SNP wins 44
March, 4632
Haldor, Kordusia - Snap elections were called for March, 4632 and the Social Nationalist Party, which had little time to prepare, since the parties re-foundation in July, 4631 competed. SNP Candidate for the Dorvish Presidency, Adalbrecht Krantz polled poorly and in the election he received only 9.31% of the total popular vote. Despite this, the SNP performed adequately capturing 44 Deputies within the Federal Council, including a position for party leader Florian Regismund von Rohr-Mauss who was elected out of Dorvan, a traditional base of the Dorvish nobility and a conservative bastion of Dorvik. The SNP didn't find much success in the progressive state of Kordusia but fared far better in the more conservative provinces of MIktar, Dorvan and Westmark. Largonia, a traditional base of the Social Nationalist Party, saw the party finish fourth for its best state-wide election. A majority of the political leadership of the SNP were elected to seats, notably members such as Franz Anton von Rohr-Mauss, Johannes Josef von Bahr, Vithmiris Friedrich von Faust-Essen (the brother of the pretender Dorvish King), Angelika von und zu Gießen, Ursula von Lÿndow-Sennhein and Visclario von Desidier. Despite the opposition to restore the titles of nobility to the families of Dorvik, many of the most popular candidates in the elections were those of noble or royal background. SNP leader Florian Regismund von Rohr-Mauss called out the parties that voted against the "Law on the Dorvish Nobility and Historical Protection" stating that "...denying the noble heritage of the Dorvish people is tantamount to spitting on the flag and burning it." The position of the nobility in Dorvik has long been misunderstood and most of the proponents of the Dorvish nobility have remained heavily involved in Dorvish life at all levels, including politics.
The SNP, which has largely represented the nobility stated that they will continue to push for recognition of the nobility and that it is a focal point of their campaign. Despite opposition, the SNP has called for the Interior Ministry to work towards mandatory identity cards for all Dorvish citizens. SNP Interior Ministry candidate Vithmiris Friedrich von Faust-Essen, a member of the Dorvish Federal Security Service, has called for the issuance of identity cards to all Dorvish citizens and to require them to possess them. "We believe in the SNP that it makes sense. If you are stopped by the police, if you are interacting with the government services provided by the Dorvish government, if you are simply in a car and operating a motor vehicle, you should possess your ID. To deny such basic identifiable information is dangerous and will further degrade Dorvish law and order. We implore the "Middle", the Social Democrats and the National Action deputies to support this when it surely rises up again." Dr.Ida Kaplan, one of the more activist, grass-roots members of the SNP, was outraged to see that the privatization of the Dorvish health care system failed to pass the Federal Council. She applauded current Health and Social Services Minister Manfred Werstein for his support and his parties support in the Federal Council. "Dorvish citizens should not be beholden to the Federal government to provide ALL healthcare. It is impossible for the state to provide everything, it is a leech on the hull of the Dorvish economy's ship and we cannot allow this to continue. We will have private healthcare combined with a federal system of healthcare, we will!"
Despite the controversial vote to allow a voluntary state religion in Dorvik, the SNP did not mention it much in their post-electoral speech.
