The Kazulian Embassy in Wiel, Vanuku.
2nd February, 4551.
Kazulia and Vanuku will form a joint approach/working party to coordinate the two nation's approach to Majatran affairs, a move which reflects the two nation's attempts to bridge diverging approaches. Foreign Minister Anne-Lise Haugaard will travel to Wiel, Vanuku where she will speak with Perfect Prince Dytrik Kspar Zhtál and hopefully arrive at an agreement on establishing a new working group that would further strengthen close coordination of diplomacy on the two nation's geopolitical strategies for the region in the foreseeable future and inter-regional cooperation. The agreement for coordinated efforts comes amidst an increased role by Kazulia to increase its diplomatic footprint in the region amidst the re-opening of the Ellinor Ketelsen Airbase in Kalopia and construction of the Finn Nordhagen Airbase in Beiteynu. Vanuku and Kazulia' efforts of deconfliction and global development are increasingly at cross-purposes. On the backdrop of tensions between the Southern Majatran democratic power and authoritarian forces within extra-regional organisations, the sentiment of democratic rule is being championed by the Kazulian government underneath its continued obligations to global development. According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, against the rising tide of transnational communism, the sentiment of democracy equates stability and economic development.
Analysts from the Trond Henrichsen Institute for International Affairs have welcome the formation of the working party as they expect it will enhance relations between Vanuku and Kazulia as well as work to maintain inter-Majatran activities in balance with the primary objective of maintaining relative peace and stability. Amidst the collapse of Pax-Kazuliana and the decline of the Manifest of Tranquillity doctrine, the Department of Foreign Affairs has adopted a new policy of development through cooperation. According to the Department of Foreign Affairs it is hoped that through cooperation Kazulia and its extra-regional allies and partners could trailblaze economic and global development. Skalm's overtures and calls for a relaxation of economic sanctions on other nations particularly Keymon have marked the beginning of a policy shift. CARSS' economic sanctions on Keymon exist within the constraints of travel restrictions and goods/services. It's economic sanctions do not extend beyond the frame of economic policy and trade enterprise between the Keymonite republic. Finance Minister Karl Søndergaard stated that he was not worried for Keymon's economy, mainly due to the fact that the sentiment that Keymon still has access to international financial institutions and has little interaction with Deltarian banks beyond foreign exchange. The Department of Foreign Affairs stated that its calls for reduced sanctions should be accompanied by clear communication and coordination.
With large amounts of Kazulian investment rolling into the region amidst the formation of democratic governments in Kalopia and Pontesi, Kazulian banks and businesses have been preparing to take advantage of the opportunities coming out free market enterprise championed by the democratic governments of the aforementioned nations. Foreign Minister Haugaard stated that there are conflicting interests at hand and it is her intention to ensure that amidst this working party's formation, the conflicting interests of Vanukean and Kazulian foreign policy remains far away from the planning and coordination of the joint approach. On matters pertaining to defence, the Foreign Minister stated that there will be no compromise. Kazulia will maintain its commitments to its extra-regional allies, particularly Beiteynu and Kalopia. The Kingdom of Kazulia has been Kalopia's single most important partner in defence since the 3400s, having pumped billions into the nation's economic and respective armed forces. The Financial Services Commission has stated that it intends on investigating the applicability of CARSS's sanctions and will review its impacts on Keymon's economy and will also investigate the sentiments of Finance Minister Søndergaard.
