All right, I'm bumping this one, since I've been drafting a (very early) version of a new protocol, to replace this one - which was sadly removed due the stupid rules about cultural eras at the time. I'd like to make this a transparent and cooperative process so Pontesi(a) can have a long-lasting, agreeable protocol.

My very early proposal for religious and ethnic demographics goes like this:

ETHNIC GROUPS

Arev Mardik (Armenians): 40%
Jelbic people: 37%
-Pntékai (Jelbic-speaking Armenians with British influences): 30%
- Brmékai (Jelbic-speaking Turko-Persians from Barmenia): 7%
Seluco-Pontesians (Romans): 20%
Rajutti (Indians): 3%

RELIGION

Hosianism (Christianity):42%
- Auroran Patriarchal Church, Patriarchate of the East (Roman Catholic, Armenian rite): 22%
- Terran Patriarchal Church (Russian Orthodox with Slavic mythology): 18%
- Other Hosian: 2%
Paganism: 42%
- Religio Selucia (Roman Paganism) and/or Felinism (cat-centered religion from Barmenia): 27%
- Arev Mardik Paganism: 10%
- Jelbic Shamanism: 5%
Daenism (Buddhism): 10%
Geraja: 4%
Other: 2%

I this merging Religio Seluciana and Felinism into one group is justified in this case, due their long history of integration with each other. Armenians should be the largest group, no discussion about that.

We discussed including Daenism before in the thread about the cultural map (which seems to have been put in the freezer for now? :( ) and I think it's a good change, not only because Buddhism has a history of blending together with pagan religions, but also because there's a big interest in the religion in the west today, and there should be an opportunity for Buddhist RP in a "western" nation.

I've came up with a second proposal regarding the ethnic demographics, though:

Arev Mardik (Armenians): 38%
Jelbic people: 35%
-Pntékai (Jelbic-speaking Armenians with British influences): 30%
- Brmékai (Jelbic-speaking Turko-Persians from Barmenia): 5%
Seluco-Pontesians (Romans): 16%
Pontesio (A mixed group consisting of influences from all of the above): 8%
Rajutti (Indians): 3%

Biggest change is obviously the implementation of a new mixed group, the Pontesio (feel free to suggest another name). Which I think makes sense, after thousands of years of being an ethnic melting pot. This mixed group would of course still largely be Armenian, "ethnically" speaking... Imho, Selucians should only be the majority in Bazileum, and 16% seems like a solid number.

Hmm.. yeh, they're a kinda inetgral part of Pontesian history too, tbh. More so than Rajutti. Even have a city that's obviously Yeudi (Tel Shemesh) in Azorium. Maybe I can just subtract 2% from the Pontesio and add a Yeudi category? :D
