Katonid Khanate

Postby cm9777 » Tue May 29, 2018 12:08 am

The Katonid Khanate controls much of Southern Jelbania following Baron Katona "The Butcher" Von Thallers invasion of Jelbania. Its capital is Katonagrad (Formerly Baofluz) and still led by the Deltarian Warlord who now declares himself Katona Khan. The other major city is known as Zog (formerly Jeztridomura). The region is quite desolate and poor due to the devastation brought about by Katona's initial invasion and also due to the general underdevelopment of Jelbania.

Deltarian Government to Normalise Relations with Katonid Khanate

Ever since Katona deserted the Thallerist Paramilitary Forces in Doron Akigo, he and his army have been wanted men in Deltaria. However, Matej Mäsiar, the Deltarian Foreign Minister has indicated he wants to normalise relations with the new Khanate to ensure the security of the border. Foreign Minister Mäsiar will visit Katonagrad next month to discuss the issue of relations between the two states. Deltaria is likely to be the first nation to fully recognise the Khanate as a Sovereign State.

Katona is a kinsman to the Grand Council and indeed invaded Jelbania to guard Deltaria's border. While it was a risky move that we thought would inflame tensions even more, it has actually guaranteed that we would no longer fear Jelbeks riding across the border to raid Deltaria. Given the situation, it is in our best interests to pursue diplomatic ties.

Deltarian Military Holds parade in Katonagrad along with Sons of Zog
January 4404
In a show of solidarity, Deltarian and Katonid Troops paraded through the city of Katonagrad (Formerly Baofluz) together to show their new relationship after a decade of relative diplomatic hostility. Members of the Grand Council and Katona Khan himself were present at the event. In the aftermath of the event, both parties travelled to Zog (formerly Jeztridomura) where they held a procession around the burial stone of Zog Thaller. Many of the families of soldiers during the period of the Jelbek invasion also travelled there to pay homage to their saviour. Katona then travelled into Deltaria itself where he and The Grand Council congregated to discuss further economic ties. They agreed not to raise tariffs on each other and to leave the borders between both nations open.

Royal Jeztri Shrine Blown Up, Zog's remains taken to Deltaria
August 4405

Following the outbreak of open war between the Northern Khaganate and the Katonid Khanate and the supposed "reemergence" of the Jeztri Royal Line, Katona "The Butcher" personally oversaw the destruction and looting of the shrine. Anything of value was first stripped from the building and burials itself before explosives were set off to destroy the complex. The only surviving body was that of Zog Thaller who was given the honour of being buried in the shrine following his death. The body was then taken across the border into Deltaria where he was buried in his namesake border town where he killed the invading Jelbek H'an more than a century ago. The video of the explosion was later uploaded to the internet and has gathered quite the viewing among Deltarian users. In the video, Katona gives a short speech about Jelbek atrocities and their "savage way of life" then mentioning the Jeztri clan as the cause of this. Katona then activates a remote detonator as the explosion can be seen in the background. The video ends with Katona promising the same fate to any similar Jelbek invasion force that would threaten Deltaria.
