Yao Ling announces engagement with Ren Guanting; Xuefeng responds
The two seem to be a true power couple in Indralan economics and nobility
Image

Ren Guanting, next in line for control of the Tiankong Group

KAIZHOU, Jiaozhi Province: Yesterday evening diners at the Fehua Inn were greeted with a beautiful and joyous sight, as noble Yao Ling proposed to Ren Guanting in the famous restaurant's ocean view dining room.

Both Yao and Ren are important people in Indralan society, although few probably know of Yao's existence. Yao Ling is, from his mother's side, a member of the Cheng family of Kaizhou. The family currently owns three palaces across Jiaozhi, and the patriarch holds the titles of Duke of Kangkai and Marquis of Mei Cheng Palace, bestowed by the emperor. Yao has said that both his father and grandfather, the current Marquis of Mei Cheng Palace, have agreed to the match.

On the other side of the couple, Ren Guanting is first daughter of Ren Xuefeng, the independent minded CEO of the Tiankong Group. Besides being just related to the mover behind one of Indrala's fastest growing conglomerates, Guanting is actually first inline for the position, after Xuefeng announced the role would stay within the family. Although it seems that her parents have consented to the match, Ren Xuefeng was sure to create precautions in regards to her beloved company.

In announcement the CEO spoke, "first of all, let me say that I love both my daughter and her fiancé'," said Ren, "however, I have to protect my company's interests." The plan enacted by Ren says that only a family member with the last name Ren can inherit the caizu, and that priority would be given to female members of the family. This means that the possible heirs after Ren either must come from her brother's side, or if she has a daughter who decides to change to the last name Ren.

Cheng Yu comes out in online video
The member of the Cheng Clan comes out, leading to possible controversy

Snapshot of Yu Cheng in his video

KAIZHOU, Jiazohi Province: Yesterday, Cheng Yu, a member of the Cheng clan, and a Kaizhou local, posted a video online in which he confessed that he was gay.

The video was quickly spread around the internet, and led to mixed reactions in the comments. Support seemed to overwhelmingly pour in for the 24 year old. A large number of these included lgbt and civil rights activists, as well as seemingly a large amount of progressive Kaizhou and Jiaozhi residents. One large group that took the side of Cheng was Equality Indrala, a lgbt rights organization based in Kaizhou. Cheng's brother also seemed to show his support.

However, not all who viewed the video seemed to support Cheng. The Jiaozhi Coalition of Conservative Parents appeared to play a large role in many of these comments. One member wrote, "this is a disgusting breach of tradition. I can't believe we could allow something like this in an institution that's supposed to instill morals in our children." It is important to note that the coalition is known for their lack of acceptance of modern culture and civil rights, formerly being known for protesting Ying-pop.

Such an announcement would likely not gain this much traction, but since Cheng Yu is a member of a noble clan, greater controversy has spread about the video. The Cheng Clan is likely more in the spotlight then they've ever been, as they are usually a quiet, but philanthropic family. It is currently unknown how the nobles will reacts, as they often seem likely to be conservative to outsiders. The Cheng Clan has yet to respond to our questions, or provide a statement.

BREAKING: Patriotic Society Disqualified from Elections
Investigations into suspected fraud and illegal financing have barred the party from participation in 4455.
____________________________________________________________________________________________

TIAN'AN, Han Province: Emerging from accusations of a conflict of interest between the Patriotic Society and Lim Son Ah Properties, investigators became aware of numerous unidentifiable financial transactions related to the party, Zhou Wai-fung, and a Dalibor shell company. While Zhou has yet to be directly implicated in what has been determined to be illegal financing of the Patriotic Society, he remains a person of interest in continued investigations of Lim Son Ah. Additionally, relating to the Dalibor transactions, it was found that fraud had been committed by leaders of the Society's Northern Conference, supposedly involving paying for votes and attempting to cast ballots on the behalf of deceased voters.

Due to the illegal practices of the Northern Conference, the entirety of the Patriotic Society is being investigated to determine if there is party-wide illegal practice and to identify any complicit figures, again with Zhou Wai-fung as a specific person of interest. Consequently, the Patriotic Society has also been stripped of its recognition as an authorized party to participate in elections, barring the party from the 4455 elections. Many of the current legislators from the Patriotic Society are seeking to still stand for election independently. An early attempt has already been made to form a new party in the place of the Patriotic Society but its application was denied by the electoral commission due to the general investigations surrounding the Patriotic Society's politicians.

Zhou Wai-fung has promised to fight back against this ban on his party and hopes to restore its recognition status with the electoral commission in a few years. Until then, Zhou has already charted out plans to sail his super yacht around Terra, visiting a variety of resort destinations and exotic locales.

Chen speaking to various news agencies as he speaks on his future plans

TIAN'AN, Han Province: Chen Zemin, Party Leader of the Social Democratic Party has recently announced that he will in fact be retiring in the coming months. The Mundawan native is retiring at the age of 60, seemingly young for a politician; however, he has left behind an illustrious record behind him. Chen first became leader at the age of 24, and won an election by a large margin at 27; he would later become Chief Minister for two separate terms, a length that lasted a total of 11 years. This is the longest a person has held the title, although not continuously, since the Republican League's Tang Zijing almost 50 years ago.

When asked what he planned to do now in his life, Chen responded that he hoped to be able to travel around the world, though this time as a tourist, as well as get some well deserved relaxation. The former Chief Minister gave a statement, "I'm proud to have served my country and party for such a long period of success, and failure, but it is time for me to finally take my hat out of the ring. I've immense hope for how our country is currently run, and I hope we can continue along this path."

Chen also revealed that Party Conference would be held in the coming year so that a vote for a new leader could occur before the elections next year. He also said that he would stay on as Party Leader until such a vote could occur.

POLITICS: NEW DEMOCRATS FOUNDED BY LAWYER AND FORMER NEW DAWN MEMBER BO WANG

The New Democrats, a new liberal and populist party founded by lawyer Bo Wang, was founded five days ago to "fill in the liberal hole left by the dissolution of New Dawn" as he said.
Unlike New Dawn, however, Mr. Wang, who was on the centre-left faction of New Dawn, has taken a critical stance towards the Lotus Party, saying the Lotus Party was "all over the place" politically, and that "they have failed to challenge the Caizus and remain stuck in the past".
The New Democrats have identified themselves as a supporter income tax increases on the upper middle-classes and upper classes to fund increased education and health expenditure, anti-monopoly legislation to combat the Caizus, environmental protections to fight carbon emissions, and the loosening up of regulations on small businesses to boost employment, especially in rural regions

Zhijia Developing Military Drones
Long an innovator in civilian drone systems for delivery and recreation, the company now enters the defense sector.

TIAN'AN, Han Province: Yet another company has found new opportunity in the Imperial Armed Forces of Indrala (IAFI) Modernization Act. Zhijia, the central vehicle of FCR Group innovation research and technology production, has taken interest in obtaining a government contract to deliver their own contribution to the Indralan arsenal. The first proposal put forward includes cutting-edge geographic information systems (GIS) software that Zhijia primarily developed for civilian consumption among developers and government agencies. Zhijia is now adding new features to ZhijiaGIS, with particular focus on military and intelligence applications. Some features remain in testing, such as smart analysis of chronological satellite images to automatically path troop movements or construction of military installations.

Zhijia is also applying its expertise in drones as a second proposal relating to the IAFI Modernization Act. The leading manufacturing of delivery drones, Zhijia has been actively researching autonomous delivery and public transit vehicles over the past number of years. Now they seek to add military drones to their portfolio, opening up a development team dedicated to reconnaissance and combat unmanned aerial vehicles. An early prototype for the Zhijia Nighthawk has been built and is expected to be used for demonstrations to prospective buyers.

Yao Ling marries Ren Guanting in elaborate wedding ceremony

KAIZHOU, Jiaozhi Province: After almost a year since Ren Guanting and Yao Ling announced their engagement, the couple finally tied the knot in an extremely elaborate ceremony. While it may not have been the most Jienist of ceremonies, certain sources have reported that Ren demanded such a ceremony.

Both the Cheng Clan and the Tiankong Group Rens are reported to have pitched in on the cost as the ceremony, itself, apparently totaled over two hundred thousand shapirs. This number doesn't even include the reception, which is estimated to be perhaps about a hundred thousand more than the ceremony.

The ceremony, pictured above, was fabricated to appear as an indoor jungle, with tropical plants filling the entire room. Interviewed guests have also said that the walkway actually featured water which flowed towards the altar in remembrance of a stream. Ren's gown was also stunning, featuring a white dress studded throughout with gold leaf, a precious metal which also managed to appear across the bride's skin. While the ceremony was only midsized, the reception was a huge, almost public affair, with hundreds of guests, and attended by some of Indrala's most famous.

SDP elects Wei Zhenya in landslide election

Tian'an, Han Province: In a highly anticipated conference for the SDP, assemblywoman Wei Zhenya came away with an unprecedented victory. Wei was able to gain 73.6% of the party's votes, the largest percentage ever won by a candidate for Party Leader since Fa Rong, almost a century ago.

She was able to defeat assemblyman Meng Zexian(12.4%), attorney Jia Gengxin(8.3%), and assemblywoman Zheng Su(5.7%). Such a large margin is believed to have occurred due to Wei campaigning herself as a successor to the wildly popular Chen Zemin. In fact, Chen endorsed Wei a few months into her campaign. Many voters hope that she will be able to continue on with the policies and leadership style championed by Chen.

Who is Wei Zhenya though? She is actually a Tian'an local, who served as mayor of the city for three years at the age of 24, before becoming an assemblywoman. Wei has served in the National Assembly for over fourteen years, during which time she became close allies with Chen.

Imperial Household purchases château in Lourenne

TIAN'AN, Han Province: Coinciding with his great-nephew's first birthday, the Jianxiao Emperor has purchased a $3 million property in rural Lourenne to be used by that branch of the family for their activities in that country. The Emperor's great-nephew Prince Luyi is the son of Prince Haoyang and his wife Princess Louise-Marie of Lourenne. Accordingly, Prince Luyi of Indrala is also recognized as Prince Louis of Lourenne. The couple is currently expecting their second child.

The property, known as Château du Sirault is located 25km south of St. Madelaine, Lourenne and is comprised of 49 hectares of woods and meadows, a landscaped garden with swimming pool, and a vineyard of 6 hectares. The chateau is built with the white stones of the Jôviant region. According to a spokesperson for the Imperial Household Agency, the Emperor intends to operate the vineyard year round, providing half of all wine produced to the people of St. Madelaine for free, while sending the remaining half to the Heavenly City.

The château was purchased using the private funds of the Sun Clan, and thus comes as no cost to the government. The Imperial Household Agency has also hired the Lourennian PR firm Bisset, Arseneault and Dupont to enhance the family's image in that country.

Xiandai Group wants to build Indrala's next fighter jet

Xiandai Group Chairman Wang Guangya

TIAN'AN, Han Province: As Indrala is soliciting for help from abroadin rebuilding and modernizing the Imperial Armed Forces, many domestic firms are beginning to expand their military armament capabilities. Recently, the Ministry of Defence signed a $1 billion development contract with tech-giant Zhijia as that company seeks to utilize their drone knowledge in producing military UAVs.

This major investment has clearly garnered the attention of Xiandai Group Chairman Wang Guangya, as he announced that Xiandai would develop Indrala's next fighter jet. Xiandai has also previously received contracts from the Ministry of Defence for the procurement of small-arms produced through their subsidiary Xiandai Precision Industries.

"The next fighter jet purchased by the Imperial Armed Forces shall be homegrown, and developed using Indralan talent," Wang stated to a group of shareholders and media, "and it will be built by Xiandai!"

Xiandai enters the competition at a disadvantage. Although it's one of the biggest civil aviation companies in the world, it hasn’t designed and built a fighter since 4300 with the I-20, an aircraft of which only eight were ever made. The incredibly high-cost and long manufacturing period was a major hindrance to the longevity of the program.

What would the new Xiandai jet look like? Analysts presume that the jet would look similar to the I-20, or perhaps derive much of it's design from foreign fighters such as HF-16 Hawk or HF-44 Maelstorm. It is unclear who Xiandai may partner with, if anyone, in developing their jet. Nonetheless, Xiandai will have to produce work quickly to draft a proposal for the IAFI Modernization Program if it seeks grant money.
