OVERVIEW: Endrődi Sándor (4697-4734) is the main hero figure for the modern Endralonian people,
leaving his remark on the politics of the Directorial Republic since centuries now. As a convinced revolutionary liberal democrat, he led the Revolution of March, 4715 to victory in Hugamest against the anarchic and miserable status of the monarchy of the Kingdom of Endralon following the death of Ottokar XII, and he was the supreme ideologist and philosophical leader of the Republican Federation throughout the entire Second Endralonian Civil War (4715-4734). Ending this incredibly memorable life with embracing martyrdom through being shot and killed during the siege of Újmakon (January, 4734) in the front lines of the battle, he well deserved his name featured in the national motto of Endralon.
His death, that has been labelled as a crucial moment of the Endralonian history, was recreated artistically several times and by several different artists. However the Symbolist painting of the Hugalonese Genocide survivor Izidora Ajna Šolar became the most popular among all others, because how it represents the feelings and ideas of the death of the "great man", instead of actually recreating what happened. While Endrődi was shot by a Monarchist/Fascist (?) sniper when he and a Republican Federation Army regiment tried to enter the Újmakon Castle of the Baron (today the
Endralonian-Unionite University) from the open Square of the Baron (today the Endrődi Sándor Platz), the picture only takes over the dying body of the revolutionary, and put it into an entirely different, Symbolist environment.
On Šolar's picture, Endrődi wears a traditional Endralonian suit from the pre-2000s era, with tricolor (red-white-green) ribbons all over it. The painting shows us a mountanious environment, most probably the Vörös Mountains, the Directorial Republic's almost only and largest mountain system, which could represent Endralon herself. The paper and the knife next to the dying body both have own meanings, the philosophy of the directorial system and the fighting spirit, both laying on the ground (on Vörös Mountains ground aka Endralonian ground here), representing that both ideas will be embraced by Endralonians. The Rising Sun stands for the new era (the republic) and the end of the Night (the monarchy), proving that Endrődi's life goal was achieved, while he himself look at the Skies (the afterlife), knowning that he did what he had to on Terra.
