So we're the dictators?
August 2, 4529

"Just a few years ago, my party and I were called offensive names. We were humiliated and were subject to a witch hunt which now proves to be totally imaginary and, even worse, a cover up for the hidden agenda of some of the so called democratic parties. Our supporters have been hunted down, were subject to discrimination and feared severe punishment by the government. Some of the parties that made themselves guilty to the above have now convinced the public that not LWA, but their own narrow minded parties are the enemy. The enemy of our beautiful nation"

Frank Donitz spoke to the press at the LWA HQ at Newport Haven. He wanted to warn the citizens of Lodamun about their future if they would stand the atrocities of some of the parties in the Chamber. He warns specifically for EAPP and their number one in the Chamber, to whom he refers to as 'Lord Zeppelin'.
"I have tried to get into the minds of these deputies for years, and with every day that passes, I don't seem to get the ideology of that party. The party's stance is swinging from left to right and up and down. The one thing in their behaviour that doesn't seem an unpredictable variable is their thirst for the destruction of freedom of our Lodamese citizens. I'll give it to you on a piece of paper: EAPP's sole objective is to ruin Lodamun, enslave its citizens and continue their own miserable lives bathing in luxury, while the rest of the nation will hardly get enough food to survive."
Donitz was outrageous, but then again, he felt weakened: "We can understand some of the criticism we received as a party, but what we were accused of just didn't feel righteous anymore. If we see that the other parties in Presidium (notr: Chamber of Deputies) blindly followed that behaviour, it makes us sad. Now we believe the other parties finally understand where EAPP is heading for, and we hope they do see that there is only one way to stop this, before harm will be irreverseable. This madness must end now, before Lodamun looses its credibility."
Donitz has asked the electorate to vote next year against EAPP, for their own future.

Another Tumultuous Term Ahead
November 9, 4532

This year began what is sure to be another chaotic term in Lodamese Politics. The previous elections that took place earlier this year have resulted in the seizure of power by the more authoritarian parties within the Presidium.

At this time, there seems to be a somewhat of a picture of where the parties of the Presidium stand.
-The ruling coalition made up of the Ecofeudalist-Antinatalist Peasant Party, National Archreactionary Party, Fascist Party of Lodamun, and the Hosian Corporatist League of Lodamun(though not included in the current government, they have dropped all their opposition to the fascists) control 175 seats(58%).
-The opposition made up of the New Green Party of Lodamun, Democratic Anti-Fascist Progress, K.R.A.N.G. Movement, and the Lodamese Workers' Assembly control 125 seats(42%). It should be of note that at the time of this report, there hasn't been an organized opposition coalition formed against this specific government yet and these are simply parties that have voted against the fascist's agenda and/or have announced opposition so far this term.

The ruling coalition has already began to attempt to intimidate the opposition by referring to them as "treasonous" for not voting in favor of constitutional amendments in the latest bill introduced by the NAP. Destin Horon, a NGPoL MP and party-favored candidate for President, stood up on the Presidium floor to remind the government of rights the opposition parties have according to the Lodamese Constitution, as well as formally declare their opposition:

"I also feel the need to remind the government that Article 10 of the Lodamese Constitution protects opposition parties' rights to oppose the elected government and question their conduct of public business. As long as our party is a registered party in this chamber, we will oppose fascism and uphold democracy to the best of our ability!"

Donitz disappointed, steps out
January 3, 4533

Frank Donitz decided to quit politics and handed over the keys of his office to Alberic Grouwels, a young and motivated Norstavan engineer. Donitz couldn't go on any further, since he couldn't cope with the most recent changes in his beloved nation.

"Many things have changed over the last few years, but I can no longer support a nation that forces one to be part of a cult. Some parties have critisized decisions made by LWA in the past, but they are far worse than what they say LWA did. This is the end for me. It has been a privilege to lead this beautiful party, it has been a privilege to work together with other parties. But I can't do this anymore."
The LWA assembly accepted Alberic Grouwels as their new chairman. It is unknown what will happen to Donitz. Some say he will leave the country, others say he will live up to the rules of Gorkyism and will end his life himself.

Grouwels speaks
May 11, 4534

Newport Haven- Alberic Grouwels, chairman of LWA, attended a large political rally near the LWA HQ in Newport Haven. He adressed the supporters that showed up. He explained the change of course of his party.

"While we still disagree with the way things are done in Lodamun, we have decided to contribute in a constructive way to the management of our nation. We have reluctantly accepted the formation of the co-operative republic, we have accepted the shift to Hosianism, which we still feel is a poor choice. We can see where the ruling parties are going to, and we must respect their opinions. Nevertheless, we should also face the potential dangers that come with these changes."
Grouwels was careful and vigilant in choosing his words: "The formation of an isolationist republic brings a lot of hazards. LWA has made the transition from isolationist nation to international partner possible for Lodamun. This brought us prosperity and peace, while we only had a few setbacks over that period where there were some economic problems. The transition towards isolationism will very likely get us into economic regression, which will have us rely on the results of our agriculture again."
He also mentioned the state of the military: "For years we managed to decrease the military budget, slacking down on troops and materials. This was possible due to some diplomatic and military treaties we had, guaranteeing us to get support from other nations whenever necessary. The current government has chosen to give up on those treaties and have Lodamun standing alone in Terra. Our military hardly is able to protect our boundaries. Our once so proud navy is all rusty and needs a massive financial injection to get her standards up again."
One bright ray of light, Grouwels is glad legislators didn't give up on the Newport Haven Project: "That would have been a mistake that would have put Lodamun in an economic and possibly military crisis."

Grouwels reveals true agenda EAPP and NAP
December 2, 4534

In the Chamber of Deputies, LWA chairman Alberic Grouwels, took the stand to defend the proposal of his party to give citizens the choice whether or not they are willing to choose to be part of the national religion. After interference of some Deputies, the discussion changed in a monologue in which Grouwels attacked the ruling parties.

It has been a while since we witnessed such scenes at the Chamber, but it seems Grouwels is on war path since he was challenged by some Deputies, currently represented in Cabinet: "My dear fellow Deputies, for years we have witnessed the so called introduction of freedom for the people by both EAPP and NAP. These parties, as they said themselves, wanted to liberate the nation from the dictatorship established by LWA. They had already liberated the nation from the ruling of one party, which went on for decades, as they claimed themselves. Lies! All lies! They wanted to get rid of Lodamese Nationalism, which they kind of did, because Nationalism would be a bad thing. My fellow Deputies, we can argue on how good or how bad Nationalism is. I must say it has it flaws, Nationalism isn't perfect, but in my opinion it works. Then again, the kind of Nationalism we had was merely a sort of consciousness of how we feel about our nation and how every single individual should act to maintain our nation and its prosperity. Using international agreements and treaties, LWA managed to bring even more wealth to Lodamun. Lodamese Nationalism is open to all and isn't a real religion, it is a way of life. Therefore LWA chose to make Lodamese Nationalism the state religion, while there was possibility to choose any other religion that didn't oppose to the way of life of the State. What did the current legislators decide? They installed Hosianism as a mandatory state religion. They even prohibited other religions, such as Lodamese Nationalism, saying it was a threat to national security. All Hosianism has brought to the nation is violence, poverty and the settling of a bourgeois regime that doesn't give a shit about the citizens. This will end today! We will pass to a vote soon, to make the state religion voluntarily. This is the first step in abolishing the State religion, but we are willing to take one step at a time. If the ruling parties should veto this proposal, they are jeopardizing our national unity, or what is left of it, and are responsible for a possible civil war that will follow. The ruling parties have lost control over the nation, they have lost confidence of the citizens and they will feel so during the next elections. He who wants to install Hosianism in our beautiful nation, will suffer the consequences. EAPP is over, NAP is over, HCLL is over."

After this monologue the deputies voted on the proposal, which was accepted 59 to 0. Most parties chose to abstain, while HCLL supported the proposal, showing their good will.

Statement for the future of Lodamun by LWA
January 2, 4538

For years and years, our citizens have lived in fear. For decades, our citizens weren't free to express themselves.
The Co-operative Republic has challenged our way of life and has jeopardized Lodamun's international position.
LWA requests a political change to ameliorate social and economic circumstances in our nation. We do regret the inconclusiveness of some parties represented in the Chamber. Their behaviour is both selfish as contra-productive for the nation.
LWA stands for improved civil liberties, education and economic conditions. Our citizens have suffered from the cruel reforms of the so called socialist parties.
LWA also has suffered under the dictatorship we witnessed recently. After having to flee our nation's capital, fearing for our own safety, the party representatives resided in and around an abandoned missile site in the Kregon mountains, where the new party HQ was installed. After creating a stronghold near Newport Haven and after ensuring conditiond were fair, we decided to move the HQ towards Newport Haven, in an abandoned office block in the portuary complex.
With the dissolvement oft the tyran parties, LWA wants to proceed to create a new democratic republic. We ask all parties that wish to help constructing a new nation to join us and discuss the possibilities.
We should not forget the fragile position Lodamun is in after the abolishment of several international treaties and agreements. The former dictators failed to see the importance of these treaties, but we insist on renegotiating some economic and military treaties in order to ameliorate our international position.
To create a new and better future for our glorious nation, we have created a bill with 10 points which are important to us.
Obviously, this is the opinion of one party and we will not blindly change legislation without consulting other parties in the Chamber.

1. Abolishment of the Co-operative Republic;
2. Renewal of international agreements;
3. Return to an improved Democratic Republic;
4. Abolishment of Hosianism as State Religion;
5. Get foreign companies back to Newport Haven;
6. Endurable investments in the economy;
7. Change and ameliorate the executive;
8. Ameliorate our economy and set ecological standards;
9. Modernization of the fleet, both commercial and military;
10. Discuss and develop a manifest with protocols for Lodamun.

In order to achieve these goals, or at least some of them, LWA is willing to co-operate with any party that wishes to make an effort to make Lodamun a better place. As we already stated before, we want to get rid of the fraudulous, incompetent Cabinet we currently have in Lodamun. To do so we have proven to support a minority Cabinet. Our political ambitions are at this stage less important than the succession of this cabinet.

We hope to find a way to co-operate and give Lodamun its glory back as we have known it before.

signed

NGPoL largest party of Lodamun
claims a study of NMDU

June 4538

At the University of Northern Metropolitan District a study has been made by questioning thousands of citizens in Lodamun. The study revealed that, if there were to be elections today, the New Greens would become the largest fraction nationwide.

Citizens were asked about their worries, their opinion on politics and so on. With these figures and statistics, a study group managed to predict the behaviour of the electorate. There were some surprising results.
First, FLP would drop massively, losing half of their seats in the Chamber and losing four Governors. Many people were disgusted by the absence of FPL deputies and thus preventing legislation.
HCLL would double its number of seats in the Chamber, and would get the same number of seats as LWA, that doesn't achieve the aimed 80 seats in the Chamber.
KRANG would loose nearly all of its seats and would get just a seat or 2 more than CPOL, that doesn't seem to get launched. CPOL would, in the best scenario, get 1 seat in Presidium.
The larger part of seats would go to NGPoL, that would win the Presidentials and would be able to form nearly any Cabinet they want, just lacking a few seats to gain majority in the Chamber.
Obviously, these results are part of a simulation and are two years off from the actual elections. These figures are eventhough great statistics and can give the parties some ideas to make changes in their program.

Grouwels disappointed
Doubts electorate outcome
May 3, 4543

Alberic Grouwels isn't convinced that the Hosian Corporatist League won the elections, although they managed to gain a vast majority in the Chamber and can claim 4 Districts out of five. He thinks the results would have been different if more people would have voted.

"The nation is in a political impasse, and it has been for a few years now. With LWA fully supporting NGPoL, many people didn't think it necessary to cast their vote, which turned out very positive for HCLL. Even the leaders of the Hosian party didn't see that one coming, but we should not overreact. Less than 40% actually voted, and we believe that most of them voted HCLL to show they do not fully agree with the current coalition. Too bad. LWA wants to convince people that a vote for LWA/NGPoL is one step closer to a bright future for our nation. It has worked before and it will turn out well once more. We have failed in showing people that. Our next goal is to persuade people to take a closer look at what we are trying to obtain in the hope that they will support our vision."

Reformed Republic within a decade
Grouwels looks forward to 4547 elections
December 16, 4546

Newport Haven- Alberic Grouwels claims his party to be ready for the upcoming elections. He says there is no pressure whatsoever for the elections itself, but the most important part is the mutual understanding with the Lodamese Greens in order to create a new Republic.
"NGPoL and LWA both agree on the issue that Lodamese society has to change. We agree that we should reform our nation and create a vivid society for all of our citizens. The biggest challenge will now be that we have some finetuning to do, so there is a possibility that every now and then a discussion will occur between the two parties. All I can say at this stage is that I am thrilled with the good connections we are having with NGPoL and that I'm looking forward to the cooperation."

What a challenge this will be, no one can tell for now. It is true that both parties have their differences. Yet, both parties have declared to meet the other and compromise on several items.
"LWA fully supports the environmental path NGPoL is seeking to take, and we will not take a lead on religious matters. Currently, we are very supportive in handling our economic matters and we have full confidence that our coalitionpartner and ourselves will come up with a solution. We still seek support for our internationalist program, which we will use to boost our economy and to give our military some slack. Again, we are confident that our coalitionpartner will support us in that specific matter."

Grouwels didn't mention who will or would be running for the Presidentials. All he said was that LWA always has been asking for a change in the executive and that the party hasn't changed its stance on that issue.

Bill Passes to End State Religion
July 19, 4548

After a little over 15 years of Hosianism as a state religion, the Presidium passed a bill to abolish the state religion and promote freedom of religion.

A bill to instill Hosianism as a mandatory state religion was passed by the Presidium in December 4532, proposed by the Hosian Corporatist League of Lodamun. They made a deal with the fascist parties in the Presidium at the time for them to help pass this bill in exchange for the HCLL's loyalty in their fascist takeover. This was seen with disdain from the pro-democracy parties of the Presidium, as well as those that didn't want a theist religion to be enforced by government onto the people.

In May 4541, the New Green Party of Lodamun introduced legislation to repeal not only Hosianism as a state religion, but the government's involvement in religion in general. They brought it to a vote August of last year and it was passed this past April. This was a victory for Freedom of Religion in the nation, as well as a point fulfilled from the Lodamese Worker's Assembly's 10 points toward a brighter future for Lodamun.
