4926: Mezei Was Couped Within His Very Own PartyFounded In 4736, Privately Owned, Printed In The Illés Printing Houses, Nagy Street, III. District, Hugamest After the election of Ms. Balog Henrietta to the position of the President of the Directorial Republic, there
was a crisis of power within the Direct Democrat Party, since the libertarian Party Chairman Mezei Dénes who
lost the nomination for Directorial Republic Presidency in 4923, showed desire to stay at the top of the party,
while a significant part of the Direct Democrats wanted to see the newly elected direct democrat President
as their leader and Party Chairwoman. The conflict ultimately ended with a vote of no confidence against the
current Party Leadership (led by Mezei) elected in January, 4904, which ended with declaring "no confidence."
The "pragmatist" or "opportunist" direct democrats in all three factions of the party seeing Mezei as a really bad
symbol, which could be used by the emerging leftist parties against the DD; Mezei was famous about his contempt
of the left and believing in market fundamentalism. The new leader Ms. Balog will not differ from him radically,
based on political scientists, but she will use a different, less elitist rhetoric, which could save the DD's majority.
The Party Congress by-the-way, elected the new Party Leadership as well, consisting 2 seats for the Progressive
and social democrat fraction (Balog's fraction), 2 seats for the Communistic, socialistic and labor fraction and 3
for the Neo-republican and globalist fraction (Mezei's fraction), all this happened in February, 4926.
