Troubling Developments in Keymon Civil Crisis

Last Friday, a clinic treating wounded soldiers near the town of Golden Coast Keymon was destroyed by a large cluster of coordinated explosives detonated by remote timer. At the same time, a letter was received by the main newspaper in Turtle Bay and this daily digest, where a new Terror organization ironically called "Death to Terrorists" claimed responsibility for the explosion. Independent analysts confirmed that none of the main actors in the ongoing Civil War here in Keymon were responsible, and therefore blame for the act was laid on the doorstep of Death to Terrorists. The explosion killed 14, including 3 nurses and 2 doctors who were treating the wounded and dying.

The Letter states simply "The time is now for Keymon to seriously adopt a war against terrorists who would stop legitimate businessmen and women from conducting business. The Government has utterly failed to restore peace and faith in its ability to do so. And the militants who oppose the government are merely another ruling clique who simply wishes to replace the ones who currently occupy the head of the table with those who do not. We people of Keymon are free, and whether a monarch sits atop the throne or a Republican, Keymon deserves peace and the right to be free."

This cryptic letter was signed "Giovanni Francalucci". Francalucci is an international fugitive who has been implicated in drug smuggling operations across Terra, and was recently named in the robbery of the ODEN warehouse in Kaliburg, Kalistan. If this Francalucci and the Francalucci of the letter are one in the same, it would appear that Francalucci intends on taking advantage of the chaos in Keymon to establish a base of operations from which to run his smuggling and other illicit operations. And if these two are the same, this new organization "Death to Terrorists" could be both extremely well funded, as well as well armed and very dangerous.

Fire rages as Costa di Oro Home for Special Needs Children after its destruction by Terrorist Bomb

Explosions rocked downtown Costa Golden yesterday, as one of Keymon's largest orphanages was engulfed in flames. The Costa di Oro Home for Special Needs Children was utterly destroyed by three coordinated bombs. A letter was released, where notorious narcotics smuggling cartel and terrorist organization "Death to Terrorists" claimed responsibility for the bombing. Three children were killed, as were fourteen caregivers, and two children were listed as missing, but believed to be dead. All residents of the home suffer from physical disabilities, and the three deceased children were said to have died from smoke inhalation because they could not escape in time. Many of the caregivers died at the point of the blast and were subsequently horribly burned from the resulting fire.

In the letter claiming responsibility, terrorist leader Giovanni Francalucci said "We hold the Communist rebels who have seized control of this area and declared it a 'people's republic' responsible. The man who we refer to as Jeb!, Sr. Micheli Romani, has set himself up in opposition to the law and order of this state, and as such, has declared that rather than being a friend of the people, he is an enemy. Until the conflict is settled, and until the usurper leaves Keymon, the people of this island know no peace. This target was selected to send a very specific message to the terrorist Sr. Romani: The people here are not your puppets, and anyone who interrupts the legitimate activities of the people will know no peace."

In declaring Romani a "terrorist" Francalucci and his organization has added yet another name to his enemies list, which now includes many people including Prince Carlu and the Queen of Keymon. They have also vowed to strike against any other nations who wish to intervene in the conflict, arguing that intervention will escallate the violence in Keymon.

It is believed that Death to Terrorists have been responsible for more than 6 targeted assassinations, usually of low level individuals, in pursuance of their mission to deal drugs to addicts in Keymon. The source of Death to Terrorists' narcotics has been confirmed to be the ODEN robbery from last year, which has not been reported in the Kalistani press, but which we covered in an earlier story here in Overseas Press. Various quality and organic markers consistent with ODEN product has been found in illicit narcotics sold in Keymon on the Black Market.

In other news, three people believed to be affiliated with Death to Terrorists, Phillipe George, Gugglielmo San Denis, and Rika Campania were killed by local security agents as they attempted to scout a local bank believed to be a target for a planned robbery. All three were lightly armed, and their visual identities matched those of these three terrorists. It was, until yesterday, unclear what effect the death of these three members of the organization will have on the operational power of Death to Terrorists, but the attack yesterday suggests that Death to Terrorists remains active and very dangerous. Local law enforcement armed that they had discovered actionable intelligence about the organization from the three dead terrorists. But it unclear about the nature or significance of the information.

A day of mourning is being organized by the survivors of the attack, to commemorate the death of their charges.
