In December 4451, the Grand Assembly of the State of Indrala authorized the Imperial Armed Forces of Indrala Modernization Act (LP-318).This legislation is aimed at:
(a) The development of a self-reliant and credible strategic armed force; the reconfiguration of the Imperial Armed Forces structure; and the professionalization of the IAFI;
(b) The undertaking of reforms in the recruitment, training, employment and management of IAFI personnel;
(c) The development, validation or modification of IAFI doctrines;
(d) The acquisition and upgrading of appropriate technology and equipment; and
(e) The relocation, improvement, and construction of bases and other facilities.
As it pertains to part (d), the IAFI Modernization Program
is accepting bids from private and public defence contractors. The IAFI Modernization Program is also seeking to co-develop, where possible, new military equipment.
The legislation allows for up to $40,000,000,000 (OOC: USD) in expenditure, though this ceiling may be raised or lowered by the Grand Assembly.
