Imperial Observer Mission Addresses Enlistees following Northern Council Joint Military Exercises in Lourenne

Image

OUTANNAIS, LOURENNE -- Imperial Armed Forces senior Army Training and Doctrine Command officer Purcell Chinelo delivered remarks to a gathering of Northern Council enlisted personnel to mark the completion of the security alliance's Titianaboa training exercise. 'We first want to thank the Lourenne and Northern Council commanders and leadership for extending to the Empire an invitation to observe these exercise. And especially we want to thank you, the men and women who completed this mission so successfully. I want to tell you personally that what you've accomplished for your countries, for the Northern Council Alliance, and for global security is really exceptional. In the Empire we're going to take the new knowledge we've experienced here back to our barracks to explore how we can improve our expertise for ourselves and when serving alongside each of your nations and the Northern Council as your allies,' Brigadier General Chinelo remarked.

Preparations in Full Swing as Nekhatw Palace Readies Ahead of Indralan Imperial Family Visit

Image
HIH Princess Imset will lead the diplomatic visit in place of Her Imperial Majesty who currently resides at Nyota Palace, Talmoria

NEKHATW -- On receipt of letters from Tian'an requesting an Imperial audience between the Esintsundu and Indralan Imperial Families, Nekhatw Palace has been placed on high alert by the Morrison Administration who insist that the visit should be treated as the state occasion of the year.

Administration officials recently returned on a high from the Indralan Economic Forum where well-received addresses by leading politicians and private sector figures are widely believed to have set Hawu-Indralan relations off to a good start. 'The IEF was a wonderful success because it allowed the Aqqak and Tian'an establishments to kiss hands and take eachothers' measures,' said Qiniso Sibanyoni, a Research Fellow with the Chapman Presidential Center for the Study of Public Administration at the University of Soleb. 'Now that everyone's at second base, the focus is on exploring a formal relationship. That's why the royals are coming. They want to get a good look around and see if they can feel at home here and then they'll go back home and tell their government whether Indralan business should move in to stay for good,' asserted Mr. Sibanyoni.

Several members of the Imperial Family and the House of Saksoure will play leading roles in the visit. Monarchy experts tell The Scribe they believe Princess Imset will serve as hostess and Guest of Honor during the visit in place of Her Imperial Highness's sister The Empress. While Foreign Affairs Ministry officials are thought to have considered calling Her Imperial Majesty to Nekhatw to headline the Indralan meeting, Minister Jabril Tutankhmumenhes Turner reportedly nixed the idea due to concerns regarding changes of government in the Talmorian capitol. Nekhatw's public relations team have worked overtime to heighten Princess Imset's public profile ahead of the visit. Earlier today a recent photo portrait of Her Imperial Highness was distributed to the media. In it, the Princess adorns the Great Gold Suite within Nekhatw Palace's private quarters. The striking image, seen above, is thought to be a nod to the Indralan Imperial Standard which features an Imperial Dragon jutting forward from a yellow background. Yellow and gold are cardinal colors for the Indralan state as they represent the rising sun, a common symbolic fixture for nations situated on the eastern continent of Dovani.

When asked what they hoped to accomplish by the visit, the Foreign Minister said the Administration was optimistic on many fronts. 'We're just coming off some important economic developments in the foreign markets, not least the Indralan Economic Forum where Umkiqiza ka Izikhali and other big businesses let Indrala and the world know that Hawu Mumenhes is open for business and that there're no better partners in Terra to treat with than the Hawu. On the other hand, the collapse of the UkI deal in Vanuku has been a great disappointment. And we're gonna make that clear to our Vanukean counterparts in the coming days. But we also must keep searching out new markets where growing businesses like UkI can put their really staggering assets to work. And few markets tick all the boxes the way Indrala does. So that's high on the list of what we hope to come out of the Princes' visit,' Minister Turner revealed. Not all the government's concerns are so businesslike however. 'We are also mindful that Her Imperial Majesty and several of the Imperial Kinsmen are currently without consorts. And so it's going to be critical in coming years that members of the Imperial Family do some mingling and begin to make the kinds of contacts and construct the kinds of diplomatic relations that are going to be key to identifying persons of proper rank and title for potential Imperial marriages,' the Minister intimated.

The Indralan Imperial tour is slated to begin in coming weeks. Hawu Mumenhes is situated near the middle of the Indralan itinerary giving the Aqqak and Tian'an governments ample time to complete negotiations and preparations ahead of the key diplomatic meeting.

As Wiel Embraces Protectionism, Hawu Mumenhes Looks East

Image
Capital flows to Dovani region increasing rapidly say finance bosses (pictured: Hedge Fund Manager John Bomani during HES panel discussion)

NEBA -- The smart money is on Dovani. That's the overwhelming sentiment from leading bankers and economists at this year's Annual Conference of the Hawu Economists Society. The HES is one of the world's leading scholarly associations and its Annual Conference is a Who's Who of academics, big business, and high finance. This year saw speeches, panel discussions, and cameos by the billionaire investor Neferibaši Koné, the public intellectual Qiniso Sibanyoni, Finance Minister Julia Warren-Mhaule, and the CEO of IeUkN, the investment bank behemoth headquartered at the avant guard sea-side structure affectionately called 'the dreidel' by locals.

Sibanyoni led an engrossing if cheekily-named panel called 'Whither Hawu Capital,' a none too subtle jibe at Vanukean politicians who recently rebuffed investment overtures by a leading Hawu multinational. John Bomani, whose alpha-trading hedge fund was recently acquired by IeUkN, joined other panelists in gleefully ribbing the Wiel government but struck a decidedly bullish tone. 'Their government dropped the ball, no doubt about it,' Bomani agreed. 'That kind of protectionism and paranoia is way out of step with the world's leading economies. And of course the Vanukeans esteem themselves as the leading global economy. If that was ever true -- and the economists here can confirm that or refute it for us -- it cannot be true for much longer given the defensiveness their policymakers showed to Garang and his team,' Bomani asserted in reference to Garang Deng, CEO of Umkhiqizi ka Izikhali, whose gruff handling by Vanuku regulators made headlines and caught the attention of investors worldwide. 'Civilization and great societies are open things,' Bomani continued. 'They grow and sustain themselves by taking in the best the world has to offer and adapting it to local needs. However what we're increasingly seeing out of Majatra is legacy powers that hew to rigidity and inadaptability hoping to protect their flanks and preserve their positions. That way lies madness. In the fifth millennium, the velocity of economic change and the sheer volume of productivity required to remain at the forefront makes it impossible to go it alone. You need partners if you're going to win nowadays, and you have to be confident enough to meet them and seek out ways to work with them for mutual benefit,' said Bomani.

Sibanyoni later pivoted the discussion to how and where to find such fearless markets. One academic economist pointed out that global capital flows to the Dovani region had increased at a rate of 40% over recent decades. Contrary to popular fears surrounding political stability in the region, Bomani, the hedge funder, said the smart money is ferreting for ways to get into Dovani rather than getting out. 'Any good trader knows that when the horde goes in one direction, that's the first sign that it's time to head the other way. The risks are huge and there're no doubts about that. But we also have the benefit of some legacy partnerships that serve to anchor business in the region and allows us to step out on the limb with more assurance. The emerging partnerships are also extremely promising if policymakers can construct the regulatory environment investors need to move ahead full steam,' Bomani said in an apparent nod to growing courtships between Hawu Mumenhes companies and the governments of Indrala and Kazulia.

In contrast to Vanuku's move to lockout investors from its local defense manufacturing industry, the Kazulian government has sought to pounce on the Majatran retraction, viewing it as an opportunity to attract critically needed capital to help fund R&D and completion of several long-running munitions development programs. 'I happen to know that the Defence Ministry is in process of procuring submarines and amphibious assault ships from the Kazulians,' Sibanyoni let slip. Peppered from the audience with questions about how large the Hawu Mumenhes government's order might be, Sibanyoni admitted, 'my sources haven't quoted a LOD figure. But I do know Battersby wants to update the whole naval fleet and may request quotes for up to 3 of the diesel-electric submarines,' Sibanyoni intimated. Sibanyoni said there was less enthusiasm for Kazulia's amphibious assault ships due to their relatively low displacement tonnage. Throughout the conference's proceedings, chatter was also rife that weapons technology firm UkI is thought to be pitching a strategic partnership with Kazulian naval manufacturer Pennington-Reid to boost tech components in Pennington-Reid's Project CB002 combat boat. Most commentators estimated UkI's bid to be in the range of 25-40% to leave room for other foreign companies to potentially participate.

Panelists were harder to pin down on the prospects for Hawu multinationals in the Indralan market. 'It's still early going and the relationship seems to be building slowly,' Bomani told fellow panelists. 'That's the ideal way to build a long-term partnership, and few countries have the capacity of high-quality, high-volume, upmarket productivity the way Indrala does. So I personally believe there's every reason for optimism.' Asked by an audience member what might push emerging Hawu-Indrala relations from optimistic to fruition, Bomani punted. 'I think the regulators and public officials from both sides just need a chance to sit down and outline their objectives for one another. And I would predict that we'll see that happen at the state visit later this year.'

Nekhatw, Hawu Mumenhes November 4403

In a move that has been widely discussed, another generation of the famed Chandler family has been chosen by
the Remetch Beesave Xadtu to lead the Nationalist Party. With the election of former party leader and veteran
statesman, Richmond Chandler to the honored and exalted position of Head of State of Hawu Mumenhes, the
party has turned to the nephew of the former party leader. The thirty two year old Latrelle Chandler is a
graduate of the Royal University of Nekhatw, where as generations of his family before him have done he
studied politics, law and business; graduating with degrees in each. Chandler a prominent executive
of the multibillion(insert currency name here) Chandler Enterprises and a former litigator has already
made quite a name for himself apart from his famous family; via his involvement with several trials
of national interest within recent years. When asked for a comment about his new appointment as
Nationalist Party Leader, Chandler had this to say " I am extremely honored to be chosen to steer
the helm of so great an organization. An organization whose sole purpose has been and ever shall
be the betterment of the Hawu Nation. I can think of no greater duty of any citizen of this great
Nation. I stand in the ranks of my forefathers and as they before me, i shall work tirelessly to
fulfill the aims, the sacred duty of the Remetch Beesave Xadtu"

Chandler assumes official leadership of the party later this evening at a gala event hosted by the
Remetch Beesave Xadtu.
