Foreign Minister Visits Deltaria
June 4486

Barmenistani Foreign Minister Ret. Lt. Gen Hrant Guloryan has arrived in Deltaria on a two day working visit. He is scheduled to meet Deltarian leader Manosindus Von Thaller and other senior Deltarian policymakers. Guloryan said that his visit was aimed at finding areas of mutual interest where the two countries could work on together. He suggested the "fight against fascism in Majatra" and "a new international order marked by non-intervention" as key areas that the two nations agree on. Deltaria has been one of Barmenistan's very few defenders in a very hostile World Congress.

Peasants Capitulate

The Qardajar peasants who have resisted the government's land reform. A group of village elders announced that they would accept relocation and appologised to the government for the trouble they had caused. The government in turn agreed to end a seven month blockade of the settlements, allowing in food, medication and other basics for the first time in several months.

The elders were imprisoned for incitement of rebellion, terrorism and starving the local populace, which according to Second Secretary Bhjtar Jrka, "was absolutely not caused by the Army blockade but the arrogant tyranny of the peasant elders and their foreign patrons." It has been estimated that between 500 and 1,000 peasants died of starvation during the controversy. With the Qardajar hurdle cleared, the land reform program is set to rolled out across the country in the next two to three years.

Shophet Invites Deltaria To "Deploy All Kinds of Weapons Here"
December 4487

Barmenistan leader, Shophet Levon Tawarayan has called on the Deltarians to "deploy all kinds of weapons here" in Barmenistan. The comment came at the official accession ceremony marking Barmenistan's entrance into the Consortium Alliance. The Shophet's comments raised considerable alarm given the ongoing standoff between his country and Vanuku and many read it as asking Deltaria to deploy weapons of mass destruction against Vanuku in Barmenistan.

Barmenistan Investigates Departure From World Congress

Barmenistani Justice Minister Julius Magnus has appointed an ad-hoc committee to investigate the procedure and likely effects of withdrawing from the World Congress. Magnus said that there was pressing need to investigate this step as the World Congress has been "hijacked by a biased motley alliance of Ahmadist radicals and fascist reactionaries." Minister Magnus also dismissed news reports that Barmenistan has hired a crew of hitmen to assassinate the World Assembly President Ibrahim Al-Salefi as "total nonsense"

Vanukeans To Be Expelled From Barmenistan

Vanukean Barmenistani citizens have been given 24 hours to leave the country "or expect prosecution." The 160,000 strong community has begun scrambling to flee with their most personal of belongings (their immovable property has been nationalised and bank accounts frozen) The Government deems them as potential traitors in the case of war with Vanuku. The minority has long dominated certain key sectors of the Barmenistani economy which has earned them little love among the native Barmenistanis. Many have cheered the Government's decision and called for stronger measures to ensure that the Vanukeans did not try to stash their "ill-gotten wealth" in foreign bank accounts before their departure.

Government To Establish Work Rehabilitation Camps

The Ministry of Health in conjunction with Department of State Security have announced that they will establish a series of work rehabilitation camps in an effort to aid those who have been corrupted mentally by fascist and internationalist propaganda. The Ministry said it planned to establish 33 camps across the country, each camp holding up to 15,000 at a time.

A series of People's Psychiatric Tribunals will be established across the country to decide on whether or not to commit individuals suspected of mental corruption to these facilities. Each resident will serve for up to 15 years depending on their level of "mental corruption" and "psychological hostility to the revolution." Minister Ibram Amsa said that in his opinion, only hard work could truly rehabilitate a troubled mind.

Leader Discusses Revolutionary Principles and Goals
July 4488

Shophet Levon Tawaryan has taken time out of his busy schedule to pen a letter in response to several points raised by the Selucian Republicans' leader Helena Romilia Nennia . In a letter, "Discourses on the Barmenistani Revolution And The Nature Of The Uprooted Upper Classes" sent to a number of Selucian news outlets, the Shophet defended the progress of the Revolution and the nature of his government.

I would like to salute Comrade Nennia for her strong grasp of the Social Revolution and the relevant historical context. I as a revolutionary leader, am only an imperfect tool of a wave beyond my control. The violence in our Revolution is only the reality of bringing down one of the most vicious upper classes in all of Terra. When we took over five years ago, this beksrmko class formed just 0.6% of the population but held approximately seven tenths of the nation's entire wealth.

The reactionaries will tell you that they earned this through merit. Are we really willing to accept that 99.4% of the country are lazy and only this tiny minority are hardworking and enterprising enough to succeed? I feel much better living in the new Barmenistan where these beksrmko hold only 8% of national wealth. It's still 7% too much, but in time, we will get there, I am sure.

Ours is hardly the first movement in Barmenistan to attempt to address the problems if inquality and poverty. A variety of moderate leftwing governments have tried to fix these things by asking the wealthy nicely, playing by the rules of "rule of law" and other lies. These rules all work to preserve the elite status of the beksrmko. For the working classes, they preserved only misery and poverty. Whenever a reformist government took office, the beksrmko and their agents would carry out unrelenting psychological warfare until it fell. Nothing can be done unless they are completely uprooted like weeds.

Our ultimate goal is the kind of democracy that Cde. Nennia spoke of. It will take time until this goal is reached - the mental slavery that the elites imposes over the working people remains strong. As such, until it is broken, a vanguard party need to safeguard the gains of the revolution. It is there where the Social Nationalists retain a strong role to cleanse, improve and strengthen the minds of our people. I have to say that Barmenistan has learnt a great deal from Selucia's domestic policy and many unique institutions which have safeguarded equality and the prosperity of the masses.

BSNP Beefs Up Militias Ahead of Elections
January 4489

The Barmenistani Social Nationalist Party has moved to increase the funding and strength of its militias as the May elections draw closer. The party has advertised in the local papers for "25,000 extra pairs of hands" offering highly coveted incentives such as automatic party membership. The party's Second Secretary Bhjtar Jrka said that the party wanted to "defend the integrity of the election and would deploy its militias to help prevent the loss of the gains of the Social Revoution due to the nefarious activities of the Vanukean-aligned traitors in the so-called Apostolic Army and other enemies of the people."
The move has been sparked by the formation of the Sacred Hosian Union.

The main militia the Martyrs of the Revolution is thought to have a strength between 20 and 35,000 while a number of other small militias have strengths ranging from a mere 200 to around 3,000 men. The Guardian Party of the Revolution Act granted the BSNP several privileges including the right to form party militias. Tension is high in Barmenistan with the return of the so-called Apostolic Army. The government has arrested several known members of this organisation and high ranking members have been placed under 24 hour surveillance.

Shophet Declares Opposition Legislators Terrorists
BSNP Regains Full Power
May 4490

The Barmenistani Socialist Nationalist Party has thundered back to full control of the country's political levers. The party which won just 16 out of 305 seats refused to hand over power and prevented the opposition Sacred Hosian Union's elected legislators from being sworn in. Today, Shophet Levon Tawaryan issued an executive order declaring the Sacred Hosian Union to be a "front for the Apostolic Army and every other kind of counterrevolutionary force" He also alleged "extensive election rigging" by the opposition. All this, he declared, disqualified them from holding seats in the legislature, leaving the 16 member BSNP caucus as the only members of the Revolutionary Command Council.

Protests have broken out in the island of Kathuristan, the staunchest supporters of the Sacred Hosian Union. The government has warned the protesters to return to their homes or face "strong punishments." The tens of thousands of protesters have called on the Government to resign and allow the SHU legislators to take office.

Vanukean Journalist Executed For Spying

A prominent Vanukean journalist Hedwk Hzar has been executed by firing squad for espionage related offences. Hzar, 31 met her end after a Popular Revolutionary Tribunal sentenced her to death over the leaking of photos from a secret military site located deep in the northern mountains. Hzar had alleged that the site was producing chemical weapons and had attempted to smuggle out the photos but was betrayed to the Barmenistan secret service, the Eyes. The Eyes organised a secret trial for her in the Tribunal and her execution shortly afterwards. The Government has defended the execution and praised all involved for "exemplary dedication to the nation's security."

Order Restored To Kathuristan
November 4490

The Government has moved into the restive island of Kathuristan and restored public order. The Ministry of Defence announced that all "counterrevolutionary protesters" had been "dispersed" by the Popular Revolutionary Army. The news came after a controversial four day operation which seems to have largely involved the Air Force only over public space where the protests were held such as the Queen Sarah Public Park in the city of Korat.

While there was a complete blockade on the media, a number of sources have provided some information on what took place. A number of eye witness reports from protesters spoke of the sudden and overwhelming scent of rotten eggs and other similar smells once the military airplanes arrived. Hospital stuff have spoken of "several corpses" being delivered to hospital mortuaries and of thousands of patients seeking treatment for breathing problems, constricted pupils, frothing at the mouth and blue-tinged skin. The government has blamed this on "industrial pollution." Whatever happened, fear and quiet now reign over Kathuristan.

Barmenistan Denies Possession and Use of Chemical Weapons
May 4491

The Barmenistani Foreign Ministry has issued a statement rejecting claims that it had developed and used chemical weapons in the island of Kathuristan.

Allegations made by the Kingdom of Kazulia are completely false and misleading. Kazulia claims to have intelligence proving these supposed chemical attacks which are illegal under international custom and Barmenistani law. Once again an imperialist power makes these unfounded allegations against a small nation. We are not fools. We know what drives this. Kazulia, Vanuku and Istalia are gearing up to build a fantastical case of an iron-fisted tyranny as a prelude to invade Barmenistan, end its Revolution and restore the exploitative system of the past.

To prove our claims, Barmenistan is willing to invite World Congress chemical weapon exports too search through our country for any stores of weapons or related facilities. What happened in Kathuristan were a series of industrial accidents in which our brave armed forces intervened to rescue several victims at considerable risks to their own lives. This heroism is what bastard Kazulia considers an opportunity to sneer and lie!
