Dr. Sutherland holds a campaign launch rally in Talasor
Taylor von Louis (News Anchor): Good afternoon and welcome to the Taylor Angle. I'm your host Taylor von Louis. Chairman of the Conservative Party of Mordusia and Presidential hopeful, Dr. Thomas Sutherland, plane just landed at the airport in the nation's capitol. The media, citizens and civilians are in a frenzy to catch a sneak peek at what is to come for the future of this nation as it comes down to who to elect for President in November of 4601. Our reporter is live on the ground at the campaign launch rally. How ya doin' Lucien? How's the energy there?Lucien (Reporter): "Ah I'm super pumped Taylor. There is something about the energy here that makes your adrenaline rush. People are pouring in from all over the country just to catch a glimpse to the new political party. What a joyous occasion we have here and I'm telling you now, it can only get better from here. I have here with me John Rogers and his family. John, tell me why you're here.John Rogers (Civilian Interviewee): Ya know, my family has been in this country for many years and I can tell you, the energy around a political party hasn't been this encompassing since NRP came to town. I watched Dr. Sutherland's interview with you months ago and I was hooked automatically.Lucien (Reporter): What has you hooked onto Dr. Sutherland and CRM?John Rogers (Civilian Interviewee): When he talked about getting rid of the test for natural born citizens to become actual citizens. And...and...and he acted upon those words. I'll say he's a standup guy because I can't vote even though I was born here. I couldn't pass that. Not with my 3rd grade education nor could I afford it for me or my family. He's the real deal.Lucien (Reporter): Thanks John, always a pleasure.Taylor von Louis (News Anchor): Now Lucien, before Dr. Sutherland comes on, can you quickly go over the polls with me and what do they entail for the future of our country.Lucien (Reporter): Look Taylor, while the energy is high, the polls show that the NRP has a tight grip of influence around the nation which gives them the advantage. This leaves the CPM chances of success for a majority in the National Assembly and the Presidency very slim. The party would be lucky to even win a handful of seats. Look at the numbers. The NRP stands at 93% to the CPM 7% and that's not counting any undecided voters. Now, polls doesn't show the whole picture, however...Taylor von Louis (News Anchor): Hold that thought Lucien. Dr. Sutherland is coming out the tunnel now. (30 seconds later) Alright guys, Presidential hopeful, Dr. Thomas Sutherland.
Dr. Thomas Sutherland: Thank you, thank you! Look at this crowd. It huge! I love it! It is such an honor to be here today in the nation's capital with such a huge turnout. Let me tell ya, this is like no other. We have here people from all over the country, people from my party, my family and it is truly an honor.
Right now, we have a President who is unwilling to follow basic human decency to his own people. We have a party who believe its their duty to force their ideology on everyone else. We have a government who is unwilling to call each civilian here a citizen unless they take a test of citizenship. That is barbaric. Truth be told, I have a party that is on the same side as the NRP, however, I believe that we should not govern by our own morals but by the constitution that we swore an oath to protect and defend. As my party fights to change that law by introducing a bill in the National Assembly, the NRP sits quietly on their hands and does nothing. You are not defined a citizen because of a test. NO, if you were born here in Mordusia, you are a natural born citizen! Only those born here should render the title of citizen. We are all citizens and I want to be there when we pass a law making you all citizens without having to take a test.
I've been in economics my whole life. I've sat on many corporate boards, government boards, and even the Finance Ministry's office. I have first hand experience of how to create jobs. I know because I've created thousands of jobs in my lifetime. I know that you all want to keep most of what you earn instead of giving it up to the government. Your money is yours. It should be illegal for the government to increase taxes for government welfare programs. Yeah there are many sides to the economic debate, but only one economic structure has given you the freedom and opportunity to do whatever you want, work wherever you want, and to follow your dreams. That is capitalism. I will lead the fight of capitalism in this country. I will lead the fight to buy Mordusian first before we enter into a trade deal with any nation to buy their products.
That is why, today, here on this stage, in the capital, in front of the President's mansion, I am officially announcing that I will run for President of Mordusia and that I will to the best of my ability preserve, protect and defend the constitution and its CITIZENS from all enemies foreign and domestic so help me God.
