Governement in Crisis, PM Pressured from all sides

Friday, 13 November 5189

The newly formed Government is already engrossed in wars of tension, Prime Minister George Bittersmith has not resigned as requested by Labour and Solidarity, in the hope of moving away from his radical right-wing policies, the leader of CSC, spoke on social networks, asking the Prime Minister to quickly look for a successor or she threatens to look for others to deal with the PM, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has not yet given official answers to the requests of its partners, but according to our information, and that of Breaking News Alert, the PM would not seek a successor and will remain at the head of RfE and therefore, will remain Prime Minister, But according to information from the Luthorian Herald and the Luthorian Times, a revolt against the PM will be prepared in RfE and with the support of coalition partners, there is still no reliable information to rely on, and so for now, It’s all speculation, there’s only one question to ask, will the government hold or will it fall?

Bittersmith Faces Revolt in his own Party, Summers likely to become the next PM

15 February 5190,
Image

The Government of Bittersmith is still in crisis, following the refusal of the Prime Minister to resign, Labour and the SCC have announced no more to go to the cabinet meeting because of the internal tensions exploding in RfE, because according to BBL (Breaking News Luthori) and the Herald, the Prime Minister could be cast out through a vote of non-confidence by his own party, as many of his MPs being disdainful with his reign as party leader and PM, the leader of this group of slingers would be Victoria Summers, Chancellor of the Exchequer, who would be preferred if the PM were deposed or if he was willing to resign, but there is little chance that Bittersmith will resign, as he said, via BBL information, quote, "They will have to drag me out", citing in private his failure to resign from the leadership of Rally for the Empire and the post of Luthori’s Prime Minister, his record is rather chaotic, even though his government was stable in relation to his predecessors, the balance against the other parties is mixed, the left calls Bittersmith, a tyrant, a corrupt and a fascist dictator, the right is very generated by the controversial legacy of Bittersmith and tries to distance him and the center wants him to resign, a vote of confidence in RfE must be held in the coming days or months, there are two possibilities either Bittersmith remains in power by winning or he loses and must resign.

PM to face no-confidence vote from his party

Image
"They'll have to drag me out"

Luthorian Prime Minister George Bittersmith is facing a no-confidence vote in the coming days after a series of failed legislation, including a proposed paramilitary task force which would have personally been overseered by the PMO.

Bittersmith has promised to fight on but if he loses the vote he will be out of the top job and a contest to replace him will begin.
The no-confidence vote was triggered after a growing number of parliamentarians in the governing coalition questioned Bittersmith's authority following a series of controversial bills that he failed to pass.

At least 20 percent of RFE members of parliament have to write letters demanding a confidence vote to the chairman of the party to trigger a no-confidence vote.

Just now, Vice-Chairman Ronald V. Smithers said: “The threshold of 20 percent has been broken.” He added that a vote would be held very soon.

BREAKING NEWS

It's now being widely reported that the reason why the National Conservatives Bloc were booted from the coalition was a personal falling out between PM Bittersmith and Home Secretary O'Neal, specifically in regards on the failure of the PMO to inform the Home Office of the plan to establish a paramilitary.

O'Neal was furious to be not included on these talks and obviously his bloc voted no on the proposal, which left Bittersmith fuming with his allies.

This act is why even his own once hardline supporters have also begun their quest to remove him from power.

The opposition is threatening a motion of censure if the internal affairs of the government are not quickly resolved

Image
21 April 5190,

With Cabinet Bittersmith still in crisis, with moderate members of RfE calling for a no-confidence motion against George Bittersmith as leader of the Rally for the Empire, with the PM saying they should force him out, the opposition and more precisely the Progressive Party threatened to table a motion of censure if the government was not prepared to effectively govern Luthori, the leader of the PP, Sir Thomas Williams, said "Luthori does not need a government blocked and stuck in a deadlock, if these gentlemen in front of me do not manage to effectively settle their internal concerns, it would take early elections", no answer came from the government camp, Because the Prime Minister has chosen not to answer any more questions before the crisis is over, Labour and CSC have declared their dissatisfaction with the PM’s policies, which "destroy the country," according to a CSC official, L&S has already announced their intention to no longer attend Cabinet meetings before the situation is resolved peacefully. According to a poll published by our LDC partners, it shows that 55% of Luthorians would be in favour of Elections now, 30 would be in favour if the situation does not settle quickly and 15 are opposed, we must see if the PM will hold or not...

Bittersmith Survives Scathed

Image
"The result is clear as day. I have the full confidence of my party and therefore I can return to my main priorities, which are to lead a strong coalition government and to improve the lives of every Luthorian."

The Prime Minister George Bittersmith won a vote of confidence in his leadership amongst RFE MPs by 36 votes to 30 votes today. The result means that under current Rally for the Empure rules there can be no further votes of confidence in his leadership for the next year. However with that being said the result is clear that Bittersmith barely has support of half of his party with 45% of his party expressing a clear no confidence in his ability to lead the party.

Also, Bittersmith will no doubt have great diffculity governing as Prime Minister as many of his coalition partners will no doubt not be satisified with the results either.

Bittersmith told reporters today,
"The result is clear as day. I have the full confidence of my party and therefore I can return to my main priorities, which are to lead a strong coalition government and to improve the lives of every Luthorian."

Bittersmith may now well look to reshuffle his cabinet to promote those members who were loyal to him and to expel members from ministries like Victoria Summers. However, that would continue to enforce the idea that he leads a divided party, split between Bittersmith loyalists and those who oppose him.

So time will tell if Bittersmith has lived to govern another day, or has his time finally run out.

BREAKING NEWS

Image

George Bittersmith's time as Prime Minister of Luthori has finally come to an end, with the former Rally leader handing in his walking papers in favour of new interim Prime Minister Victoria Summers, who currently controls the Finance Ministry.

In his final speech, he called upon his fellow RFE party members to give their support to Summers, saying "I ask upon not only my party but also the government coalition partners to put their support behind Victoria Summers, who I consider to be a true leader."

He went on to make a very weird comment regarding himself and historical Luthorian statesman Franz Reichert, "like Mr. Reichert did before me. I shall do now, and my watch is ended. God save the King-Emperor, and Hail Luthori."

Despite no longer being PM, Bittersmith will continue to sit as a member of parliament, at least until the next election.

However, it’s not clear whether this is the final chapter to Mr. Bittersmith or perhaps will he decide to run again as Governor-General.

BREAKING NEWS ALERT

Motion of Censure by the Progressive Party !

Image
Wednesday,16 0ctober 5190

After repeated threats from parliamentarians about government instability and the threat of a non-confidence motion in the House of Commons, the Bittersmith and then the Summers cabinet decided to ignore those threats, the PP tabled in the House, a motion of non-confidence against the government, if it succeeds, the government will have to resign and new elections will take place in an I after the adoption of the motion, for the moment, since it has just been tabled, the motion receives only few votes, But the notable support of CSCU, tired of its internal disputes in RfE could tip the balance for early elections, is the government falling apart or will it emerge more strengthened...

Government Invests £54 Billion in the Economy, Gov. to announce full Economic Recovery Plan

Image
Chancellor of the Exchequer Hunperdinck leaves 10.

15 February 5192

Fort William - The government, through the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Hannah Hunperdinck, passed a budget bill in the House and the Senate, Parliament accepted the bhudget and investment bill proposed by the PM and his office, Chancellor Hunperdinck expressed her joy after the passage of the budget, saying
The government has unanimously decided to make massive investments in the economy, I will work closely with my colleagues from all sectors impacted by the investments, to make sure that the economic plan goes as planned.

The plan itself is a vast program of reinvestment in the economy, the country had not experienced it in over 100 years, 10 Crown Street and Sanxingham House (PM’s secondary residence) said in a statement that
the economic recovery plan has been unanimously adopted by the members of the cabinet, and this is only part 1 of this plan, part 2 is still under negotiation between the various parties composing the government.

The stimulus package itself is a package of various investments, such as an investment in infrastructure and transportation of £8 billion, Led by the Secretary of Transport and Infrastructure and in collaboration with the governments of the duchies, an investment of 1 billion pounds for the thermal renovation of houses, Replenishment of funds for the Ministries of Finance and Foreign Affairs, one in order to recruit new staff to carry out this economic plan, and the other in order to better represent Luthori on the international scene, As it seeks to break out of its self-inflicted isolationism, Part 2 of this economic recovery plan, according to our information, may involve the establishment of "Special Economic Zones" (SEZ), which will be designated areas to create an economic stimulus for the Luthorian economy, the federal government will think of giving more power to local governments on the topics of infrastructure, which will be "not recourse of the federal government", according to a senior executive working in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, but with certain conditions, we could not find his conditions, but according to an editorial writer, these conditions would be that the state and the private have a say on the subject.

A Possible Bi-Partisan Plan ?

Image
MP Mark Tyler answer questions from journalists after meeting the PM and Governement in 10. Crown Street, after negociations with them

Several opposition representatives went to 10 Crown Street, even though the 10 says his visits are for "other bills the government would like to see passed," many opposition traders like Mark Tyler, MP from Luthorian Labour have already confirmed that the government had called for their opinion and their economic suggestions, Mark Tyler, had confirmed it in the House of Commons after a journalist from LBC One had asked him the question "Did the government ask you and your party to negotiate and collaborate with it on the economic recovery plan", the government’s response was without appeal, saying "Of course, the government agreed with us, as did all the opposition parties, to discuss with it the economic recovery programme, and they invited us to make suggestions in the programme and to express our opinion.

The effect of a bipartisan plan would be very beneficial for Luthori, with the ghost of political instability spreading more and more, this would be beneficial for the image of politicians in general in Luthori, being seen as corrupt, thinking of their own image and interests, It could be beneficial for Luthori.

Governement to Launch Great Infrastructure Renovation Plan

Image
Luthorian Secretary for Infrastructure and Transport Hendry Wise walks outside of Crown Street, Fort-William, Luthori

Fort-William - Announced by the government after the massive investment made by the latter, a plan of renovation of the infrastructure in Luthori will be observed by the latter, with a collaboration with the governments of the duchies, who will be the masters of this project, With some supervision coming from Fort William, the government will set up the project, and will ask the governments of the duchies to implement this project, the Senate and the House must still vote on the project before it is implemented.

The project itself is a great plan, using the £8 billion, and a lot of private investment around £4 billion (from companies, people, etc...), this plan of £12 billion will be completed by the duchies which will contribute up to 2 billion each, which will bring this project to about £22 billion to renovate, to expand existing infrastructure or create new infrastructure if existing infrastructure is too old to be renovated, the government’s short-term goal is to renovate approximately 5,000 km of railway, airport road, Station etc..., in the medium term, to have renovated half of the infrastructure present in Luthori, consisting of 15,000 railways, roads, hundreds of stations, dozens of airports and ports, and the long-term objective is to have renovated the entire infrastructure in Luthori, that is, about 30,000 km of railway tracks and roads, the 50 airports (international or national) present in Luthori, and the 13 ports present in Luthori.

The government has already announced that this is not a plan to build infrastructure, the subject of which will be the responsibility of local governments, it is only a plan to renovate the existing infrastructure in Luthori, they will be rebuilt if their condition does not allow a renovation, the government has announced the creation of motorway concessions for the highways, the government has announced that the concessions will be put in place after the renovation of the various highways, Some members of the cabinet even think that the longest national roads should be privatized, which will remain under the authority of the State of Luthori. But no clear answer from the 10th was sent on this subject.

CHANNEL 7

Henry Wise: National Highway system goes partially private.
First phase, National Highway 3 from Fort William to exit 49.

Secretary for Infrastructure and Transport Henry Wise announced the introduction of a toll roads within the national highway system. "This is the first phase" stated Secretary Wise "We are going to test this construction that we have set up and we will be looking at the results in 2-3 years. I am convinced that this will lead to a succes story that we desperately need for Luthori's national highway system."

Several pieces of the National Highway system will come under the management of privately owned Luthori construct. The government will still own the roads, but Luthori construct is responsible for it's repair and maintenance of their particular sections. This government we will subsidize 33% of the initial repair cost, while Luthori construct will bear the remeaning 67% of the cost in exchange for 35 year toll rights. The first highway, that will serve as a test, is national Highway 3 from Fort William, Orange to Alchester, Erneshire. The toll road will start from Fort William all the way down to exit 49. Once the initial testing phase has reached satisfactory results, then the project will be rolled out on the whole national highway system. Several other companies, including international ones, have stated their intrest in the project. Secretary Wise is open to the idea of several companies operating on one national highway road as long there is a unified payment system with a transparent tariff system.
