Selected Headlines for November 4417:

House of Jiyu Opens Flagship Store in Zhijia City
The first retail storefront of Jiyu's fashion house, which is to serve as the company's central flagship, has opened in Zhijia City's premier shopping district. Plans are already in the works to open addition stores within Kaizhou. The House of Jiyu store is a mix of eclectic fashion and lifestyle products, including not just clothing but also home goods and furnishings. While the core label, organized under the branding of L.Jiyu, is crafted a high-end fashion line, the bulk of the House of Jiyu's products resemble that of a diffusion line, offering luxury designs at more affordable prices. So far Jiyu's retail venture has been well received though much of the foot traffic certainly comes from Jiyu's intrigue and from curiosity for the unique layout and design of the House of Jiyu store, something that mirrors Jiyu's Dollhouse.

Construction Halted on Yincheng Theme Park
Only eight months since construction officially began, the Yincheng Amusements Holding Company has halted all construction on its unnamed amusement park north of Yincheng. In fact, it appears that the project may have been completely shuttered, an enormous loss for any investors in this obscure, perhaps even destined to fail, project.

Kaizhou Citizens Concerned About Gang Activity
There is growing concern among some Kaizhou citizens regarding nefarious business groups that are allegedly commanding shady businesses in some of the city’s smaller commercial districts. While immediate questions are aimed in the direction of triad organizations, there are also rumors of a kanpa splinter group operating in one of Kaizhou’s poorest Kyo neighborhoods in the outer edge of the city.

Jiyu’s Car Stolen in Zhijia City, Recovered in Fehua Bay
A thief remains at large in Kaizhou and police have no leads. The iconic polka-dot car, owned by Lü Jiyu was stolen from her mansion overnight. The car was soon discovered in the Fehua Bay, along the property of a Xiandai port facility. Jiyu has placed blame on Tang Sulan, albeit without any ounce of proof.

TQ Group calls Marina City protestors "FCR-paid agitators"

Reporters and community leaders gather at the new TQ Star Hotel Jugang in Marina City for a press briefing

JUGANG, Jiaozhi Province: Following a two-day protest in central Jugang against the Marina City development, Vice-Chairwoman of TQ Group Tang Sulun has flown in to address the situation. The TQ Group announced early this morning that Tang would hold a press availability at the new TQ Star Hotel Jugang in the Marina City development.

"These protestors have been paid and backed by the FangCaiRyeo Group," Tang started, before gesturing to the ballroom: "As you can see, they're a little too late."

Indeed, the protests against Marina City have only begun in the last phase of development, with all towers currently undergoing decorating and furnishing before the Grand Opening next month. This has led to speculation that the protests have been orchestrated, though there is no evidence to back up this speculation.

Tang invited a number of Jugang citizens from all age demographics to discuss their views on the project. One elderly woman discussed how pleased she was that her grandchildren will be able to stay in Jugang due to the economic impact of the project. One young high-school student shared how he was able to secure a part-time job at a store in Marina City after months of searching in the bear-ish Jugang job market. "Now I'll be able to help send my little sister to university," he said through tears. "I can be a filial brother and son without having to move hundreds of kilometres away."

"As you can see, this project is having a real impact in strengthening the economic and social foundation of this community," Tang said after the guests. "It's unfortunate that a giant conglomerate like FCR, which was found outmanoeuvred and with its pants down, has chosen to stir up anxieties for their own selfish gain."

Tang continued to claim that much of the social media stir generated by the protests was the work of bots. "Whether they're FCR-funded or not is unclear, but regardless it is concerning how these tactics continue to be on the rise in Indrala. I call on the government to investigate these activities."

Speaking also about Zhijia City Chairwoman Lü Ae-cha and her husband Luk Kwong Yi, who have become de-facto figureheads of the protest, Tang was dismissive.

"What Luk truly represents is another young man, forced to leave this town because elite interests like FCR have tried to halt development at every turn. There's a reason he, like so many others, chose to move to big Kaizhou. And there's another reason why he, and his wife, a daughter of the FCR Lü's, have suddenly re-appeared. If the Lü's truly care, let's see them match our commitment to Jugang materially."

Marina City is scheduled to open on November 1st, on schedule.

Luk Kwong Yi Promises to Persist in Fight Against TQ
17 October 4417

Luk Kwong Yi, now finding himself at the center of the anti-Marina City protests in Jugang, has declared he will continue to lead efforts to curb excessive urban development in his hometown. Speaking to reporters from his parent's home in outer Jugang, Luk expressed his disgust at the dismissive attitude of the TQ Group and criticized their branding of opponents as paid agents of the FCR Group. To be closer to the issue, Luk also stated that he will be moving back to Jugang, along with his and Ae-cha's son, who will soon be enrolling in the Haejo Imperial College.

The plan follows intense fighting between FCR and TQ

Rendered image of possible sector of the planned "Sky City"

KAIZHOU, Jiaozhi Province: Indralair, backed of the major Xiandai Group, has just announced plans for building up a "sky city" around the Kaizhou International Airport.

Following the ideas of the popular Zhijia City, and contentious Marina City in Jugang, the development will apparently display state of the art eco-friendly and smart technology into it's core infrastructure. While a variety of plans have been released to the public, the leading plan has large number of sectors surrounding the airport's main hub, as well as connecting into the terminals themselves.

"What we hope to do with this development is stimulate the local economy around the airport," said an Indralair representative, "as well as revitalizing the tourism industry which was nearly destroyed during the years of republican rule in Indrala."

The "city" will feature multiple districts, each housing a variety of high-end stores, housing, and businesses. With the company hoping to draw a number of corporations into building regional headquarters and branches within the development, with its quick access to a major international airport.

"We are going to be radically changing the way the Kaizhou International Airport will function," reported Ren Xuefeng, project leader for Indralair's "Sky City", "and all of Kaizhou will reap the benefits."

Indralair has seemed to have learned from the tension over Marina City, as they have also announced multiple town halls where local residents can go over plans for the city, and give input to the company. Ren also reportedly said that affordable housing would be established within the city.

Dr. Cheng Ah Hospitalised
17 November, 4417

NATIONWIDE NEWS: Dr. Cheng Ah, Party Leader of the SDP, has reportedly been admitted to an undisclosed hospital in Tian'an last night. This comes only two months after the establishment New Dawn-Lotus-SDP coalition won a landslide victory, regaining a majority in National Assembly, and only seats away from a supermajority when combined with other "National Unity" parties. It is believed his condition might be quite serious, with the party leader nearing his 80th birthday. No information on whether a interim Party Leader will replace Dr. Cheng has been announced.

BREAKING: Lü Seongmin Announces Retirement
18 November 4417

In a sudden announcement, Chairman of the FangCaiRyeo Group, Lü Seongmin has shared with the public his intention to resign at the end of the month. But while it is a surprise to the public, planning for this resignation has been in the works since the summer and Lü Daejung is slated to take the place of his father in leading Indrala’s second largest caizu. As he prepares to take on this leadership role, Daejung has expressed optimism for the FCR Group's future and shared his plans to continue the company's growth nationally and internationally.

This transfer of the FCR Group's leadership from a Lü to another Lü is a first in the company's history, as previous transitions switched between the Lü, Fang, and Cai families. Surely this is a sign of the Lü's increasing control over most of the caizu's operations. Many challenges remain for the caizu as it faces fierce competition with TQ Group as well as the occasional bad press caused by Jiyu's outbursts or Tang Sulan's paid protestor accusations.

Lü Seongmin, currently age 82, has no plans beyond a quiet retirement, away from the spotlight.

Additional Headlines for November 4417:

Zhijia Grand Hotel To Open Resort in Keymon
Early design concepts have been unveiled for the FCR Group’s first international hotel opening. Branded as the Zhijia Grand Hotel Keymon, plans for the resort come following efforts by the Keymon government to development the island as a resort destination. Other Indralan caizu have declined expansion to Keymon citing concerns over the value of such investment.

House of Jiyu Takes on FCR’s Fànsīzhé
Announcing an annual fashion show to take place in Kaizhou, the House of Jiyu has taken aim at Fànsīzhé and their own fashion house events. Coupled with an ambitious art exhibition and community fundraiser, Jiyu hopes to dismantle Fànsīzhé as a dominant power in the fashion industry, stealing the spotlight in favor of her own newly established brand.

Zhijia Telecom First to Offer 5G Speeds
Unleashing its 5G network speeds within the next month, Zhijia Telecom has become the first Indralan mobile provider to offer this cutting edge technology. Developed in partnership with Zhijia, the 5G announcement joined the unveiling the newest Prospero smartphone, boasting enhanced biometric features and high-resolution front and rear cameras.

Zhijia Grand Hotel Expands to Tian’an and Hazhou
The Zhijia Grand Hotel has officially opened in Tian’an and Hazhou. Both located on prime real estate in both cities, the Zhijia hotel chain continues on its trajectory to establish itself as Indrala’s top luxury hospitality establishment. And following Indralair’s announcement of the Kaizhou “Sky City,” Zhijia Grand Hotel is planning to open a branch in the new planned city.

Lü Ae-cha Stable After Car Accident
Following a bad accident 100 miles out of Jugang, the Zhijia Chairwoman's family has shared that Ae-cha is stable and making a quick recovery. It is reported that Ae-cha was run off the highway on a rural section of the coastal highway during the night and investigators say Ae-cha is lucky to be alive as her vehicle was very near to tumbling off a cliff into the ocean. Police continue to investigate. This is the second unsolved criminal incident involving a member of the family of Lü Jiyu.

1 May 4418
Image

The initiative being led by Lü Jaewoo, New Dawn is exploring the implementation of digital democracy at the metropolitan level. Being linked to Indralan identity cards, already legally required for all citizens, the project will explore the potential to enable internet voting and polling for city elections and council-related issues. This is coupled with a complete redesign of municipal websites, creating greater ease of access and increasing the level of government transparency. Ultimately, the project aims to bolster civic engagement and to establish the means for the creation of a more responsive and representative government.

Investigators have not disclosed how they arrived at this conclusion but they’ve assured the public that they are fully confident in this finding.

Street of Jiyu’s Mansion Officially Declared “JiyuTown”
8 May 4418

Transforming from a low-density residential street, a new environment has emerged around Jiyu’s Mansion, bringing in a variety of street vendors and unique shops owned by local artists and creators. The roadway, which used to be open to traffic, has now been shut down and repaved with colorfully designed bricks, concrete, and greenery. This newly established pedestrian street has officially been branded as JiyuTown by the Zhijia City Central Committee, an acknowledgement of the area’s status as a go-to destination within the district and Kaizhou as a whole. While often lively on any night, JiyuTown has become especially busy on weekends as the street often fills with musical performers and, at least once a month, Jiyu hosts a large art and fashion festival.

Kaizhou Mayor Takes Aim at Organized Crime
13 May 4418

Mayor Lü Yeongja has devoted new resources to Kaizhou’s law enforcement to combat organized crime that has emerged in some parts of the city. While there are still many questions about the presence of the triads in Kaizhou, covert efforts by the police have confirmed organized criminal activity surrounding smaller Kyo communities. This Indralan “kanpa,” or Kyo mafia, has preyed on small business owners while also profiting off of their own operations with bars and lounges in some of Kaizhou’s commercial districts. Mayor Lü and law enforcement leaders hope to crush any further growth in the kanpa, not only to curb crime in Kaizhou but to also prevent the emergence of conflict with native triad organizations.

Indralair, Royal Airlines, and FlyIndrala to form Tiankong Group

Planned Tiankong Group headquarters in Tian'an

TIAN'AN, Han Province: In a move that will create a near monopoly over domestically controlled airways within Indrala, the nation's three major airlines: Indralair, Royal Airlines, and FlyIndrala have agreed to form a conglomerate named the Tiankong Group.

The group seems to obviously specialise in taking people across the globe; however, with the current development within the Kaizhou International Airport, the group is unlikely to stay single-minded for much longer.

Experts seem to be divided over the idea of Tiankong, with many worried that the group can now raise prices drastically. But, others are still optimistic, calling it an opportunity to create a cheaper, easier way into Indrala.

Ren Xuefeng, who had recently taken over Indralair, will reportedly become the owner of the conglomerate, but it is currently unsure if Ren will keep company power within family, much like other caizus, or have a more liberal approach.

New Tiankong Group to bring "Sky City" to Mundawan, Tian'an

Construction has already begun of Sky City Mundawan

MUNDAWAN, Min Province: After what has undoubtedly been a major success in the opening of Sky City in Kaizhou, the Tiankong Group has announced that it will be building new Sky Cities in Mundawan and Tian'an.

"I'm excited by the prospect of building these portals to Indrala, elsewhere," said Ren Xuefeng, "its done so much good around Kaizhou, and I can't wait to see how it helps our next destinations. And, we won't forget how we've managed to get here: the company will still be holding townhalls and conferences for local residents."

These new sites will be no less important than Kaizhou, with Sky City Tian'an having plans to be home to the new Tiankong Headquarters, which are currently in Kaizhou, by next year. So far, each of the cities has planned around busy international airports, and its unknown if Tiankong will build in smaller cities. There have; however, been leaked plans of possible international expansion in the coming years.

It has also been reported that quite a few plots of land in and around Mundawan have mysteriously been bought up by Tiankong, despite not being near the airport.
