Change wants end of sanctions on Dundorf, looks forward to the reestablishment of diplomatic and economic relations
ISHINAWA - Change has declared it is in favour of the end of sanctions on Dundorf, what would reestablish economic and diplomatic relations between the two countries after 22 years. The party may soon present a bill in the Grand Senate to move in that direction and take Sekowo out of an international treaty launching sanctions on Dundorf because of the "red menace". For Michi Kurosawa, the current de facto Minister of Head of Government, it is the best option Sekowo has and it will only benefit it. It will bring the two countries closer and bring more money to both countries that according to him have been losing too much with these non-sense sanctions.
However, there are some who oppose this move accusing the government of supporting communism. The spokesperson for Change has responded to those accusations saying "We don't believe communism to be a threat and we know those who are well-informed also believe that. Only those who lead communist societies can turn them into a threat and so the real threat isn't communism but the leader. People always find a way to threaten others. People have a natural ability to turn something inoffensive into something really dangerous, that's the problem. When good people are in charge of good ideas everything goes fine. Communism may probably be too extreme for us but we must admit it's a better idea than this exploitive capitalism that subjugates the majority to the will of a few on the top. Communism has good ideas, capitalism has good ideas but if we criticize communism for whatever bad it has caused then we must also criticize capitalism for whatever bad it has caused. We can't oppose communist regimes while supporting exploitive capitalist regimes that serve the interests of a privileged minority. That's unfortunately what we've been doing. We have had for too many years, unfortunately, an exploitive capitalist regime. Fortunately, that is changing and it will keep changing because this country is ready for change and when the people are ready there's nothing holding us back".

Constitution to be changed, 2 Million Sekowans were involved
ISHINAWA - For almost 3 months, around 2 million Sekowans joined together to make changes to the country's constitution. The result is now being presented in the Grand Senate of Sekowo, possibly National Diet in the soon future, by the political party Change, the only one with representation in the legislative assembly. From the flag to the country's motto and its anthem, the most important things will be changed. The new anthem includes statements in support of workers' rights and makes clear the priority are the poor, for "our common good". It calls on people to healp each other and to do everything in their lives with zeal. It also characterizes Sekowans as respecteful and solidary. It doesn't forget the fight against tyranny, removing, however, negative references to communism, and constantly reminds us that Sekowo is the "land of the free".
While many have showed satisfaction with the new constitution, others have criticized it and accused the governing party of trying to bring its own ideology to the country's symbols. Michi Kurosawa, Head of Government, said "We see in this amendment to the consitution a way of showing what we truly are and can be. We see commitment on our part for a better world where peace and love rule. Our new flag gives us new hope, our new anthem gives us new inspiration, our new motto gives us better ways of treating each other. Our constitution should reflect what we want to be and we deeply believe this new constitution reflects what we want for this country. A revolution in the way not just our politics works but in the way our society works too". One thing is for sure, these changes to the constitution will have lasting impact in Sekowo and will put Change and its leaders on the map.

The Secret Deplorable War on LGBTQI+ Teens
ISHINAWA - A new report has found a secret war has been waged on LGBTQI+ teens. The war involves ignoring them in school in favour of straight teens and promoting their conversion through medieval practices. Rainbow Coalition, founded and led by the Prime Minister Michi Kurosawa's brother, Yoshiro Kurosawa, partnered with the Foundation for Individual Rights to come up with a report, involving more than 40 thousand LGTBQI+ teens and young adults, that reveals what the youngest members of the LGBTQI+ community are facing.
According to the report, alarming 17% have went through conversion therapy and in total 36% have been told to some time in their lives. 32% have had suicidal thoughts and 53% have been victims of depression. 66% have been bullied for their sexual orientation or gender identity. The numbers are worse among bisexuals and transexuals. Among transexuals the numbers are the most alarming with 77% of them having had suicidal thoughts. The same report includes data gathered from tens of thousands of straight teens and young adults. Among them, 4% have had suicidal thoughts, 9% have been victims of depression and 31% have been bullied. These same tens of thousands of straight teens and young adults responded to questions related to LGBTQI+ rights and their relations with LGBTQI+ people. 87% know of someone who is openly LGBTQI+ and 12% say they know of someone who took his/her/their life away because of prejudice shown against his/her/their sexual orientation or gender identity. However, only 48% have no problem in supporting same-sex marriage and 43% adoption by same-sex couples. When it comes to banning conversion therapy, however, 63% support the idea admiting it to be an inhumane practice that harms young people and puts their lives and future in jeopardy. These numbers reveal there's still a long way to go and probably more needs to be done when it comes to Sekowo's laws. Change has come forward to support more legislation in support of the rights of the LGBTQI+ community and has shown willingness and commitment to present it the fastest possible.

Conversion therapy is now unconstitutional
ISHINAWA - The main political party in Sekowo, Change, that controls the National Diet and the government has achieved many successes while in power but now it made something no other country has had the guts to do, declare conversion therapy unconstitutional. The practice that has as a goal changing LGBTQI+ people's, specially young people, sexual orientation has been considered inhumane and harmful to those targeted. Many teens in Sekowo have been subjected to that practice and the results have been catastrophic. Depression and suicidal thoughts are common among LGBTQI+ teens but those numbers hit unbearable numbers when it comes to those that are subjected to conversion therapy. A recent report found that 93% of those who have gone through conversion therapy have had suicidal thoughts. The LGBTQI+ community, teachers, parents, allies, friends, organizations, all have fought for years to see the practice banned. Now it's done but much is still to be done. However, the National Diet passed what can be considered the most progressive and advanced legislation when it comes to the rights of the LGBTQI+ community. Schools will get involved in Pride, will have LGBTQI+ groups, will have inclusive sexual education directed not only to straight students but also to LGBTQI+ ones and will start teaching the LGBTQI+ community's history and culture. Parents will get help on how to support their LGBTQI+ children and those who mistreat or abuse them will suffer the consequences and lose the right to parenting. LGBTQI+ teens will also have access to free counseling provided by the government.

Libertarian Opposition Party, Established

Sickened by the tyranny of socialism, irriatated by the narrative of forced inclusion of deviant personalities, and driven by a love for liberty a new generation has stepped up to the plate to oppose the current administration they call themselves Revival.

Revival is dedicated to pursuing the rights of life, liberty, and property alongside a free market economy and a limited form of government it wishes to maximize individuality and minimize collectivism in hopes of transforming society.

Men, Women and Intersex
ISHINAWA - Legislation to officialy recognise intersex people and their gender as the third, along with male and female, has been approved in the National Diet. That means there's not just men and women but also intersex people. The Constitution of Sekowo has been changed to acommodate these changes and now recognises the same rights to intersex people as it does to men and women all over the country. Public opinion is divided on the subject but intersex people reveal deep gratitude towards the responsibles for the passage of the new law and believe it will help them become more acepted in society and have happier lives with the same opportunities as others.

Socialists disband while Libertarians take over

Its been roughly a five days since the ruling Socialist party known simply as Change silently disbanded far from the public eyes of those it once governed. The disbandment of Change was for many opposed to its policies of economic intervention a welcomed affair as the former opposition party Revival took control thus beginning the long road to peace and prosperity away from yesterdays bondage.

Sekouo Sees Founding of New Party

The political landscape of Sekouo saw changes today following the formal founding of the Teikoku Kōmeitō (Imperial Government Openness Party); the party, while still in its formulative process has stated its positions on several issues, leading many pundits to describe it as economically Left of Center to Moderate Left, Socially Liberal and supportive of the reintroduction of the Imperial Throne under the Ishida Dynasty; the proposed monarch being Crown Princess Akatsuki Ishida.

Ishida Dynasty Re-Enters Politics

Following generations of private life (a result of the Imperial Abdication long ago) the Ishida Dynasty has re-entered politics.
While rumours continue to fly and the Dynasty remains relatively quiet on its positions what is known is that the Dynasty has retained its ancient system of Matrilineal Primogeniture and has connections to the newly founded Teikoku Kōmeitō.
