THE RAINBOW-SOCIALIST COALITION PLOT AGAINST THE DEMOCRATIC SOVEREIGNTY OF THE MORDUSIAN PEOPLE
By Alexander Phillips

First they sent spies to control our party. We were naive and only one was very sloppy, we thought we rooted out the left-wing subversion within our parties when we removed Samuel Monday. We. Were. Wrong. Today a libelous attack on our allies in the Mordusian Conservative Party painted them, and us, as 'Nazis,' and 'Fascists.'

I am going to assure you that this information is based solely upon hearsay and lies. The information that they have comes from the leaked phone records of an HDU staffer, one that we believe worked with the Socialist Party and Samuel Monday to undermine our coalition.

Make no mistake, this slanderous report is nothing more than a political hit job. This is an attempt to deprive Mordusia of the coalition that earned their votes. We would encourage any foreign entity to think twice before launching any sort of intervention, as it would merely be cementing the socialist takeover that the left is plotting.

SAMMODRAN SOCIALISTS VOTE TO ESTABLISH AUTONOMOUS PARTY

Socialists in Sammodra have established the Parti Socialiste de Sammodra, an autonomous party affiliated to the federal Socialist Party, but officially registered as an independent party on the electoral commission. The Socialist Party in Sammodra voted by 72.3% to dissolve and form a new party at their last conference on the grounds that Sammodra is “culturally distinct” from the rest of Mordusia.
This isn't entirely false. According to a survey done by MPoll, 52.3% of Sammodrans consider themselves Canrillaise first and Mordusian second, 34.3% consider themselves equally Mordusian and Canrillaise, while just 13.4% consider themselves Mordusian first and Canrillaise second.
Sylvie La Roux, First Minister of Sammodra, was elected as leader of the PSS, and Thierry Beaufort was elected as deputy leader

GREGORY HEWSON BECOMES LEADER, CHANGES TO MORDUSIA FIRST

Image
Gregory Hewson, Leader of Mordusia First (Right) with Grant Johnson (Left)

Today, the Barrett/Hewitt Leadership was defeated by Gregory Hewson, Former Treasurer of Mordusia and current Minister of Trade and Industry. After losing the Presidency and the Prime Ministership, Barrett and Hewitt were slowly losing their credibility and after Hewson’s successful tax cuts which saw the GDP rise from 3.2 trillion MRD to 3.8 trillion MRD, the Mordusian Conservatives needed change. Hewson challenged the current leadership and won 100 to 6, changing the party to Mordusia First and selecting Grant Johnson as his Interim Deputy for the time being.

Mr. Hewson has been criticised for being ‘racist’ in the past making various comments about different cultures such as; “There are no Canrillaise in Mordusia, we are all Mordusians”, “Ahmadists are a threat to society”, “Kalopians are just parasites”, “The Canrillaise Community used to eat their own babies a few centuries ago” and many other statements along those lines. The Left depict him as a facist racist and believe that he will turn Mordusia into a Nazi Regime, however time will only tell.

BREAKING: ADUBURAN STATE GOVERNMENT BLOCKS SALE OF RABBIT'S FOOT TO COAL COMPANY

The Aduburan state government, run by Samantha Jenkins of the Socialist Party, has blocked the sale of 7498.8km² of land in Rabbit's Foot National Park on the grounds that the sale of the land violated the Constitution, as the state government wasn't consulted.

"This is a violation of our constitution and an infringement upon states' rights" she said in a statement "I will block the sale of Rabbit's Foot to Grumsworth Coal. I will not budge on this issue." She also added "This deal will destroy our environment by attempting to revive the dead coal industry. I am not a Save Our Earth-like activist. In fact, I approved the building of an oil pipeline in our state. But the coal industry is dead. Nothing will change that"

The General Confederation of Labour and Save Our Earth are preparing a general strike, to protest what they call a "corrupt deal"

More to come.

Canrillaise farmers bring Rechtenburg to a standstill in anti-government protest

As part of a "Day of Rage" against the controversial anti-minority rhetoric of the governing coalition party Mordusia First, Canrillaise farmers, mainly from Sammodra State, have descended upon the capital city of Rechtenburg and succeeded in bringing it largely to a standstill for the day. Farmers drove in with their tractors, blocking up most of the major roads leading in and out of the city. As part of the protest, tires were set on fire and manure was dumped on the road. There were also incidents where agricultural produce was dumped as well, including a lorryload of red wine.

Gérald Boffrand, chief organiser of the "Day of Rage" event, was arrested at about 1.15pm this afternoon on charges of organising an illegal obstruction, but was later released on bail. In an interview to the media, he called on "the whole world to look at what is happening in Mordusia, and see how the Canrillaise are being treated by our own government". He also vowed to "repeat this again if it is necessary" and that "we will bring the government down - we will do whatever it takes - we've had enough".

Liberal Union leader Henri Bachelot said he was "saddened by the bitterness, the anger and the disruption that we have seen today" but insisted "the government has brought this on itself" and said he "supports in the strongest terms the message that the protesters are trying to send out". "The people have had enough of the racist and bigots," he added.

We won't jump for Hewson's Mordusia, vow top athletes

Image
Jean-Baptiste Duchemin, a Canrillaise Mordusian who won bronze at the last Olympics

Three of Mordusia's top high jump athletes, Jean-Baptiste Duchemin, Edouard Delaunay and Lucy Miller, have issued a joint statement saying "we love our sport and love our country" but "we could not bring ourselves to represent Mordusia at the 4380 Olympics if the Mordusian government is still of the character it is today".

The move is a protest against the controversial anti-Canrillaise rhetoric coming from Mordusia First, particularly of its leader, Gregory Hewson.

Jean-Baptiste Duchemin, the most well-known of the athletes, added:

We decided we had to take a stand on this, we had to do something. The government have gone too far. They are trying to pass laws which discriminate against minorities, such as Canrillaise and the LGBT community, and they are making statements which make us feel like we are second-class citizens. Everybody in the Olympic Team understands our position, and most of our fellow athletes and coaches have been very sympathetic. I think it is likely that more athletes will join us if, as the Olympics gets closer, we are still in the same situation. Obviously we all want to compete in the Olympics and do our best for ourselves and for Mordusia, but there are some situations where it is right to make a stand.

Liberal Union leader Henri Bachelot said:

I 100% respect how the athletes feel. It is very admirable they are making a stand. It is just sad that in taking this stand, they may be negatively impacting their own careers, as they could lose out on the opportunity to take part in the Olympics. What we are seeing here is that Mordusia is waking up to the dangers of right-wing extremism. I really hope the rest of Terra is going to wake up and take notice of this too. More and more Mordusians - from all backgrounds - are saying they no longer feel liberty and democracy are safe in this country.

BREAKING: ALICIA PACHECO DIES AT 103

Alicia Pacheco, the founder of the Labour Party - now known as the Socialist Party -, immigrant from Egelion, and labour lawyer, has died at 103 for undisclosed reasons.

She founded the Labour Party in 4331 to challenge the hegemony of the right in Mordusia. She repeatedly ran for the Presidency, though she never won.

Politicians have tweeted their condolences to the Pacheco family
@QueenAzikiwe: Alicia Pacheco was a great woman, a committed activist, and my friend. I am distraught about the news of her passing. May she rest in peace

@SimonBouchard: This is awful. Alicia Pacheco was a truly kind-hearted woman. My thoughts and prayers are with the Pachecos.

@DougSteinberg: Alicia was an inspiration to me and to everyone on the left. I feel grateful that I was able to meet her before her death. #RestInPeace
