Barmenistani Foreign Minister Ret. Lt. Gen Hrant Guloryan has arrived in Deltaria on a two day working visit. He is scheduled to meet Deltarian leader Manosindus Von Thaller and other senior Deltarian policymakers. Guloryan said that his visit was aimed at finding areas of mutual interest where the two countries could work on together. He suggested the "fight against fascism in Majatra" and "a new international order marked by non-intervention" as key areas that the two nations agree on. Deltaria has been one of Barmenistan's very few defenders in a very hostile World Congress.
Peasants Capitulate
The Qardajar peasants who have resisted the government's land reform. A group of village elders announced that they would accept relocation and appologised to the government for the trouble they had caused. The government in turn agreed to end a seven month blockade of the settlements, allowing in food, medication and other basics for the first time in several months.
The elders were imprisoned for incitement of rebellion, terrorism and starving the local populace, which according to Second Secretary Bhjtar Jrka, "was absolutely not caused by the Army blockade but the arrogant tyranny of the peasant elders and their foreign patrons." It has been estimated that between 500 and 1,000 peasants died of starvation during the controversy. With the Qardajar hurdle cleared, the land reform program is set to rolled out across the country in the next two to three years.
