Comrades and friends, Fellow Members of the Non-Aligned Movement, it is with troubling sadness that we must open the Permanent Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement during a time of Strife and War.
While not speaking for the NAM, I have been asked to come before you by Her Imperial Majesty, Empress Nicolette I Ananto, to first of all bring you greetings, and secondly to enunciate her Majesty's will in regard to Kalistan. We call for peace in this conflict between our Brothers in Lourenne, and their adversaries in Beiteynu. It was not long since those two nations were friends, and cooperating. And now they stand at the precipice of war and are at one another's throats. And further more, they are threatening to drag other nations, including some in this very body, down with them.
We do not want that. We implore you, Member States to press your government for definitive statements of non-alignment and non-intervention in this war. If we cannot prevent war, our next option is to do what we can to isolate it to the greatest extent possible, and prevent it from spreading. This can be a role for the Non-Aligned Movement in this context. Her Imperial Majesty would like for all those who are not active combatants to live in peace and abundance, and we can further that goal here by preventing the conflagration from spreading to a conflict between two major powers and their allies, into a world war that engulfs us all.
For those who seek peace, we urge adoption of the Non-Aligned Treaty, found here (

As for Kalistan, The Empress has ordered that the Ananto Strait will remain closed to all non-Anantonese Military traffic, until tensions are lessened and the world is pulled back from the brink. All those making an effort to challenge our limits, especially in the south will be stopped and turned back, and if they will not stop, they will be fired upon, first with warning shots, and then if those warnings are not heeded, with shots aimed to disable. All return fire will be met with deadly force. Creating this block to easy transit in and out of the Anantonese Ocean will be our contribution to the Peace Effort.
We urge other nations to adopt a similar policy to prevent the spread of this conflict to our neighbors and eventually to us.
