Kaiser Friedrich II crowned at KienOctober 4415His Imperial and Most Illustrous Luthoran Majesty, Friedrich II, in military uniform, observing a RBW paradeKien, Hulstria With magnificent ceremony at Kien's National Cathedral today, Friedrich II von Rothingren-Traugott-Okatori was crowned Kaiser of Hulstria today in the presence of the members of the Imperial Assembly, the members of the Imperial House of Kurosawa, the Governor-General, the clergy of the Luthoran Church, his father Kaiser Otto IV, foreign dignitaries and citizens from across the Crownlands. On the morning of the coronation, Kaiser Otto IV signed the Act of Abdication which had been passed by the Imperial Diet, at which point the Crown descended on his son. In itself, this was a historic occasion: it is a rare event for a Rothingren-Traugott monarch to abdicate the throne to his heir.
The ceremony began after a grand procession by the new Kaiser and his wife, Empress Laurentine, from Fliederbrunn Palace to the Cathedral, where an honour guard led by RBW Commandant General Christoph Ernst was ready for inspection. After being saluted, General Ernst would proceed into the Cathedral to command the opening of the doors, being the sole bearer of arms to escort His Imperial and Most Illustrous Luthoran Majesty in. Kneeling before the altar as the magnificent
Coronation Hymn by composer Theophilus Hubertus Rainard was performed by the choir of the National Cathedral, he was then asked to take the oaths required of him, which were as follows and similar to the oaths sworn by the Luthori Emperor.
The Archbishop of Kien: Will you solemnly promise and swear to govern the Peoples of the Empire of Hulstria, consisting of your Crownlands of Hulstria, Budenlar and Kuratha, and of your Possessions and other Territories to any of them belonging or pertaining, according to their respective laws and customs?
The Kaiser: With the Help of God Almighty, I so do swear.
The Archbishop of Kien: Will you to your power cause Law and Justice, in Mercy, to be executed in all your judgments?
The Kaiser: "With the Help of God Almighty, I will."
The Archbishop of Kien: Will you to the utmost of your power maintain the Laws of God and the true word and life of the Annunciation? Will you to the utmost of your power maintain in the United Kingdom the Confessional and Apostolic Faith established by law? Will you maintain and preserve inviolable the settlement of the Church in Hulstria and Gao-Soto, and the doctrine, worship, discipline, and government thereof, as by law established in Hulstria and Gao-Soto? And will you preserve unto the Bishops and Clergy of Hulstria and Gao-Soto, and to the Churches there committed to their charge, all such rights and privileges, as by law do or shall appertain to them or any of them?
The Kaiser: With the Help of God Almighty, I will. I so do swear, so help me Almighty God.
The Governor-General: Your Imperial and Most Illustrous Luthoran Majesty - do you swear that you shall, to all the people of the United Imperial Crownlands, be ever an honourable and just ruler; that you shall uphold, protect and champion the Basic Law of the United Imperial Crownlands, its unity, sovereignty and democracy; that you shall uphold the crown of your brother Emperor, Yoshinaga of Gao-Soto, and of his heirs and descendants according to the law; and that you shall exercise your Imperial power and personal efforts for the benefit of all citizens of the United Imperial Crownlands, Hulstrian and Gao-Showan, in their national interest?
The Kaiser: With the Help of God Almighty, I so do swear.
The Emperor then proceeded behind a screen to be anointed by the Archbishop of Kien and Primate of Greater Hulstria, Remigius von Hortensiengau. When he emerged, he was greeted with a Hulstrian adaptation of the
Imperial Lauds, traditionally also in a setting by Rainard, the ancient hymn also used in the coronation of the Augustan Emperors:
Hosios, erhöre uns / Hoch Leb' unser Herr, vom Gottes Gnaden Haupt der Kirche (Hear us, O Hosios / Long life to our lord, by God's Grace Head of the Church)
Hosios, erhöre uns / Hosios, erhöre uns (Hear us, O Hosios / Hear us, O Hosios)
Retter der Welt / Du allein bist unser Hilfe (Saviour of the World / You alone are our help)

So sei es immer / Alleluia. (As it ever shall be / Alleluia)
Alleluia, Alleluia / Amen. (Alleluia, Alleluia / Amen)
Alleluia, Alleluia / Amen. (Alleluia, Alleluia / Amen)
After the conclusion of the Lauds, the Emperor would be seated on the throne, after which he would receive the Imperial regalia from the Archbishops of Kien and Labsburg and the Bishop of Anderinch, each with a corresponding prayer. The Emperor would then be crowned with the Hulstrian Imperial Crown, after which the Governor-General would proclaim three times:
"Gott' erhalt den Kaiser!" After a ceremonial reception of homage from nobles, government officials and citizens, the Emperor then receded from the Cathedral while the Hulstrian Imperial Anthem
For the Monarchy was played.
As the RBW brought a gun salute from the Imperial Diet Complex to the newly-crowned Emperor, the Emperor proceeded back in his carriage to Fliederbrunn, where a magnificent banquet was hosted in his honour with all who attended the coronation in attendance. Before mounting the open-top carriage, the Emperor invited Emperor Yoshinaga, his wife and Crown Princess Kinuye to ride with him, Empress Laurentine, and his heir, Archduchess Franziska, much to the delight of the crowds. The way was lined with thousands of Crownlander citizens, both from Hulstria and Gao-Soto, enthusiastically singing the national anthem, Land of Our Fathers.
