The Emperor visits Midway
His Majesty and the Foreign Minister met the local government to discuss about future trade agreements and about the situation in North Dovani

MANAPO - The government coalition between AN and PL led by Eros Monaldi was reconfirmed in the last elections and thanks to the dialogue begun at the end of last term between Istalia and Midway, two days ago the Emperor, accompanied by the Foreign Minister, landed in capital of the central dovanian country to meet the leaders of the local government.

The Emperor was welcomed by President Alamieyeseigha at the Presidential Palace where the two heads of state spoke privately and then released a joint press statement while the Foreign Minister met his Midway counterpart with whom he stayed much longer.
If the Emperor and the President discussed increasing relations between Istalia and Midway and future trade agreements, the two Foreign Ministers focused on a decidedly more delicate topic, namely the situation in North Dovani.

Since the military junta came to power in North Dovani and the Istalian Government decided to impose sanctions on the country, Istalian diplomacy has been working to establish relations with other Dovanian countries aimed to establish new trade agreement, always trying to secure stable influx of raw materials, especially rare earth elements for its large technological and superconductor industry, as well as to find new markets for its products. Although Midway lacks of valuable natural resources, it is a key nation for the dovanian trade, it controls the Midway canal and establishing trade agreements with this nation will means that Istalian business will have more easily access to dovanian markets.

About North Dovani, the Istalian Government offered assistance to Midway in their efforts to bring aid to the refugees from North Dovani but it never hide that it tried to convince the Midway Government to take more serious actions against the North Dovanian regime despite the firm neutrality stance of the Government of Manapo, underlining how the population of North Dovani is suffering so much abuses and crimes.
The Istalian government, however, did not set conditions or demanded the adoption of more severe measures, respecting the decisions of the local government, but, as the Prime Minister had announced, Istalia could not avoid trying to do so, in line with the effort to involve more and more nations in aligning themselves against the military regime.

CHINASA - After the return of democracy in North Dovani Emperor Tommaso and Prime Minister Monaldi traveled for the first time in the north dovanian nation to meet Chinasa's Government. Such a state visit indeed was already planned to be done at the end of the civil war but at the time both the government agreed to wait for the stabilization of the situation, for the finalization of the new democratic constitution and for the first democratic elections. The military coup against the leftist government, however, screwed it up.

Now that the military regime was shot down and democracy was re-established, the Istalian and North Dovanian Governments agreed on the state visit and both the Emperor and the Prime Minister landed thus on Chinase to meet the new democratic authorities.
The Istalian authorities have been really warmly welcomed by the population once in Chinase showing the appretiation of the population for the efforts of Istalia in supporting and helping the cuntry in its fight against the dictatorship, with thousands of people gathered along the city roads to greet the Istalian Emperor and Prime Minister on their trip between the airport to the residence of the Governor-General.

There, the Emperor met with the Governor-General while Eros Monaldi met North Dovanian Prime Minister and the first thing that the Istalian and North Dovanian heads of state and government did was attending a cerimony to remember the late Prime Emeka and all the people that died at the hands of the military regime. The Emperor met in person the family of Premier Emeka who has been posthumously awarded with the Order of the Freedom, awarded to nationals or foreigners who have distinguished themselves for their love of freedom and their devotion to the cause of human rights and social justice, particularly in the defense of democratic ideals.

The Emperor then, accompanied by the Governor-General, gave a speech in front of the North Dovanian Congress where he praised and congratulate the North Dovanian people for their role in defeating the military junta wishing for the future of the country a stable and long-lasting period of peace under the banner of freedom and democracy and wished that Istalia and North Dovani could establish a fruitful friendship relationship.

Prime Minister Monaldi, indeed, talked about his North Dovanian counterpart about future cooperation with North Dovani, especially on the economic and commercial side, resuming the talks about an economic and trade agreement between the two countries. Already before the military coup Istalian business was expanding into North Dovani and Istalian business began to import raw materials from there but with the Junta at the power and the sanctions imposed by Istalia talks were severed and istalian investments forced to withdraw.
Prime Minister already assured that the sanctions against North Dovani will be removed and that Istalia is ready to come back to invest in the country and underlined how the establishment of a trade agreement will finally brough a lot of prosperity to both the countries.

In fact, about the efforts against the military junta, before to leave for North Dovani Prime Minister Monaldi authorized to make public reserved documents which showed how the Istalian Intelligence actually supported the rebels in their fight against the dictatorship: after established contacts with the Huhoas rebels funds and weapons were provided to them, as well as agents where dispached in North Dovani to help the rebels providing strategic and tactical support and intelligence about Junta's forces movements, positions, etc... The psy-op divisions helped also in destabilize the loyalty of the Junta's forces and in confunding Junta's authorities.

It is the first time that the Istalian government releases such detailed infos about the operations of its Intelligence services but as stated by the Prime Minister this fully show the veritable committment of Istalia in the name of democracy and freedom, ready to support people fighting against dictature and oppression. In doing so Prime Minister Monaldi praised the great effectiveness of the Istalian Intelligence, not only for its performances on the field but also for its ability in carry out its operations in the most discreet way, and clearly he subtly warned all those country actually considered by Istalia as rogue nations (dictatures, failing democracies, authoritarian regimes, suprematists and racial regimes, etc...) which probably will hardly be able to rest easy.

The cooperation between the University of Torre d''o Sulento, VerTech company and the Advanced Robotics Research Center of the Technocitadel of Burìa has led to this great result and it is already expected that robotic systems of this kind will soon be present in the major hospitals in the country.
But this is only a first step in the future of medicine that will be able to make use of more and more revolutionary technologies: personalized medicine; nanoscale medicines; big data, biometrics; machine learning, AI and advanced analytics; stem-cell medicine; digital health; genetic engineering and bioprinting; gene therapy and editing; etc...

Trade deal with North Dovani
Barbani's government intervention and the news about the trade deal put an end to the economic slowdown of recent years generated by the effects of the unstability in the north dovanian nation and which has hit particularly the poorer segments of the population

The new year begins with good news for Istalia and its economy which in the last seven years has experienced a considerable slowdown in growth, an increase in the prices of materials and an increase in inflation which has particularly affected the less rich of the population. The financial markets have also been particularly affected by this slowdown and consequently the insurance market, highly developed especially following the privatization of the health sector that has been in place for several decades, with particularly serious consequences for the poorer segment of the population. But there were also a lot of middle-class families that due to the economic slowdown had to make a lot of sacrifices and suffered a decline in their revenues and in general economic disparities have considerabilly increased.
At the origin of this instability there was the great exposure of the Istalian business in the North Dovani market, whose internal vicissitudes of the last few years have also been reflected in Istalia, with a large part of the business forced to leave North Dovani by the sanctions and following drastic drop in imports of materials.

Monaldi government, which had imposed sanctions, had deployed resources to compensate for the losses resulting from the almost total trade embargo against North Dovani, but in the end the effects on the Istalian economy were felt anyway and this also contributed to the victory of the previous elections by part of the center-left coalition, which has deployed additional resources to help the most affected Istalian families to deal with the crisis.
However, it does not seem that an agreement has been found between the government partners for the reform of the health system which, in view of the upcoming elections, has remained unchanged, based on a myriad of insurance institutions that today are however facing serious sustainability problems, mainly because the very liberal legislation of the last few decades has loosened controls and allowed many financial and insurance companies to invest money in high-risk operations, nations and sectors. Surely this issue will be central topic for the elections of next March.

The trade agreement with North Dovani, a legacy of Monaldi Governments, could make return give several points to AN, although we have to see if the intervention of the current Barbani's government will reward instead the current center-left coalition, but above all the agreement news it has already made the country's most important equities bounce, pushing up the growth forecasts for next year. The trade agreement will make North Dovani the preffered trade partner of Istalia in Dovani, which will import from there dozens of billions worth resources like rare earth materials, needed needed for mobile phones, semi-conducters and any other electric equipment, as well as production and tranport of LNG and Crude oil and of course Istalian business and the Istalian sovereign fund will be able to significally invest in North Dovani business. But among the most advantageous parts of the agreement, there is the one according to which the terms of the trade agreement will be guaranted no matter what government is in power for at least the next 50 years.

ROMULA - As the previous most recent polls had predicted, AN reported a clear victory at last election in 5201 by winning over 200 seats in the Chamber of Deputies, mainly at the expense of Hosian Democracy but also by stealing votes from the Liberal Party, its ally two legislatures ago, while the two communist parties have their support slightly increased.

Probably what affected the losses of HD was the not very firm leadership by Dario Barbani and it seems that the moderate demohosian voters have judged the alliance with the two communist parties as unsatisfactory and uneffective, a difficult collaboration that even led to the failure of the health care reform, the workhorse of the center-left coalition during previous electoral campaigns.

The seriousness and activism of AN's opposition and certainly the finalization of the trade deal with North Dovani, results of the previous governments led by Eros Monaldi, which has significantly affected the stabilization and overcoming of the economic slowdown of the last five years, have favored the party of the Duke of Sàxera who began immediatly to negotiate for a new agreement with the Liberals.
Contrary to what even the National Secretary expected, the Liberals expressed initially disconfort for a new coalition with National Alliance claiming not to share the vision of Monaldi's party and leadership for the future of the country and fearing a overwelming role of AN in the future government.
Despite it seemed a quite categorical refusal, this didn't stop Eros Monaldi in trying to convince the Liberals, especially after that the President of the Chamber proposed once again the leader of HD to led a government formed by all center-left parties and the Liberals, and finally he achieved to convince the leadership of PL to join once again AN into a government coalition easing the concerns about the lack of space for PL and assuring them that AN is always ready to talk and negotiate for the best comprimeses.

About this, the Duke of Sàxera said later to the journalist:

This is democracy! Talks, dialogue, negotiations, and the finding of the best shared solutions, accepting comprimises, respecting the ideals and positions of the representatives of the citizens. I was clear with our colleagues of PL: "It is true, we need you to form a majority, and it is our responsability toward those who supported us to find a compromise with you to offer solutions for the country in line with the popular will and we are always ready to hear you and find the best shared path".

I know that AN and PL are natural allies and I pointed out to them that the best option for the country, in order to respect the popular will, would be another coalition with us. What could they share with center-left parties and their very statalist economic proposals? How PL could increase civil liberties facing the very conservative hosiandemocrats?

I'm glad finally we found an agreement and I can assure you that once again AN and PL will assure to the country a solid and stable government, we will continue to expand and defend our liberal economy and we will increase civil freedom for our citizens.
The Government, furthermore, is ready to do its part in continuing the efforts for recovering from the economic slowdown of previous years, but not through assistentialism like the previous government, but through long-term investments which will grant economic growth, reduction of unemployement and long term beneficial solutions for our citizens.

Istalia's best-known statesman of last century, true dean of Istalian politics, probably equal only to the equally experienced former Prime Minister Dario Barbani, who led the National Alliance for over three decades, which for almost half a century was consistently the nation's first party, has the intention to present as soon as possible as first government action the vast package of reforms in the economic field to counter the statist changes introduced in the last legislature by the center-left government. Strengthened by the weight of his political group, Eros Monaldi seems intent on pushing the Liberals to support more incisive reforms than their last collaboration.
The announcement of future deregulations have further stimulated the markets already fueled by the agreement with North Dovani and the most recent growth estimates foresee a return to excellent performance and a definitive overcoming of the economic slowdown within the year.

It also announced that a new plan for the development and modernization of the Armed Forces will be presented, which will include the construction of a new large LHDs with aircraft carrier capabilities, an expansion of the number of Navy vessels, the introduction of new vehicles and aircraft for both the Army and for the Air Force, a modernization of defense and electronic and space surveillance systems. The new plan, the Prime Minister said, will respond to the challenges that the country will have to face in the new century, both strategic and humanitarian challenges, especially in the light of a renewed international commitment by part of various nations of the world that until a few decades ago had had a very limited participation on the international scene.

The whole country is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Third Istalian Empire and everywhere in Istalia, in the big cities as in the pleasant provincial villages, there are celebrations and events of all kinds (it has been estimates that over 27.000 banquets and street parties have been organized in whole Istalia) to celebrate the event, celebrations not only for a century marked by the imperial restoration but also and mainly for the rediscovered identity and national unity, for the pride, prosperity and greatness returned to the country and to the Istalians.

But since the beginning of the year, the previous months have been characterized by events organized throughout the territory linked to the centenary, from school festivals to concerts, from village fairs to museum exhibitions. Regarding the latter, two of the most important and which will remain open until the middle of next year are: "Istalia to be rediscovered", at the Palace of Exhibitions of Caleon, dedicated to the efforts made during the 51st century to restore Istalia and strengthen the identity bond of the Istalians; the other, at Romula at the Museum of Istalian Civilization (at the Royal Palace of Haxons), "Istalia: Country of a thousand faces", is dedicated instead to the numerous cultural facets, and to the varied uses and customs present on the Peninsula and the Island, celebrated definitively as an integral part of the culture and history of Istalia, something that now definitively differentiates the Istalia of today from that of the past.

Extremely warm, and there was no doubt, was the welcome for our beloved Emperor Tommaso III who, although on the threshold of 88 years, did not hold back in embarking on a tour across the country with the equally beloved Empress Elisa at his side, as always during all their happy 54 years of marriage.
The Grand Prince and the Grand Princess of the Crown Alessandro and Vanessa, together with Grand Prince Nicola Alessandro, have also participated in various events throughout the country in recent months, inaugurating exhibitions and monuments, attending festivals and fairs, taking on numerous institutional committments in place of the Emperor who for about ten years has now increasingly relied on his son, involving him more and more in the management of state affairs and therefore paving the way for a future transition which, in the light of the advanced age of the Emperor, it could happen in the next few years.

The crucial day of the celebrations opened in Romula with the Emperor and the highest officials of the state attending solemn state cerimonies first at the Monument of the Istalian Liberation (sometime refered as Altar of the Nation) and then at the Imperial Mausoleum.
Then the Emperor and the Grand Prince of the Crown, one in Romula and the other in Caleon, the two Institutional Capitals of the Empire, attended two sumptuous military parades organized in the two capitals, a very first time for Caleon (where, according to some rumors, the traditional military parade of the Day of the Empire next year could be held, and then alternate annually with Romula).
Both the two parades saw the participation of battalions and vehicles from all the Armed Forces as well as platoons of members of relief organizations, humanitarian associations, NGOs, etc... and therefore various bands and folkloric groups from all over the Peninsula's and the Island's towns and cities.
Once again dividing the tasks, the Emperor in Alaria, in Pontelasa, and Prince Alessandro in the Peninsula, in Milona, then inaugurated the National Craft Fair and the National Design Fair respectively, where quality and sophistication of products of the Istalian excellence and style were celebrated, from fashion to interior design, from ceramic productions to those that use the most innovative materials, etc....

Faro, now in the evening, was therefore the stage of the most pop celebrations of this day, with a great show held at the foot of the Tower of the Istalians, attended by over 60 thousand people gathered in the main square alone, where the Imperial family made the its appearance on the stage acclaimed by all those thousands of people, with the Emperor giving a speech broadcasted to the whole nation with which he expressed several times how honored he was to have served the Istalia, acclaiming the efforts of all Istalians to rebuild and definitively raise the country from one of the most difficult periods in its history and therefore expressed his gratitude for the constant affection shown him by the whole country during all his long years of reign:

I was born when our country had taken on again the name Istalia a little over a decade before. I grew up in a country that was rebuilding its identity and rediscovering its identity, facing many challenges but with a spirit full of hope for a new future.

I am grateful to have been able to see this great country of ours rise and return to rise among the great democracies of the world and that it has managed to regain the serenity and prosperity of the past.
And above all I am honored to have been able to serve my country and my people during these years, a people who have once again shown all its tenacity, all its strength, all its brotherhood and all its will to proudly rise again as a single nation.

Today we celebrate all this and celebrate the never dormant spirit of all the great fathers and mothers of the nation of the past, to whom ideals of democracy, justice and tolerance we have remained always faithful, deeply engraved in our souls, and I personally pay homage to you, my beloved fellow citizens, the protagonists and architects of this rebirth.

And I wish and I shall thank you all for all the affection and steady support you have shown me during all these long years since I answered the call of my duties. I also thank you for supporting my wife and me since our paths crossed and for having done the same with my whole family.
I am extremely happy to be able to celebrate this crucial anniversary with you, looking at you, a good part of you, as my children or grandchildren, warmed by so much of your affection that can only push me to wish you a happy and prosperous future, for each of you.

Long live the Empire! Long live Istalia!

The show was followed by a fireworks display that involved the entire city, the Tower of the Istalians as the center of the show, which almost dwarfed the fireworks display organized in the city for the Golden Jubilee of the Emperor few years ago, and then by a concert attended by the most important artists of the music scene of the moment where, however, only the Grand Princes of the Crown remained to attend, allowing the old Emperor to retire to rest.

As usual, the sumptuous event attracted thousands and thousands of visitors from all over the world to the country, always fascinated by the spectacularity and sumptuousness of the state and Crown events organized in Istalia and with the summer at the gates both the cities of art and the provincial towns have been inundated with tourists, who have been able to savor the festive spirit in the streets of the cities and all the flavors of the cuisine and agricultural products for which the Istalian province is now famous.
In attracting so many tourists, of course, contributed also the glamor that surrounds the imperial family like a golden halo, with many who tried to snatch a photo or a glimpse of the Istalian royals at one of the numerous public events organized throughout the country.

ROMULA - The sad announcement arrived in the middle of this afternoon stunning an entire nation: His Most Excellent Imperial Majesty Tommaso III, Emperor of the Istalians, died at the age of 89 after 63 years of reign.

His Majesty had just reached his office when he was hit by a an embolism which caused an ischemic stroke. Despite the sudden intervention of the doctors and the emergency transport to the Deodato II Polyclinic, his Majesty died shortly after arriving in hospital. His Majesty was not alone: the Empress, with whom the Emperor had lunched a few hours earlier, followed him to the hospital and stayed with him until the very end.
The Grand Prince of the Crown Alessandro, on the other hand, arrived shortly after, having returned urgently from a visit to a school in a town near Reggio Ingris, preceded by his family, Princess Vanessa and their children Nicola Alessandro and Elisa, who instead were at house in Villa Sironi-Talliani.

The death of Tommaso III marks the end of a real era for Istalia, someone had already defined it as "Tommasian Era" a few years ago, and emotion is already taking over the country. For most of today's Istalians, Tommaso III was the only Emperor they ever knew and for years now he had become a true father figure for the whole country, a "father or grandfather" as he himself felt, as he said only last year during his speech to the nation for the centennial, and for millions he did. The deep respect and affection of the Istalians for Tommaso III is already manifesting itself in these very early hours in Romula where thousands and thousands are flocking to Palace Square to parade in front of the gates of Quattroregni Palace and deposit a bouquet of flowers, a photograph, a note, a dedication, etc...

From tomorrow, the coffin of His Majesty will lie in state for three days in the Throne Room of Quattroregni Palace which will remain open to the public until the 25th when the solemn state funeral will be held at the Minor Basilica of All Angels. The federal and city organisational machine has already set to work to put in place the safety and public order provisions that had already been planned for some time to welcome, as it is expected, over two million people who will flock to the Capital in the next two days from all over the country to pay homage to the beloved Emperor.
The Imperial Household too has began already to work for the organization of the funeral and, in coordination with the Foreign Ministry, is getting in touch with the chancelleries of the rest of the world to present the invitations for the state funerals to the foreign authorities who, as expected, will be very numerous to attend the last farewell of our beloved Emperor Tommaso.

The Grand Prince of the Crown therefore succeeds his father by ascending the throne as Emperor Alessandro IV at 52, while Prince Nicola Alessandro (16) became the new heir to the throne.
Grand Princess Vanessa became instead the new Empress Consort while Empress Elisa will be known since now as The Empress Mother Elisa.
Tomorrow morning the Imperial High Council will meet for the official proclamation of the new Emperor of the Istalians and the date of the Inauguration Day of the reign of Alessandro IV will probably also be announced, lickely in December, before next year's general elections to be held in March.
Surely Tommaso III leaves a heavy legacy to his son who, inevitably, will have to deal with the figure of his father for a long time and certainly he will have to strive to keep his memory and legacy high.

ROMULA - Rarely the country has witnessed to a demonstration of affection and respect comparable to the one today Istalia and the world reserved for the late Emperor Tommaso III.

Over 2,5 million of people flooded the capital filling the streets and the squares of the city also just for a glipse of the coffin of the Emperor which escorted by a massive procession crossed the city from Quattroregni Palace to the Minor Basilica of All Angels.
The city authorities placed several giant screen in the public parks and largest squares of the city while the funeral has been broadcasted worldwide becoming one of the most viewed event of history.

The whole Imperial Family, headed by the new Emperor Alessandro IV, who has thoughtfully supported the heartbroken Empress Mother Elisa for the whole day, followed the coffin from the Palace to the Basilica really feeling all the closeness and affection of His people with whom he surely shared the sorrow for such loss, feeling all Istalians like they had lost a loved father or a grandfather.

When the procession reached the Basilica, all the Istalian state authorities, headed by Prime Minister Monaldi, and all the foreign dignitaries were already at their place.
The massive partecipation of Heads of State, Crowned Heads and delegations from most of the nation of world, as well as numberous official and public expression of sorrow worldwide, have been a further evidence of the stature of Tommaso III and the great respect he gained during his long years of reign.
Among the international guests there were the close family friend the Kalistani Empress Elizabeth I, accompanied by the Foreign Minister Robert Stuart, who plans to stay in Istalia for a whole week to remain close to Empress Elisa who was greatly comforted by the Kalistani Empress; from Dorvik came the King Leopold VIII, the State Chancellor Katja Steinheill, the Foreign Minister Gregor Stadtbäumer and Defense Minister Leonhard Herwig; President Arijit Basu for Malivia; from Kalopia the Triarch Yannis Barbou on behalf of the Triarchy, Prime Minister Yorgos Kouroglou and his husband First Knight of the Republic Herakles Rousselis; the Tukarali President Óscar Nogueira and Minister of Foreign Affairs Margarida Rodrigues; the Deltarian Prezident Veronika Vajanska; the Kundrati President Damir Tomas; from Luthori came Deputy Prime Minister Stuart Gilbert with a delegation (Foreign,Trade, Infrastructure Secretaries & Special Advisor to PM on economic cooperation Kevin Leonard); from Sekowo came Empress Ayako and Prince Consort Tsugunaga; ; the King of Lourenne Louis IX; King Franz Georg III and consort from Dolgava; Hutori President Kathleen Davidson.

After the funeral at the Basilica, the body of Tommaso III left for his last jurney until the Imperial Mausoleum of Istalia where he has been buried in the company of all the other Istalian Emperors of the past.
