Son of Heaven sends gifts to Hawu monarchs ahead of World Tour

NATIONAL: News of Hawu preparations in advance of the Imperial World Tour has reached the Heavenly City. In response, the Tianshun Emperor has ordered the Imperial Household Agency to send a number of gifts to the Esintsundu monarchs.

Local media has said that the Esintsundu monarchs and the Morrison administration in Hawu Mumenhes have been preparing for the visit from Princes' Jianlong and Jianhao as "the state occasion of the year."

"His Imperial Majesty has been moved by the hospitality with which the Hawu are preparing to extend to his beloved grandsons," said Palace representative Yao Tiansheng, "thus, the Son of Heaven has extended his sincere appreciation to the Esintsundu monarchs."

The art of reciprocal gift-giving is an essential part of Indralan etiquette. Consequently, the Tianshun Emperor has always ensured that no courtesy extended to him or to his family goes unnoticed. This could be argued even more so for kindness extended to his (rumoured) favourite grandson, Prince Jianlong.

In acknowledgement of Her Imperial Highness Princess Imset's role as host to his grandsons, the Tianshun Emperor has sent the Hawu Princess a vast array of silk garments, jade jewelry and aged puer tea. To the Hawu Imperial Family at-large, the Tianshun Emperor has sent 10 national bows, a quarter-tonne of rice grown at the Sun Clan's private garden in Huzheng County, Jiaozhi, as well as a single suit of traditional bone and iron variegated armor.

NATIONAL: As Prince Jianlong celebrates his sixteenth birthday, bureaucrats at the Heavenly City are working around the clock to ensure that, this time next year, the Imperial World Tour will go off without a hitch.

Today, Imperial Household Agency Chief Secretary Li Yan provided some details to reporters:

"I began my day in conversation with Sir Stanley Carmicharel, Lord Chamberlain of the Hutorian Royal Family," said Li, "the Lord Chamberlain confirmed that the Emperor and Crown Princess themselves would serve as hosts to the Princes' during their stay in Hutori."

"We have arranged that the Imperial Fleet shall arrive at the Admiral Erik Steuart Naval Base in Axminister, after which the Princes' shall travel inland toward Bekenial, before departing from the northwestern coast."

Li continued by sharing details of the stopovers in Cildania and Selucia during the trip.

"The Cildanian administration very enthusiastically responded to news of the Imperial Tour. In Cildania, the Princes' shall be hosted by His Excellency, the President of Cildania."

"The Selucians, who have expressed their disappointment at having not had the opportunity to host His Imperial Highness Prince Kai in 4349, have also expressed their excitement with regard to the trip. Consul Zelotes Siskos and Caesar Atia Vinicia Gryllus shall receive the Princes' before embarking on a nationwide tour."

Li said that he has also spoken with the Deputy Prefect of Vanuku, who said that the Princes' will be held by the soon-to-be coronated King Juhn X.

Her Imperial Highness Princess Fengmian steals the show in Ananto, Kalistan
20-22 August 4395

Luxon, Island of Ananto, Kalistan: On the first stop of the Imperial World Tour, all attention has been centred on 14-year-old Princess Fengmian (granddaughter of the Tianshun Emperor). A princess who has largely been hidden behind the walls of the Heavenly City, international and domestic media clamoured at the opportunity to photograph her as she was greeted by locals upon arrival in Luxon.

The Princess was the first member of the Imperial Household to disembark from the ship, being greeted by three young girls with flowers; members of the local Indralan diaspora. In a display of egalitarianism and populism growingly observable among the younger generations of the Imperial Household, Princess Fengmian held the girls hands as she walked off the dock escorted by servants and guards.

Prince Jianlong met local leaders, including the Mayor of Luxon whilst his brother, Prince Jianhao, visited a local Indralan martial arts studio. The Princes' were not received by federal politicians and leaders, a detail which was underplayed by the Chief Secretary of the Imperial Household Agency Li Yan:

"Our time in Ananto was very brief, and the administration of Kalistan has many, many, many issues to deal with," said Li, "logistically, it was difficult to coordinate a meeting."

Ananto plays an important role in Indrala-Kalistan relations. In 3983, Indrala invaded the island in what has been known as the Ananto War. The war was part of a number of international conflicts which comprised the Great Terran War. During the war, Indrala completely levelled the Kalistani capital (Kaliburg) as well as much of the island from naval artillery fire. After the Indralan invasion was unable to continue following the Battle of Mt. Schmee, an armistice was signed on 1 January 4018, ending the war.

On the 21st, the travelling party departed north by horseback, arriving in Eveari in the early morning of the 22nd. From Eveari, the Princes' and their travelling party boarded the Imperial Fleet, en route to New Endralon/Kizenia.

Cetatea Albă, Tilarnia, New Endralon/Kizenia: Following a small stopover in Ananto, Kalistan, the Imperial Fleet sailed into the port city of Déltábor, Tiania late in the evening of August 23rd.

The Indralan royals spent the night aboard the ships of the Imperial Fleet. The following morning, New Endralonian National Police provided an escort to the Princes' and their horseback travelling party, weaving their way through the city and onward toward the capital through the rural farmland which comprises the Tiania region. The streets were flanked by hundreds of New Endralonians wishing the Princes' and their company a warm welcome; a manifestation of the close relations Indrala and New Endralon have shared for the past few decades.

The colourful fields of the vast Tiania Valley inspired many members of the travelling party. Lady Feihung took the time the create an ink and paper painting of the sights (featured above) while Prince Jianhao (photographed above) composed an instrumental song as an ode to the farmers of the region. Prince Jianlong also felt moved by the locals, such that he reflected, "who could have food on their tray, if not for the farmer and his toiling day?"

On the morning of August 26th, the Princes' and their company rode into Cetatea Albă, where they were greeted by Grand Chancellor Adrián Molnár and other members of the New Endralonian government, who hosted the Imperial travelling party at the Marble Palace. Here, Lady Feihung unveiled her painting while Prince Jianhao performed his song. After the performance, Prince Jianlong presented the Grand Chancellor with a white porcelain tea set and a large cloisonné vase from his grandfather, the Tianshun Emperor. After presenting the gifts, Prince Jianlong spoke to the New Endralonian officials about what he experienced on the trip.

"While travelling through your country, I had the opportunity to observe farmers of Tiania in their fields," the Prince said in accented, but proper Kizenian, "their dedication and zealous work ethic results in the production of 80% of the Confederation's agricultural output. It is this hardworking nature which is emblematic of the people of this nation. May our people share close relations for centuries to come."

It is also rumoured that during the trip, military delegates such as Yi Liancheng, Viscount Wang and other officers spoke with their New Endralonian counterparts, hoping to access their expertise on coastal artillery systems. As Indrala is an island, land-to-water defensive systems are an important component of rebuilding Indrala's defensive capabilities.

On the morning of August 27th, the Indralan travelling party met with leaders of the Indralan diaspora before boarding their ships and embarking toward Hutori.

Princes' compliment Mashacara Tribes during visit to Hutori

Bekenial, Adelia, Hutori: The Indralan Imperial fleet arrived in Axminister early this morning, after which the Princes' were invited to perform an Inspection of the 1st Fleet in port. The Princes' were greeted directly by Crown Princess Arianna and her new husband, Kazulian Crown Prince Avrid.

The Indralan travelling party was taken to Acton, where they were given a tour of the former Royal Palace, which serves now as the official residence of the Princess of Adelia, and then onto Bekenial. In the Hutorian capital, the Princes' and their company were the guests of the Steuart House, spending the night at the Royal Palace. At a welcoming ceremony held that evening, Prince Jianlong presented the Crown Princess with a decorative vase on behalf of his grandfather.

In the morning, the Princes' and their companions presented to President Okafor at 24 Orange Avenue, in which Prince Jianlong gave the President aged green tea and a porcelain tea set. The Princes' then met with Chancellor Rousseau at the House of Parliament, where the Chancellor personally gave a tour of the historic legislative building. Later, the Princes' travelled through St. Anslem, the historic capital and one of Hutori's oldest cities before pushing to St. Adrian, the provincial capital of Kenai. In St. Adrian, the Imperials were hosted by Prince Marcus, the Grand Duke of Kenai and toured Jameson University, the country's top law school and ironically the birthplace of Hutorian republicanism. During the tour, Prince Jianhao commented that "surely, an appreciation for higher education unites our people."

After a night the residence of the Grand Duke the Imperial group pushed onto Falristan, making a single stop in Tremaine to observe a traditional grass dance performed by the Mashacara tribes, whom are greatly respectably and admired by the Hutorian Royal Family. The Indralans were impressed by the performance, with Prince Jianlong sharing his thoughts on the performance with the Chiefs and his hosts:

"In the Indralan religious tradition [Guidao], we understand that we cannot approach nature as a thing to be mastered but as a partner in a relationship. Having the opportunity to witness the unique appreciation of the Mashacara people for nature, one cannot help but recognize their deep spirituality. Nature does not need to be perfected or improved. It is we who need to change; we need to come into accord. I thank the honourable chiefs and the performers for reminding me of this fact."

Following the performance, the Princes' departed from Corktown, following a final inspection of 4th Fleet. During the inspection of the 4th fleet, Prince Jianlong asked, "is this the same fleet which was deployed off Dalibor?" After the Hutorians responded that, indeed, this was the same fleet, the Prince nodded and said "that assistance is appreciated by Indrala today; it's always good when we can work together." The Emperor and Crown Princess of Hutori personally saw the Indralan Imperials off.

From the port, the travelling party embarked toward the Dorvish capital of Haldor. In the morning of September 3rd, the Princes' and their companions met with the Dorvish head of state Chairwoman Katrina Brandebourg. After the meeting, the Indralans spent the next two days travelling south through Dorvik. In the early morning of September 6th, the Princes' crossed the border into Kirlawa, from whence they continued to the port city of Salubris. Hawu monarchs host Indralan Imperials during highly anticipated tour stop
9-16 September 4395
Image

Image

Nekhatw, Saisyut, Hawu Mumenhes: During perhaps what had been the most anticipated stop of the Imperial Tour, the Princes' and their company spent seven days in Hawu Mumenhes as the guests of the ruling House of Saksoure. Unlike the highly itinerant nature of other stopovers, the Indralan Imperials spent the majority of their time in Hawu Mumenhes at the Nakhatw Palace, in that nation's capitol. It is widely assumed that this decision was orchestrated by the Indralan and Hawu governments, who are making intentional efforts at strengthening bilateral cooperation.

During their first night at the Nakhatw Palace, Princess Fengmian performed a traditional Indralan dance to the praise of her Hawu hosts. After this, Prince Jianlong handed the Esintsundu Empress, represented by her sister Princess Imset, a private letter from the Tianshun Emperor. The Prince also presented the Princess, in place of her sister, the Indralan Order of Friendship. Other gifts had already been sent by the Tianshun Emperor in advance of the Imperial Tour as an expression of gratitude for the Hawu reception of the Indralan party.

In the morning of September 10th, the Indralan Princes' were given a tour of some historical landmarks in and around the national capitol region. Princess Imset brought the Princes' to a Hawu pyramid in a jungle area north of Nekhatw. Upon seeing the structure (above) rising out of the thicket, Prince Jianlong commented that "these buildings are a testament to the brilliance of the Hawu people." He also shared some religious insights with his Indralan travelling party:

"We see, in these types of structures, the universality of all great civilizations of the world in a desire to try and reach Heaven. How blessed are we to live under the reign of His Imperial Majesty the Son of Heaven? May the Tianshun Emperor live and reign for ten thousand years, ten thousand years, ten thousand of ten thousand years!"

In the evening, the Imperial travelling party and their Hawu hosts attended a fashion show, exhibiting works of Hawu and Indralan couture. On the morning of September 11th, the Indralan Princes' were invited to the Hawu legislature to hear a throne speech from Princess Imset. At this event, Princess Imset will inducted Crown Prince Yinju and the Tianshun Emperor into Hawu orders, with Prince Jianlong as their representative. The Prince humbly thanked the Princess and stated that "it brings [him] great joy to see [his] father and Holy Grandfather honoured by people under heaven and carried by Terra."

During the formal state visit events, bureaucrats from the Indralan military, government opposition and their Hawu counterparts held a number of working sessions to develop strategies on how best to strengthen Hawu-Indralan relations. Due to Tian'an's republican government, not much is expected to immediately result from these meetings, though officials said that the talks went "very well," and that they predict much closer economic and security ties in the future. One of the most concrete developments from these talks came from academic officials, who reached a number of agreements on bilateral research, academic publishing and international student provisions.

The Princes' and their party spent the last five days of the trip in Hawu Mumenhes at the Nakhatw Palace. It is rumoured that the two royal families became rather amiable during this time, with Prince Jianlong personally instructing some of the younger Hawu nobles in the Way of Archery with Indralan bows which the Tianshun Emperor had sent one year prior. The Indralans departed from the Hawu capitol in the evening of September 16th, en route to Valruzia.
