Minister of Foreign Affairs Tormod Kopperud announced earlier this morning that Kazulia was willing to accept around 500,000 political refugees from the Istalian-Saridan exchange. The situation in Saridan resulted in an agreement between Istalian President Antonio Massa and Saridani President Curtis which outlined a 300 billion Lira deal for the release of 8 million persons from under the apartheid regime. Controversy and discord had risen out of the agreement as the Northern Council and Hawu Mumenhes have voiced disappointment and condemnation in the agreement. In Istalia, condemnation of the President's decision is mounting as spokesperson for the Radical Alliance, Simone Calenda expressed scepticism and concern for the situation, lambasting President Massa's decision as the alliance questioned the government's moves to contain the situation. Calenda's party expressed concern for various issues to be faced by the 8 million refugees such as housing and healthcare, citing the fact that the Istalian Republic could not handle the large influx of refugees.
In response to the resettlement situation, Minister of Foreign Affairs Tormod Kopperud stated that Kazulia was willing to accept around 500,000 refugees from the Istalian-Saridani exchange to be resettled in Kazulia. With Istalia concerned about the reintegration of the refugees, Kopperud stated that Kazulia has experienced similar issues posterior to its conflict with Hulstria and Dankuk which saw Kazulia resettle thousands of Dankukin and Hulstrian refugees fleeing their respective nations. He stated that 500,000 refugees would be reintegrated by the government in the interim as Kopperud also stressed on the security situation and their integration into the Federal Healthcare Assistance Programme (FHAP) and the Kazulian education system. Kopperud stated that the integration of the refugees would not come at a cost of the Istalian government but come potentially to the Kazulian people, however he highlighted the fact that the government had made contingency plans for the resettlement and integration of large amounts of refugees. According to Kopperud, the government had been development domestic infrastructure with the aims of accommodating for large-scale national events such as natural disasters and conflicts. President Sindre Granberg called on nations such as Lourenne and Hutori accept refugees in a similar manner to Kazulia.
