RodshyadamSUPREME SOVIET VOTES NO ON TRIGUNIAN MEMBERSHIP INTO THE NORTHERN COUNCIL: "SOURED DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS ARE TO BLAME", SAYS FOREIGN MINISTER IGNATOVBy Kliment Ryzhikov, Editor-in-chiefA frustrated Chairman Konstantinov condemns the actions of Kazulia to fellow socialist governments in the West.Months ago, Trigunian-Kazulian relations were at their peak. The motherland was seemingly on the cusp of achieving membership within the Northern Council, and benefits, both militarily and economically, seemed on the horizon. But in recent months diplomatic relations between Trigunia and the Northern Council's most prominent state, Kazulia, have voiced opposition to the fellow socialist governments in Dundorf and Dorvik, calling the latter a "dictatorship". The Prime Minister of Kazulia, Harald Christiansen, also spoke of the "horrors of communism" he witnessed in our great nation, whilst he served as Ambassador to Trigunia. Such a shocking declaration from a developing ally quickly rose up to Chairman Konstantinov as well as General Secretary, and Premier Antonov. Submitting a ratification bill earlier last year, our government seemed jubilant on voting yes on the ratification of the motherland's entrance to the Northern Council, but after these remarks, all 750 of the All-Trigunian Communist Party's representatives to the Supreme Soviet vehemently voted no on such a proposal. The smaller, recently formed Communist Party of Trigunia, of which has no seats, also voted no on the proposal.
Valentin Konstantinov today gave a speech to the Supreme Soviet condemning the actions of a "seemingly trusting ally", stating that such actions to fellow comrades across the world will not be tolerated. He also stated that Trigunia will likely have to find allies elsewhere, a crushing blow to the party's desire of internationalism. Upon the close of his delegation, he invited Foreign Minister Anatoly Ignatov to shed some light on the issue. As Narodnaya Pravda graciously follows the party at each event they hold, our paper has attached a transcript of Mr. Ignatov's delegation below.
Distinguished Members of the Supreme Soviet,
Today we have wholly voted no on the motherland's entrance into the Northern Council. Yes, it is shocking, I will admit. Conditions were good prior to this, but the simple answer is that soured diplomatic relations are to blame here. Previously Kazulia has been watchful of fellow communist governments across Terra but taking a neutral stance. It seems now that our comrades in Dundorf are in threat of their government collapsing Kazulia swoops in like a vulture to condemn both their government and Dorvik. They have also reverted from a republic to a kingdom, a sign of reactionary elements at play. Whilst we are internationalist, we refuse to negotiate diplomatically with monarchist and fascist governments. I'm sure the government of the previous Transitional Republic already saw my standing on the Mordusia-Saridan affair [Scattered laughter is heard across the Supreme Soviet]. But I digress. We will not tolerate such comments to our fellow socialist comrades across Terra. As we see our withdrawal from membership into the Northern Council, it seems that the motherland will have to search for allies elsewhere.
