State Chancellor makes new years address
January, 4357
Haldor, Kordusia - State Chancellor Diethelm Tanais von Schleskau joined King and Kaiser Ludwig V/IV in their joint new years address where the two addressed a number of issues. The State Chancellor spoke regarding the legislative plans for the upcoming session of the State Council and the State Chancellor announced funding and assistance towards the environment. The State Chancellor called the environment a "...policy for the livelihood of the Dorvish people. Our land and soil are the most important things to us and we cannot forsake it." The Dorvish Ministry of the Environment and Tourism was pleased with this address and noted that both the State Chancellor and the King and Kaiser were instrumental to preservation and protection of the natural beauty of the Dorvish nation. Despite overall apathy for the topic, the Dorvish have a long history of positive environmental track records, rarely have corporations or businesses had an environmental issue that was not properly handled or a response from the Ministry of the Environment and Tourism ignored by the central government. Notably, the powerful State Forestry Commission lead by the Staatsforstmeister and the prestigious State Hunting Association (Dundorfian: Staats Jägerschaft) led by the Staatsjägermeister commended the State Chancellor and praised the King and Kaiser for their actions.
Another agenda on the calendar is the increased production of vaccines for what are considered to be dormant or "dead" diseases such as smallpox, measles, etc. The Ministry of Health and Social Services, notably the State Secretary for Health who was joined by the Chief Medical Officer of the Dorvish government, had propositioned the central government for a more immediate response in the event of such an outbreak or even a biological attack by terrorist. The State Chancellor noted that the Dorvish had an ideal position in the development of international healthcare among other leading roles, such as banking and international financial stability.
The State Chancellor spoke on foreign affairs and stated that the Security Council would be a top priority of the Dorvish Kingdom and would also work on working alongside Northern Council allies. The State Chancellor also hinted at renewed ties with Hulstria after a long dormant period, reports are that Dorvish defense companies have increased requests for contracts from Hulstria and Narikaton and Darnussia for specific pieces of equipment. The Dorvish defense industry has remained tight-lipped regarding such deals as has the Dorvish Armed Forces. Regardless of the secrecy involving these deals, or alleged deals, the Dorvish government is seeking to further entrench themselves on the world stage.
The State Chancellor put the Vanukuean government on blast for their diplomatic tirade earlier this year. Vanuku, once a staunch ally of the Dorvish people, had crawled out of international and regional politics with a whimper. Republicans, socialist and communist within Vanuku struck at the heart of the monarchy and forced the collapse of one of the most stable regimes in recent centuries in Majatra. While Majatra remains a stable and relatively peaceful place, the collapse of Vanuku has prompted the Dorvish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to issue a travel warning against Vanuku and surrounding nations. The typical regional instability of Majatra has been suspiciously quiet and the Dorvish are monitoring the situation closely.
