Eroncourt. The projects announced by the Ministry of Defense were officially labeled as "upgrades and necessary
additions" to the Royal navy. In particular, the Ministry's largest project is the construction of a new aircraft
carrier that would eventually be added to the Lourennais Second Response Fleet. The project's blueprints
were initially taken from the LNS Queen Isabelle, Lourenne's first aircraft carrier, and were modified according
to new technology available to the Ministry of Defense.
The proposed carrier dubbed, Aquitaine-77, will measure 1,092 feet (333 m) and will displace over 100,000 tons
upon completion. The new carrier will include a bulbous bow design that provides more buoyancy to the forward
end of the ship and improves hull efficiency, curved flight deck edges to reduce radar signature, a new underwater
hull coating system, deck modernized coverings to reduce ship weight by 100 tons, low solar absorptive and
anti-stain paint, a less cluttered hangar bay, and a new propeller design. New air operations design features include
an updated aviation fuel storage and distribution system, semi-automated refueling and servicing with new deck
locations to provide faster, more efficient aircraft pit stops, requiring fewer people, modernized aircraft launch,
and recovery equipment, and redesigned jet blast deflectors provided by Entreprise des Defenseurs.
The carrier will be constructed in Porte Orleans located in the province of Louives and will be transfered to Orleans
Naval Station Base in Parmentier for national testing and effectiveness testing. After testing, the new carrier will
be added to the second fleet and will be directed to Pensancon Naval Base in southwestern Kanjor.
