Marquis Pays Respect to Frederick Coombes

Marquis Samuel has paid his respects to Frederick Coombes as it was confirmed he passed away after 10 years as Chancellor and Imperial Seal-Bearer, making it clear that whilst he had political differences with Mr Coombes and the SDP, he always respected his conviction and morality, especially in the face of growing extremism.



The SDP now serve as a minority administration without a Head of Government, Foreign Secretary or even Home Secretary. There seems to be an impasse in the Diet and between the different political Parties. The Marquis finished by saying he would reach out to Olof Plamquist, and gave him his best wishes.

HFU and Communist Party in Electoral Fraud Scandal

John Hitch of the Hosian Fascist Union and Fry Jackson of the Luthori Communist Party have been arrested and charged with electoral fraud, with the Luthori Communist Party being given a lifetime election ban by the Electoral Commission and the Hosian Fascist Union being handed a single election ban, despite Mr Hitch serving as Governor General at the time, a position he has now lost.

The news broke as the second election in 2 months was called after the Communists surprise collapse, it is now clear that the withdrawal was due to the impending criminal investigation as the Electoral Commission found they were receiving funding from the HFU in the hopes of taking votes from the SDP and SLP.



The HFU have held the Governor Generalship since their defeat of Charles Albert Brighton of the SDP in April 4397, Mr Brighton had served as Governor General for 10 years and took over from the HDU who served a single 3 year term after the White Rose collapse.

It is unknown what will happen but a new election has been called for next month and it is confirmed Mr Hitch has been released without charge, but will be unable to contest the election for the Head of State Office, or for any seats in the Diet for the Hosian Fascist Union.

5th Election in 3 Years See Possible Stability as White Rose Regain Lost Ground

It was the 5th election in 3 years, no one knew what was going to happen as the Communists had been banned and the Fascists were unable to contest this single election, and it benefited the White Rose. In the run-up to polling day, Frederick Stinson confirmed the White Rose would work with the SDP in the new Diet after the 2 parties had been able to repair their fractured relationship, and it means the White Rose won the Governor Generalship, as well as becoming joint largest Party in the Diet.

Marquis Samuel Weston has been elected Governor General, the first time the White Rose has won in 17 years, although there have been an historic 10 elections in that 17 year period. He continues the ongoing tradition that every Marquis Weston has held the top elected office in Luthori at some stage while they governed Youk Marquessate in Yodukan. He won in the second round with a convincing 32.8 million votes (59% ) to the SLP's 22.6 million (41%)





Turnout dropped slightly compared to 2 months ago, but remained at a healthy 86% as the White Rose took the plurality of votes and 124 seats, the same as the SLP. The SDP took 123 seats an the HTPP took 74, creating a more stable Diet with just 4 Parties represented.

The White Rose and SDP are expected to form a Coalition Government, it will be the first Government the White Rose have taken part in since 4389, and the SDP continue to serve in Government since 4384 when they first entered a Coalition with the White Rose.

New Governor General Takes Office and Lays Out Agenda

Marquis Samuel Weston has been sworn in as Governor General of the Holy Luthori Empire a week after the latest election, and in his maiden speech outside his own home in Youk before he moved to Fort William, he promised to bring stability over the next 4 years, and to work to overturn the extremism of the SLP, the Holy Patriarchate and the HFU.

He reconfirmed his commitment to the Northern Council, he condemned the continued slavery in Saridan, promised to raise slavery in Ewiges Thalleristisches Reich von Narikaton with the World Congress Anti Slavery Office, committed to repair relations with the Imperial Family of Indrala and promised to abolish VAT once more.

White Rose and SDP Form Centrist Coalition

The White Rose and Social Democratic Party have officially formed a Coalition Government, one they say will cover both centre left and centre right, with a more communicative and cohesive policy platform, in which the Parties can present Party legislation and Government legislation. Party legislation will be free votes whilst Government legislation will be agreed beforehand as official Coalition policy.

The White Rose hold the Departments of; Science & Technology, Food & Agriculture, Environment & Tourism, Justice, the Home Office and the Foreign Office. The Royalists lead the Coalition.

The SDP hold the Departments of; Infrastructure & Transport, Health & Social Services, Education & Culture, Trade and Industry, the MoD and the Treasury. Olof Palmquist will serve as Deputy Chancellor.

Foreign Office Authorises NC Radar Station in Geharon



The Foreign Office have authorised funds from their extensive budget to be allocated to the construction of a radar and listening station for the Northern Council in Geharon, as the Governor General affirmed he was pursuing Diet authorisation to take extended participation in Northern Council operations, as well as highlighting that authorisation to participate in military operations in Medina and Bianje remained active. The new radar station is expected to cost about £25 million and be operational in January 4399.

Governor General Dispatches Troops to Egelion for NC Support



The Governor General of Luthori has voiced his support for the Democratic Egelion government and authorised an initial 1,000 troops to Egelion to participate in Northern Council operations against Trigunian aggression. At the same time, the White Rose has presented a Bill in the Imperial Diet to authorise more extensive participation if needed and to authorise the extensive use of the new radar station under construction in Geharon for the Northern Council as a whole. The Governor General has limited capability to deploy military assets without Diet authorisation and the Foreign Office can allow limited access to radar stations for allies, the Bill would lift these restrictions for the Government and the Northern Council. It is not yet known if the Luthori Government favour greater participation in either the Egelion deployment of the ongoing operations in Bianje.

Governor General Names Twins as Ambassadors to Security Council and Northern Council



The Governor General has today appointed Harold and Malcolm Macdougall as Luthori Ambassadors to the Security Council of the World Congress and the Northern Council respectively. The pair are considered close allies of the Marquis, but the appointments of both to high Ambassador positions has caused a stir among other Ambassadors, who believed the appointments would be from one of their current number, not completely new. Ambassador Harold has already presented a resolution for the Security Council to condemn the Ewiges Thalleristisches Reich von Narikaton and their responsibilities for the reintroduction of the Slavery. Ambassador Malcolm is attending the Northern Council's 1st Defence Council Conference, were he has signalled the Governor Generals willingness to participate in more operations, including operations against the slave nations of Saridan and Narikaton.

State Visit to Indrala Confirmed for January 4398



The Office of the Governor General has confirmed that the first State Visit of the new term will be to 瑩大磖國 (State of Indrala), when the Marquis Samuel visits His Imperial and Royal Highness the Crown Prince Yinju at the Yincheng Mountain Retreat, Jiaozhi, Indrala in the new year.

The Governor General took the opportunity to apologise publicly to the Imperial Family of Indrala, and said that Grand Vizier Tarion of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Luthori did not and does not speak for the Government of the Holy Luthori Empire. He said, 'I was disappointed that the Imperial World Tour cut out Luthori because of the extremism of one group, but I hope to rectify that by visiting with the Son of Heaven myself, and apologising in person in my first official State Visit anywhere.'

Luthori Foreign Office Set to Take Action Against Slavery



In a stunningly passionate speech outside the Foreign Office, Foreign Secretary Stinson condemned both the Ewiges Thalleristisches Reich von Narikaton and the Republiek van Seridjan (Republic of Saridan) for the continued legal status of slavery and the slave trade. She gave Luthori's full hearted support to Resolution 57 before the Security Council on Saridan, and has instructed Ambassador Macdougall to present Resolution 58, a condemnation of the Ewiges Thalleristisches Reich von Narikaton. She called on all Security Council members to vote for the Resolutions and called on the World Congress Anti Slavery Office to take immediate action, as the Governor General himself advised the World Congress of the ongoing situation in Narikaton, naming the legislation which legalised slavery and the trade there-of for the Hawu Mumehes Ambassador.

In the Imperial Diet, Chancellor Frederick Stinson presented the Anti-Slavery Withdrawal Act 4397, which is an act to withdraw from the Narikaton Expanded Economic Cooperation Zone in protest against the Ewiges Thalleristisches Reich von Narikaton. Secretary Sharon Stinson said she was now giving consideration to a treaty to issue sanctions and warnings on both nations if they did not respond to WCASO before the new year with plans to outlaw slavery and the trade once more. She said, 'I will make it my mission to travel to every nation on Terra and convince them to ratify the Treaty, to sanction these inherently evil crimes which are to be utterly condemned and to make sure no one is left questioning Luthori's commitment on the Security Council, or our resolve to eliminate slavery and the trade in people across Terra.'
