With Republican troops bordering the final frontier and the last stand of Monarchist Statrica, the Capital’s central District and western docks, Perica has utilised the Onglian Landmine Clearance Team, a former badly trained and paid New Englian unit, alongside a highly skilled elite Monarchist escort, to undertake one of the most devastating missions yet: the assassination of New Endralonian General Domonkos.

Considered largely responsible for the recent Republican success, the legendary general was bombed and shot at last night by the OLCT on a suicide mission that killed all of them. A further 17 guards were silently executed by their elite Mobarchust export in the clandestine mission overnight, with 6 others killed in the bombing.

Domonkos’death could mean the Republicans fall at the last hurdle, but what seems more likely is the effect this will have on New Endralon: how does a nation respond when a key military official dies fighting a foreign war, and how will this impact future relations and foreign policy for the two nations?

REPUBLICANS TAKE VICTORY!

Image

Finally, after ten long years of war, the Statrican Civil War is over!

The Monarchist forces have collapsed and surrendered, Perica is defeated, and the fascist state lies in ruins while democracy stands united!

With the help of New Endralon, the United Republican forces have managed to crush the fascist Monarchists, taking back every inch of land in the country. Despite having to persevere through racism, authoritarianism, war, revolution, coups, assassinations, bombings, bloodshed and death, the Statrican people and the spirit of democracy has ultimately emerged as the true victor.

With hundreds of Monarchist troops, commanders and officials arrested by the Republican government, and most of the extreme right wing views stamped out, Statrica can, at long last, begin to rebuild this great nation once again.

But what of “King” Edvard Perica? The villainous tyrant who for so long dominated Monarchist Statrica could not face being brought to justice for his war crimes: no, this nefarious soul resorted to the cowardly act of fleeing.

Utilising a boat stored in the Monarchist-controlled “Royal Docks”, Perica and his daughter fled with a small group of loyal troops and officials, including the many New Englian advisors (many of whom previously worked under the infamous Nimitz regime in Hulstria), secretly set sail towards New Englia, a long-standing Monarchist ally, one whole week ago in the dead of night, it has emerged.

Edvard Perica abdicated his “throne” in a signed letter left at the Royal Palace discovered by investigating troops. His daughter Ana Perica, 33, he said, “is more capable, more young, and more destined for success: I have began the revolution, but Ana is the one who shall complete it.” At 86 and considered political anathema after this terrible loss, Edvard is in no position to lead any sort of opposition or government-in-exile. Yet the daring, young Queen Ana Perica may be just he figure to do it.

Will the new Republican government chase the Perica’s, or let them be? Who could tell?

For the moment, it seems the answer to this question is unimportant: the only words on most people’s lips today is “victory.”

Tomorrow, we shall finally see the drudge of everyday politics unfold. Tomorrow, we shall see Statrica rebuild, and in what direction. Tomorrow, we shall see whether this deeply divided nation could ever unify to confront the many troubles facing us again without a common enemy. But today, peace is in the air, and it is time to rejoice.

OOC: Edvard Perica and all the rest are now in the very capable hands of Phil Piratin in New Englia.

Concluding post will come tomorrow, assessing the state of Statrica in the modern world. After that I intend to relinquish control, leaving the Statrican situation open for any future RP.

Thanks for getting involved, reading and helping out!
