Lodenice Hill Project Complete

Vladan Zima’s project to restore the battlefield of Lodenice is finally complete after years of work. The completed project has attracted many historians and tourists with its realistic recreation of the battlefield as it was in 1954. Many are impressed by the historically accurate equipment on offer which can be used for a price. This includes firing some of the weapons of that era, driving tanks and many more.

Deltarian Government to Normalise Relations with Katonid Khanate
May 4400
Ever since Katona deserted the Thallerist Paramilitary Forces in Doron Akigo, he and his army have been wanted men in Deltaria. However, Matej Mäsiar, the Deltarian Foreign Minister has indicated he wants to normalise relations with the new Khanate to ensure the security of the border. Foreign Minister Mäsiar will visit Katonagrad next month to discuss the issue of relations between the two states. Deltaria is likely to be the first nation to fully recognise the Khanate as a Sovereign State.

Katona is a kinsman to the Grand Council and indeed invaded Jelbania to guard Deltaria's border. While it was a risky move that we thought would inflame tensions even more, it has actually guaranteed that we would no longer fear Jelbeks riding across the border to raid Deltaria. Given the situation, it is in our best interests to pursue diplomatic ties.

Deltaria Finalising Negotiations with Kazulia
August 4401
Over the past few months, Deltarian and Kazulian Officials have been negotiating an agreement between the respective nations. it details plans for increased cooperation between Deltaria, Kazulia and the rest of the Kazulian led Northern Coalition. The agreement currently consists of plans for Kazulian investment in the Deltarian economy in exchange for Kazulian troops being permitted to have a military base in Deltaria. The agreement will likely be beneficial for both parties. Deltaria would receive significant investments to grow its economy further as well as gain a new partner of sorts as an associate of the Northern Council. Kazulia would be able to extend its influence into Majatra. It is unknown how the other great powers will respond such as Istalia and Vanuku. Both of which have significant power bases in Majatra.

Deltaro-Kazulian Agreement Complete
September 4401

The agreement between Deltaria and Kazulia has been completed and Deltaria will formally ratify it. It is expected that Kazulia will do the same in time. 200 Billion Kazulian Kronas are to be invested into the Deltarian Economy over an interdeterminate period of 10-20 years. In exchange for this, Kazulia and the Northern Council will be able to establish a military base in Deltaria, giving them a foothold in Majatra.

Deltaria to Host Foreign Minister of Narikaton
August 4402
Over the next few days, Deltaria will host Foreign Minister Udo Renner in Narikaton to discuss joint training exercises and the possibility of sharing military equipment. It is understood that both the cabinet and the grand council will meet with Renner to sort these issues out. Another speculated topic of discussion is that of the recent sanctions championed by Luthori. This puts Deltaria in a precarious position as arrangements were being made for a state visit by a Luthori Official to improve ties yet as joint thallerist states, Narikaton is an old ally that Deltaria cannot abandon.

Grand Council Formally Pardons Katona and the Sons of Zog
August 4403

Chair of the Grand Council Adawolf Von Thaller signed the papers for a full pardon given to Katona and the Sons of Zog for desertion. In front of an array of cameras, he presented his signature to the press and memebers of the public who had been allowed to attend. He gave the following statement after the event.

While Desertion is a serious crime, Katona did so to protect Deltaria from a potentially aggressive Jelbania which was reverting back to the rule of the aggressive Jeztris. At the time we had thought this mission would be a complete failure and cause significant diplomatic repercussions however, Katona and his men proved to be cunning and fearsome in eliminating this threat. Deltaria cannot be seen to throw its greatest protectors under the bus and we truthfully regret our decision to issue charges of desertion in the first place. A strong Katonid Khanate means a secure Border and every Deltarian can now feel safe that Katona and his brave men will meet any Jelbek threat that comes beyond the steppe.

Grand Council Orders Cabinet Reshuffle

January 4404

The Grand Council has formally asked that the current cabinet step down in favour of a new one. With the average age of the ministers being 75 years and having decades in office, it has been requested that successors be nominated by Governor General Augustin II Von Thaller nominate replacements and that he himself step down in favour of another at the next election. It is hoped that a younger and fresher cadre of ministers will ensure Deltaria continues its upward economic trend. Given the fact that Deltaria now has a security council seat, it is also hoped that new ministers will bring a fresh approach in a new world order.

Deltarian Military Holds parade in Katonagrad along with Sons of Zog
January 4404
In a show of solidarity, Deltarian and Katonid Troops paraded through the city of Katonagrad (Formerly Baofluz) together to show their new relationship after a decade of relative diplomatic hostility. Members of the Grand Council and Katona Khan himself were present at the event. In the aftermath of the event, both parties travelled to Zog (formerly Jeztridomura) where they held a procession around the burial stone of Zog Thaller. Many of the families of soldiers during the period of the Jelbek invasion also travelled there to pay homage to their saviour. Katona then travelled into Deltaria itself where he and The Grand Council congregated to discuss further economic ties. They agreed not to raise tariffs on each other and to leave the borders between both nations open.

Deltarian Economy on the Rise as Optimism for the Future Leads the Way
August 4404

With an agreement guaranteeing an investment of 200 Billion Kazulian Kronas over the next 10-20 years among other factors, confidence in the viability of the Deltarian Economy has soared. After the civil war in the 4350's, the reconciled sides worked together to reform the economy and bring about steady growth. Numerous corrupt officials were put on trial for their role in the money wasting investments in defence which resulted in record deficit and debt numbers. Ever since then, Deltaria has reintegrated its economy into the Majatran Alliance trading with nations such as Istalia. The Zardic Institute even upgraded Deltaria's economic status to that of a "Strong Economy" as a result of these economic integration projects. Projects by the famous Ogliarch Vladan Zima have brought in many tourists and historians as well as the marketing of the Zog Tv Series. Although Zog was not a bestseller overseas, it enjoyed significant national success. Many forecasters were sceptical whether this upward trend could continue or if it would dry out. The Kazulian Investment into the economy, the last and signature achievement of former foreign minister Matej Mäsiar has made the main Majatran Powers of Istalia and Vanuku wary and will likely lead to investment to counter the Kazulians. All of this has resulted in Deltaria turning into a money pit for foreign investors. Some experts worry that Deltaria has become too dependent on foreign investment and should this foreign capital dry up, trouble could be ahead. For now it seems, Deltaria will have ample time to ensure that its own industries are able to compete with the other world economies.

It is clear that the Deltarian Economy is on the rise however, it will be up to the policies of the new cabinet to ensure it remains that way for years to come.

Luthori Foreign Secretary to Visit Deltaria this Month
January 4405

Later this Month, Luthori Foreign Secretary Sharon Stinson will visit Deltaria to discuss furthering diplomatic ties and as a formal meeting between the Governor General Augustin II Von Thaller and herself. It is understood that the Grand Council will also be present at this meeting.

Zima to build Railway into the Khanate
January 4405

Deltarian Ogliarch Vladan Zima, known for his ventures in tourism and entertainment has undertaken a project to link the Deltarian railway network to Katonagrad and to a few border towns where the Katonid Khanate borders the other Jelbek states. This would allow easy travel from there all the way from the Kalopian Border into the Jelbek steppe. While a wealthy man himself, he is seeking financial support from the Deltarian Government to aid in this venture. In a recent interview Zima also indicated that he'd be interested in a trans-Majatran railway but that the current political situation in Jelbania and uncertain Governmental policies on such a move made it infeasible at this time. Zima is rumoured to be lobbying foreign governments to gain funding for such a project.
