Image

This morning prime Minister Mossadeq and minister of defence Simonetta Altissimi attended large joined military games organized by all the branches of the Armed forces. The Prime Minister and the defence minister were aboard the aircraft of the navy together several members of the high command of the military. The game involved two large naval fleets, dozens of air squadrons of the airforce and almost 10 thousands soldiers of the army. The games were carried out on the ground, in a large base in East Alaria and on the sea some dozen of miles north of Alaria. Simulations of several scenario were carried out offer to the armed forces the opportunity to show the capacity of the Istalian armed forces.
The new two large amphibious ships of the navy the Impero and the Acquila acted as protagonist during a large simulation of amphibious warfare and landing on hostile area. The air force tested new weapons on board of the fighter and the bombers aimed to hit several targets on the hills and on the plains. On the plains of the large base tje armored units of the army simulated a large field operations. Special operations units simulated instead several unconvdntjonal scenarios in the Alaria base of the army where large areas are organized simulating entire city scenario and other locations.
The Public and defence high officials were accompanied by dozens of journalists who met the Prime Minister on a briefing room in the portaerei Fortezza.

The ISTALIAN Empire can boast formidable armed forces. This is sure. Our nation few years ago intervened in a foreign theater where we were able to handle the situation. About the Kazulia, I can only say that Whole istalia rejoice for the fully return of the democracy and normality in Kazulia. It is our intention to fully leave behind the recent war and the fascist regime and we are more than willing to reestablish friendly and cordial relations with the new government if Kazulia.
However today I cannot deny to be quite worried about the situation in our own continent. The brief attempt by zardugal to establish puppets government failed baut this seems that left entire nations in turmoil and in chaos.
I recently instructed the Minister of Foreign Affairs to get in touch with the government of the Majatran Republic of Kafuristan. In fact, the zardic puppet government has been wiped out by the new regime and now we are interested in understand the intentions and goals of this new government. Main priority of Istalia is to maintain the stability in East majatra.
We are fully open to establish a proficous dialogue aimed to assures peace, safe Ness and stability for our peoples. We saw the new government is open the kaduri society and is wiping out the dangers of fanatism, radicalizations and ignorance. We hope for a better and freer future for kafurisfan. We are very interested because previous governments worked to establish a good friendship and cooperation with Solentia which brought stability int his part of the continent and today we are convinced in defend the peaceful years of the last times.
Of course Istalia is fully able to defend itself and its ally from foreign treats but if events abroad risk to undermine the stability and the peace of Istalia or ist allies we cannot remain hidden within our borders.
Our first goal for the armed forces is the national dafence of course and for this reason I hope to be able to remain at government to promote a new program for the army to introduce new equipments and we will build the soldier of the future. New personal armors and quipements to increase the understanding of the surrounding area through information networks and enhanced sensors.
Our special forces already show some of the best of the equipments disponibile and today our ops forces gave has a great demonstration of how the better technology can fully enhance our abilities.
The AISA with funds of the defence will be able to improve the space equipments of the armed forces in few times and among the most ambitious project that recently the air force. Presented me is a high performance survey orbital system which will protect the air space of istalia in tandem with three missilistic defensive lines to hit the menaces in low orbit, atmosphere and close to the target to be defended.
I can assure to Istalians that this government is fully willing to offer the best defence of our country.

The streets cry out against the new gun law
Il Blocco and various social groups achieve a great citizen mobilization to protest against the new law that guarantees an unprecedented freedom in the use of weapons in Istalia

Image
Demonstration held in Romula, Mezzodiurno, against the Firearms Freedom Act

The Istalian government has suffered a severe parliamentary setback this week by the support of one of the members of the coalition, the Istalian Communist Party, to the proposal presented by the Conservative Party that formally legalizes the free handling of weapons in the nation, thanks to the votes in favor of the Conservatives, the ANI and the communists, with the opposition of the Blocco and the socialists.

At the exit of the parliamentary session, the Minister of Internal Affairs Vittoria Sabini has warned that her ministry will initiate all legal procedures to delay the process of entry into force of the new law, and since the assemblies of the district of Blocco have convened different demonstrations in all the important cities of Istalia, with thousands of people taking to the streets to show their dissatisfaction with the new law.

"What the Communist Party has done, by giving its support to this law, is to leave citizens aside, favor the rich who want to have weapons as if they were toys, and put at risk the lives of all the citizens of our nation. Obviously, all the political parties in Istalia have our ideological differences, but the law that has been approved today in this Assembly is a democratic shame and each and every one of the misfortunes that happen from now on because of weapons they will fall on the consciences of the parliamentarians of the ANI, the Conservative Party and the Communists"
said Mrs. Sabini, visibly angry with her government partners for a break in the vote of such caliber.

The law referred to by the minister, the Firearms Freedom Act as the conservatives have called it, guarantees that any legal weapon in Istalia can be concealed when carried, in addition to allowing any adult to access the purchase of any firearm without any restrictions.

From the regional governments the answers have not been long in coming. The Governor of Trivendito, Ovid Cottrone, has already announced that his government will put all possible restrictions on this new law.

"This new law that has been approved, to whose name I am ashamed to pronounce, will have it complicated in Trivendito. From my government, we will work to put all democratic and legal obstacles to such nonsense. Since the approved law guarantees the free movement of weapons through any area except those in which the property owner expressly prohibits it, the Trivendito government will prohibit carrying them in all areas belonging to the regional government, something that, studied in a flexible way, may include even all the streets of our region, de facto stopping the application of this law"
Mr. Cottrone said, shaking the Communists for their support of the new law, and encouraging citizens to fill the streets to protest against it.

From Il Blocco they have shared all the words expressed by Mr. Cottrone, flooding social networks with signs of discontent and carrying the weight especially in the communists, but also in the ANI.

"We could expect anything from conservatives, but that ANI or even the Communists have supported such a proposal worries me. The law that has been passed in the national assembly is not a" freedom" law, as conservatives call it. It is a law of failure: Failure of true freedoms, abruptly cut by those who from now on can take their weapons wherever they want, when they want and how they want, to harm anyone they want without being blamed. Now, those who can afford to buy a weapon are going to be able to take it everywhere, hide it however they want, and attack those they want, and as always, those who will suffer the consequences will be the lower classes of our society, which they will see as those who they despise them now get more power than ever. "
Has written in her networks Minerva Totti, former Governor of Padagna.
"Now, we have to worry more than ever for our children, from our elderly, from everyone that may be attacked by someone mentally ill. Thanks, Alleanza Nazionale. Thanks, Communist Party."

In the streets, between shouts of "traitors" and "murderers," the crowd of protesters cried out against the law.

"It's embarrassing. Now I'm going to have to always look back, lest anyone want to be funny and attack me with a gun,"
said Helena Tinnia, a retired woman.

Maria Risco, a political science student, has expressed her concern for all women who "
are now going to feel more unprotected than ever before anyone who wants to get over them"

Francesco Curno, father of the family and police, has lamented that now he will have to ask himself every day if in the institute of his children some misfortune will occur one day, and that law enforcement will have a harder time than ever to protect citizens.
"I am not a voter on the left, and I do not share the ideology of the Blocco or the Socialists, but as a policeman it seems to me that this new law is a serious error whose consequences have not been well calculated. I hope they will back down soon."

Pietro Reggio resigns as secretary general of Il Blocco and the party launches a referendum to its militants for the future government
The party must decide in the coming months about its new secretary general and in the coming days about the future of the government

Image
Pietro Reggio, after announcing his resignation as secretary general of Il Blocco following the election results

After the disastrous result of the last general elections, where the current progressive coalition government between socialists, blocists and communists has barely saved the furniture by a difference of less than 10 seats with the right, and where the Left Bloc has achieved the worst result of its history with 91 seats and less than 14% of the votes, the Federal Assembly of the party has unanimously approved to vote a new coalition government with the Socialists and the Communists.

The Federal Assembly of Il Blocco, composed of the five regional leaders, two people per region chosen by popular vote among the militants of each region, the secretary general and the leader of the party, making a total of 17 members, is the highest body authority within the party, and its decisions must be approved by qualified majority. On this occasion, with the favorable votes of all its members, it has been approved to hold a referendum among the militants to decide the next steps to follow after elections that have sat like a jug of cold water within the party, which by for the first time since it was founded, it has lost even regional power by failing to win any Governorship after the loss of Trivendito.

The proposal approved by the Federal Assembly offers several possible scenarios from which to choose in addition to the blank vote, detailed below. After the vote of the Federal Assembly, Pietro Reggio himself has appeared before the cameras to explain the letter they have drawn up and then announced his resignation as general secretary of the party, wishing all party members of the party he founded "good luck in the future "and the wish that, in a short time, he can see a member of Il Blocco as Head of Government of Istalia, as well as the announcement of his signing by the AISA, something that everyone already took for granted, although it remains to be known what position he will occupy within the company:

"Following the celebration of this year's 4618 elections in Istalia, the party leadership has found that the spirit with which Il Blocco della Sinistra was founded is no longer able to mobilize as many voters as it did in the beginning. There are many factors that they may be the cause of this, but since the Assembly, some of those we consider as priorities have been located: the entry and permanence in a coalition government as minor partners during several consecutive legislatures, which eventually ends up benefiting the big party and harming the party small, which sees how it is not possible to carry out its measures; internal disputes that have recently surfaced within the party and that have to try to be carried out, from now on, in the most discreet and constructive way possible in order that is to contribute to improve from within the party itself, and the emergence of new political parties that can dispute the vote to our formation.

For all these reasons, after knowing the results of the last general elections, it has been found that the right, despite having experienced a strong rise, has remained within 5 seats of adding an absolute majority. Therefore, the current coalition between Socialists & Democrats, Partito Comunista d'Istalia and Il Blocco has managed to revalidate the majority by a narrow margin. However, during the successive governments several frictions have arisen with the coalition partners that invite reflection, such as the most recent one related to the firearms debate. Now, in the negotiations, it is when we must ask ourselves what to do to get our party to recover that citizen illusion. That is why we ask you, militant, to choose among the following options the one you consider to be the most appropriate.

This referendum will be binding and the Federal Assembly must abide by the result that comes out of this consultation.

1: Maintain the current coalition government with the same structure, obtaining the number of Ministries proportionally corresponding to the election results.

2: Support a coalition government between Socialists & Democrats and the Communist Party of Istalia, allowing the entry into the Council of Ministers of Mr. Pietro Reggio, attached as independent as Minister of Science but supporting the government externally with a common government program.

3: Support a coalition government between Socialists & Democrats and the Communist Party of Istalia, allowing the entry into the Council of Ministers of Mr. Pietro Reggio, attached as independent as Minister of Science but later moving on to the opposition, without agreeing on a common government program, in view of ideological differences between the three parties.

4: Support a coalition government between Socialists & Democrats and the Communist Party of Istalia, providing the necessary votes for its constitution but without entering the Council of Ministers, supporting it externally with a common government program.

5: Support an investiture of a coalition government between Socialists & Democrats and the Partito Comunista d'Istalia, providing the necessary votes for its constitution but later moving on to the opposition, without agreeing on a common government program, in view of ideological differences between the three parties.

6: Blank vote "

What emerges from this letter, sent to all the militants up to date with payment, is the idea that the support of the communists for the law of firearms has been the straw that has filled the glass for the bloquists, who see as its government partners rely on the right to pass laws that the left does not fully support.

When announcing that it is a binding result, the formation of the next government if it depends on Il Blocco will have to wait for its bases to be pronounced, although several specialized media agree on the belief that option 2 or 3 will be the one that wins, which would allow to Pietro Reggio to remain as Minister of Science, but already as an independent candidate and not as general secretary of the party, and at the same time would give Il Blocco the possibility of, for the first time since its creation, pressuring the Istalia government from outside.

Emperor Alessandro hospitalized with a 'possible' infection
The doctors order six months of complete rest: Prince Nicola will take over the Emperor's duties until his return.

Last public appareance of His Majesty during his institutional tour in Alaria meeting with people in a fair in Eristano

5 January 4619

ROMULA - Following treatment for a "possible" infection, Quattoregni Palace confirmed on Monday that Emperor Alessandro has been hospitalised in the country's Capital. Among the monthly updates given on the 87-year-old royal's health, a report also stated that he'd recently been monitored for a build-up of cerebrospinal fluid.
Doctors are monitoring his condition while administering antibiotics and intravenous fluid, the statement from the Imperial Household Bureau said.

Istalian monarch is currently residing at the Deodato II Polyclinic in Romula and crowds of well-wishers have gathered outside in support of their Sovereign.

Another statement from the Palace read:

In the month of December 4618 a low fever was present. Blood tests showed a possible infection and physicians therefore had to administer antibiotics. After the treatment His Majesty's condition showed some improvement. Now, however, a period of total rest of six months will be necessary to allow His Majesty body and spirit to fully recover.

He has been admitted to hospital several times over the past couple of years, and was last seen in public on 11 July when he spent time visiting his home town of Eristano returning from a tour in Alaria meeting with local authorities and business.

Private Secretary of His Majesty Roberto Al Aflaq told reporters on Sunday that the Emperor visited hospital on doctors' advice and then released this statement:

There is no problem with His Majesty's conditions. From my chats with doctors, there is nothing to be concerned about. Now His Majesty needs only quiet and rest.

The Palace announced that Grand Prince of the Crown Nicola will function as Imperial Regent until Emperor's return. His Majesty already signed the Regency Act which the Chancellor of the Empire transmitted to the Government and the National Assembly for knowldege and record purposes. It is expected that the next Government, due to the recent elections, will sworne in the hand of His Highness the Prince of the Crown.
During the next six months Emperor Alessandro will reside in the Hunting Residence of Terracche Lakes until the winter and then will leave for the north of Alaria where the Emperor will reside in a leased residence facing the sea near Siracosa.

Constantino Gabrielli resigns as leader of the PCN.

Constantino Gabrielli has resigned as leader of the PCN after last august's election results revealed that the right once again failed to win a majority in the National Assembly. His resignation as leader of the PCN lead to an election for a new leader for the party. That election would be won by Augusto Aloia who was the deputy leader of the party. Aloia would announce that he continue the work that Gabrielli had started and finally drive the left into the opposition.

The bases endorse Pietro Reggio but send the party to the opposition
With an overwhelming majority, the bases of the blocists have decided that Il Blocco passes to the opposition this legislature but allowing Pietro Reggio to follow as Minister of Science

Il Blocco della Sinistra has made public this morning the results of the consultation they launched to their militants a few weeks ago, to get their opinion on the future government of Istalia in a binding referendum. The results can be consulted on the website of the match, detailed below:

Option 1: Maintain the current coalition government with the same structure, obtaining the number of Ministries proportionally corresponding to the election results.--> 11.06%

Option 2: Support a coalition government between Socialists & Democrats and the Communist Party of Istalia, allowing the entry into the Council of Ministers of Mr. Pietro Reggio, attached as independent as Minister of Science but supporting the government externally with a common government program.--> 10.13%

3: Support a coalition government between Socialists & Democrats and the Communist Party of Istalia, allowing the entry into the Council of Ministers of Mr. Pietro Reggio, attached as independent as Minister of Science but later moving on to the opposition, without agreeing on a common government program, in view of ideological differences between the three parties.--> 53.68%

4: Support a coalition government between Socialists & Democrats and the Communist Party of Istalia, providing the necessary votes for its constitution but without entering the Council of Ministers, supporting it externally with a common government program.-->5.44%

5: Support an investiture of a coalition government between Socialists & Democrats and the Partito Comunista d'Istalia, providing the necessary votes for its constitution but later moving on to the opposition, without agreeing on a common government program, in view of ideological differences between the three parties.-->15.44%

6: Blank vote.-->3.25%

With these results, an overwhelming majority of the militants have made clear their tiredness with the current coalition government but the will to keep the secretary general of the party as Minister of Science until the next legislature.

After knowing the results, the spokeswoman of the party and current Minister of Environment and Tourism, Carola Vani, has appeared to explain the position of the party from now on until the next elections:

"Our militants have spoken, and as we announced, their opinion would be binding. I am pleased to see that there has been a massive participation of our militants in this referendum, since it is proven that we have their confidence to continue trying to bring our political project to all Istalian households. In relation to the referendum, the winning option does not admit doubts. The option of supporting the formation of a government between Socialists and Communists with the external support of our party, appointing Pietro Reggio as Minister of Science, to later occupy our place in the opposition has won with more than 50% of the votes, a clear distance from the second option. It has also become clear that our militants, or at least a large majority of them, have clearly disagreed with continuing to maintain a government structure like the current one, and that is something we should study now when we elect a new secretary general. Of course, the new government can count on us to pass laws of a progressive nature, and we will always be willing to dialogue with those parties with which we feel close ideologically, but we believe that this is the time to take a place in the opposition and take carry out our proposals without any limitation.

Mrs. Vani has already communicated the result of the consultation to Prime Minister Mossadeq.

PRIME MINISTER CONCERNED BY THE MAJATRAN SITUATION AND TALK ABOUT THE RECENT DIALOGUES WITH KAFURISTAN AND THE PERSONAL FEELING ABOUT THE MAJATRANS WELLBEING WORLDWIDE
Image

Prime Minister Rania Mossadeq this moorning met the press after a long meeting with the Minister of Foregin Affairs Benvenuto Zanti. The Prime Minister expressed to be concerned by the recent development of the continental politics.
Prime Minister Paolo Tarso expressed previously to some confidents some concerns about the rising of several puppet government controlled by the Empire of Zardugal which profited of the spreading instability of last decades. And now in one of this countries seems that the anarchy reigns and news came from Vanuku about raiders, militians and terrorists raiding the northern territories and which forced the Government of Vanuku to intervene directly in Barmenistan.
Prime Minister Rania Mossadeq announced that the Minister of FOregin Affaris was instructed to get in touch with the government of the Majatran Republic of Kafuristan which is also another nation briefly puppeted by Zardugal and which currently is intervening in Barmenistan alongside Vanuku.
The Prime Minister explained that instructed the Minister of Foregin Affaris to pursue as main objective above all the stability of eastern majatra where both Istalia and Solentia lived without trouble for almost 50 years reaching to establish a beneficial friendship.
Then the Prime Minister said that Istalia invited the other nations of Majatra to face the crisis with more diplomatic stances and that Romula would be pleased to help on improve diplomatic tools to solve the crisis.
The Prime Minister focusing on Kafuristan said that Istalia actually asked to Kafuristan government further info about the conflict in Barmenistan and also prompted the establishment of official and regular relations to promote the continuing of the stability in the area. Prime Minister Mossadeq expressed furthermore to the new government of Kafuristan her satisfation to have seen the puppet government in Kafuri fell and also a new fight against integralism and authocratic regimes by part of the socialist party currently ruiling Kafuristan. Prime Minister Mossadeq sent to the new government of Kafuristan her best wishes so that the country could find his way to stability.
Finally the Prime Minister said to be quite interested seeing how the Kafuri Government cares about the well being of the majatrans in our continent as well as worldwide. The Prime Minister said this about the majatrans:

for centuries majatrans have been suffered several injustices and discriminations worldwide and too many majatrans saw their right to autodetermination being denied and suppressed still today, too many time due to their religion. Not too many countries can assure protection without distictions like Istalia and I think that we can be see as a noble intention to try to protect brothers far from home and forced to suffer a lot. On this field Istalia will be more than pleased to cooperate to enhance the protection and the respect for the Majatran culture and peoples and as you can imagine I feel personally involved.

At the end of the interview, the Prime Minister was questioned about the next move about the next government now that the Left Bloc gave its response:

I hope that this minority government will be able to continue to work for the well being of Istalia. However, I cannot hide my concerns about the what could happen in the next years. I cannot hide my concerns about what could do the Left Bloc from the opposition. I noticed how Left Bloc received support for its devolution proposals from the opposition. And I will be clear: if I will see that a supposed friend is instead trying to stab me and the future government in the back, I will personally resign in the hands of the Emperor suggesting next elections.
If such new government as only solutionaccepted by Left Bloc must exist, it must work and be able to work.

Simonetta Giuliani, new General Secretary of the Left Bloc
The new secretary promises to carry out the result chosen by the militants, with a more leftist impulse

Image
Simonetta Giuliani, new General Secretary of the Left Bloc

The bases of Il Blocco della Sinistra have celebrated this weekend the last phase of the election of its new Secretary General after the resignation of its founder, Pietro Reggio. After a few weeks of primaries, where they have been discarded one by one to the least voted candidates, the chosen one to replace Mr. Reggio has been Simonetta Giuliani, a 42-year-old judge belonging to the most left wing of the party.

The new secretary general, a great favorite since the resignation of the former astronaut was known, is a strong advocate of the federalization of Istalia and the application of the meaning of "social republicanism" at its best. She declares herself a strong defender of the rights of women and social minorities, and of her stage as a judge, all her colleagues emphasize her involvement in the defense of these groups, as well as her seriousness and good work, implying herself to the fullest in all cases that have been assigned.

After her election, and in view of a possible electoral advance after the failure of the investiture of Rania Mossadeq for the abstention of the Communist Party, Mrs. Giuliani has claimed to be committed to the vote that the militants carried out and, therefore, to take the party to the opposition once Mrs. Mossadeq is invested.

"The militants carried out a vote, and from the party, we promised to carry it out. In addition, I personally believe that the winning option was, and still is, the best option. Our party needs to be differentiated from the others, highlight its social-republican character and cease to be in the shadow of others. And this is only achieved from the opposition. I also believe that this new stage can benefit the Socialists, who have already been uncomfortable on several occasions with our attempts to to federalize Istalia, and that a departure from us would therefore be beneficial, since neither of us will be committed to accepting the other's proposals."

On the possible electoral advance, the secretary general has affirmed to be prepared to face new elections, but warns that with so little preparation time, "it is evident that the party cannot be prepared correctly, because more time is needed."

Mrs. Giuliani has thanked the militants for the trust placed in her, and has promised to work hard to make the Left Bloc the reference party for the left.

Militancy result:
-Simonetta Giuliani: First Round-->27%; Second Round-->34%; Third Round-->44%; Forth Round-->76%
-Leonio Pignone: First Round-->17%; Second Round-->22%; Third Round-->31%; Forth Round-->24%
-Rina Vernetti: First Round-->19%; Second Round-->28%; Third Round--> 25%
-Tecla Rosati: First Round-->20%; Second Round-->16%
-Gianluca Pacino: First Round-->15%

Left defeated: National Assembly controlled by right wing parties
After 36 years of leftist domination the Istalians turned their vote to the opposite side of the political landscape: great pro-capitalist reforms in sight?

ROMULA - Elections of 4621 can remain in the history due to the fact that the long lasting leftist hegemony on the istalian politics could be arrived to an end: 416 on 681 seats of the National Assembly are now controlled by right-wing parties.

The 4621 elections saw also the Socialists & Democrats losing for the first time in more than 3 decades their position as first party of the country replaced by the Left Bloc which jump to 145 seats, clearly rewarded for its disengagement with the Socialists and Democrats and its more indipendend politics. The lack of activity by part of S&D and their failure in forming a new government with the dissolving Communist Party heavily penalized too S&D, which for the first time in many years showed to be unable to handle the political situation and to maintain united the left.

Now, despite the plurality by LB, also a new coalition with S&D would not allow them to have a majority. Behind LB, in fact, there are the Natural Law League with 129 seats and the National Conservative Party with 117 seats; the National Alliance for the Empire and the Istalian National Party came after S&D (97) with respectively 90 and 80 seats, before Truth and Freedom which gained only 23 seats.
The right thus control 416 seats, a large majority that will allow not only the formation of the first right-wing and center-right government after more than three decades, but will also guarantee the numbers to carry out heavy reforms, primarily in the economic field.

In this regard, to intervene first of all was the new leader of the National Alliance, Stefano Terenzi, elected during the last legislature by the ANI National Congress:

Economic reforms must be the priority of this government! As I was saying for years, the Istalians have been demonstrating their fatigue for the Socialist leadership for a couple of legislatures and today the country has finally and clearly said enough in the long, too long, socialist hegemony.
The parties that have resisted for so many years working and continuing to promote freedom and reforms today have been rewarded and today we, right-wing parties, have finally the opportunity to give back freedom to our country and our economy.
Artisans, large and small entrepreneurs will finally be able to receive a breath of oxygen and we will be able to free them from a truly gargantuan state apparatus and which has too limited the great potential of individual initiative. We will give new confidence for both domestic and foreign investments.
We will cut taxes by intervening on the gargantuan state apparatus of Istalia, which we believe is not exempt from the influence of political interests, and we will thus guarantee to all Istalians more money in their pockets and greater and more equal opportunities for all!
I have already contacted the leaderships of the other right-wing and center-right parties, and above all with Libertino Cesaro, leader of the Naturalist League and who we will support as the next Prime Minister of the Empire.

The ANI's Leader, despite will be a minority partner of such a foreseen next rightist government, seems to be really ready to heavily spur economic reforms with the future partners and foresees very large reforms on the whole field.
