Kadenite confirms development of reconnaissance satellite
April 5376

Image

Amshinov, Beiteynu - An up and comer in the technology and aviation space of the Equifund, Kadenite has been a close partner of aerospace manufacturer Sato since almost the company's inception and foundation 2.5 decades ago. Company executives confirmed this morning that the development of a reconnaissance satellite dubbed Ofeq (Luthorian: Horizon) specifically designed to be retrofitted on Sato's Shavit rocket currently in testing, has been in progress as part of the Beiteynuese Government's 2.3B LOD grant on the development of space hardware (as announced in 5374).

Although at first there was wide speculation on the source of the grant, it has been confirmed that the Beiteynuese Government's MOD's Department of Defence Contracts had issued 3 agreements to Sato, Black Beisa and Kadenite, which included the development of 1 missile, the Shavit rocket and the Ofeq satellite. Alas, rumours around Beiteynu attempting to "up its spy game" have not been unfounded, as the country's "boots on the ground" strategies are rapidly failing; with the Kundrati investigation 2 years ago and the recent decision by the Baltusian Government to withdraw from the diplomatic framework notwithstanding.

Further details have been deemed classified by the MOD itself.

BREAKING NEWS
I.R.S. asks Ramatkal to hand in all info related to alleged foreign money
The Internal Revenue Service of Beiteynu has formally issued a request to Benjamin Benowitz to clarify the nature of his alleged foreign money bank accounts.

YISHELEM, ENDILD - The I.R.S. made known on Thursday morning that the Agency has completed a check-up over top Government's officials finances, among them the Rosh Ha'Memshala Matan Rafael, the Ramatkal Benjamin Benowitz, the Ministers and some Knesset members, revealing that these personalities all pay their fair, and legally mandated, share of taxes on incomes to the Government.
This is relieving for the people, who see that their leaders are indeed leading by example when it comes to paying taxes, avoiding illegal acts such as tax frauds or tax evasion, a crime which costs Beiteynu several BEIs a year.

The I.R.S. check-up though revealed that Ramatkal Benowitz's wealth is not entirely taxed: while Benowitz pays all of his taxes on his Government's income source, the salary as Ramatkal, he has something like 24 Billions LOD stored in different bank accounts outside the nation, on which he doesn't pay any dime in Beiteynuese taxes. From the I.R.S. they explain that this is a perfectly legal move, but it's a common loophole used to avoid full taxation in Beiteynu, which for Mr. Benowitz would amount to 38%, the highest bracket for the wealthiest in Beiteynu. To investigate, I.R.S. has requested Benowitz to hand in all the informations that possibly pertain to this issue, to determine whether wrongdoings were committed.

Here at the Sholemberg Post Editorial Board we asked ourselves this: is Ramatkal doing this on purpose? does the second-highest-ranking Beiteynuese really want to set this as example? why our laws still permit this to happen?
We also reached out to Ramatkal Benowitz and MOFIN Aristocrat-Goldbloom, the first to allow himself to explain, the second to understand what the Ministry plans on doing to avoid this and if he has any comment.
The Rafael Administration and the Office of the Ramatkal will take a hard look as to why the organisations of the Beiteynuese Government under the purview of the MOFIN are wasting resources in chasing ghost stories and attacking their own.
- Benjamin Benowitz, Ramatkal, interviewed by the Sholemberg Post

I will not comment on another Government's official judicial conduct as I am not a Magistrate and I believe in presumption of innocence. As for the loophole you're describing, we will discuss, in the Rafael Administration, the best path forward to tackle this issue.

Medinat Department pushes for de-militarisation in the Migrant's Pass
February 5377

Image

Yishelem, Beiteynu - In witnessing the stability brought forth by the promising developments in Malivia over the course of the last decade and the country's policy of non-alignment - which the Beiteynuese Government vowed to honour as part of Malivia's ratification of the Beiteynuese Framework of Diplomacy and Friendship - Yishelem has gradually been de-escalating its active military focus in the area. The Medinat Department has however been treading carefully, recognising that the Migrant's Pass will always remain one of the most important locations of interest to the State of Beiteynu; and with good measure, considering how that body of water connects our country to almost all of its trade network across the world.

"We will be decreasing the frequency of patrols in due time", the Nisrad's Permanent Representative to the MSCO stated, "and eventually seek to phase it out with the MSCO's permanent Maritime Security Group with the council. Granted, we'd like to see a similar predisposition from Haldor, at the same time". As per Beiteynuese Law, the Nisrad and the Kohav have joint command of the MSCO's permanent formation in the Migrant's Pass, as assigned to Beiteynu by the MSCO, which at present is consisted of Beiteynuese and Deltarian forces.

The Yishelem Post
Discussions with Kalistan on groundbreaking Seleyan partnership underway
November 5377

Image

Yishelem, Beiteynu - Seleyan relations have been a matter of contention within the Medinat Department and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in general since the beginning of the 53rd century. The continental-wide tour in 5286 although offering various diplomatic and commercial avenues across the decades, did very little to establish firm relations with any particular Seleyan country. Unlike the continents of Artania and Dovani where Beiteynu has maintained increasingly strong relations with Kundrati (and now Luthori) and Lourenne and Dankuk accordingly, closing in now on 100 years of diplomacy, foreign affairs in Seleya have been scattered, seemingly without a long-term strategy, despite the Medinat Department's extended efforts to solidify a diplomatic network even as back as 5301 when Yishelem entered into discussions with Eroncourt on exactly the same topic (which later became one of the most impactful alliances in the world).

Whereas Dorvish and Trigunian relations are widely considered one of the most complex situations by the Medinat Department mostly thanks to the Olami Trade Association's lobbying on maintaining a good standing as to not implode the notable commercial avenues with either, foreign affairs in Majatra represent an oxymoron in Beiteynuese diplomacy; simply put, our country disregarded its own continent for the better part of 100 years - excluding its key alliance with Istalia back in 5288 - that is, until it led the reinvigoration of the MSO (now MSCO) in 5301 and transformed the continent from 5321 and onwards.

A move that made Beiteynu the uncontested leader, finally realising Yishelem's strategy of ensuring deterrents in Beiteynu's backyard, with the Migrant's Pass, the Jelbek Peninsula and the Majatran Sea notwithstanding. However, things have become more complicated since 5325 and especially in 5366 when Cildanian relations fell off a cliff effectively placing the island country in the pits of isolationism in the region and, of course, the infamous cut off of channels with Vanuku later that year, marking the beginning of what most now refer to as the Majatran Cold War; a simmering pot of a blunder of geopolitics in the continent.

Back to Seleya, it has been hard and even impossible to find a suitable partner (outside Lourenne). The complete collapse of relations with Rildanor - the first country to enter the Reshimat Hara (Luthorian: Yeudi Shitlist) - in 5292 and the addition of Valruzia to the same list almost 100 years later once again had killed momentum in firmly establishing relations with Seleyan countries. Mind you, shipping companies continue to remain active in Valruzia, which now falls under the same category of complexity with Trigunia, recognising the difficulty in influencing Beiteynuese shipping to go hand-in-hand with our foreign policy. The appointment of one of the industry's most powerful men to the position of Ramatkal [Benjamin Benowitz] offers a testament to shipping have its own, independent beating heart. By far, the one country that has shown promise in relations, is Tukarali, which the Olami Trade Association has scheduled a visit to.

Which brings us back in full circle into the importance of the ongoing discussions with Kalistan; a groundbreaking, stable and potentially suitable partner in their non-alignment policy in global affairs may help Beiteynu elevate its game of facilitation in the world and ensure the safety and prosperity of Yeudis and Yeudi entrepreneurs in Seleya for the long-term. A deterring relationship built on an equal footing of understanding.

The Medinat Department has confirmed that a draft of the Beiteynuese - Kalistani Partnership Agreement has been forward to the Government of Kalistan.

Digitali Nimshal launches portal for cities with Medinat Harehev
December 5377

Image

Himmelshtern, Beiteynu - The Beiteynuese Government's famous digital transformation arm joined forces with the Medinat Harehev, the country's go-to organisation on tourism, urban planning and geological affairs, to extend the government's portal with a new section displaying the Cities of Beiteynu. The Medinat Harehev has done extensive work since 5287 when it was part of the Ministry of Education & Culture on modernising the tools and services for Beiteynuese citizens, businesses and tourists alike in accessing relevant information. Both entities have worked extensively with software companies over the course of the last few decades to create maps, improve navigation and outline geographical details to a greater degree.

The new portal offers information on great urban centers, including but not limited to data on the most important economic and military divisions of each city.

DI's extension of the portal was mapped on top of the "Life in Beiteynu" initiative launched in 5373.

Ramatkal bites back at financial inquiries by the IRS
December 5377

- Medinat Department pressures MOIA to conclude investigation into the TRA's misconducts in Cildania, citing "no merit" to the allegations

Image

Yishelem, Beiteynu - Benjamin Benowitz, arguably the wealthiest individual in Beiteynu and current Ramatkal to the Rosh HaMemshala, has broken his silence on the IRS's controversial review on the financials of government officials last year by "slapping" Nathaniel Aristocrat-Goldbloom, the Minister of Finance, for enabling Beiteynuese institutions to "chase their own". The Ramatkal claimed that it should not be the business of the Beiteynuese Government to waste tax money on "pointless" investigations, when it should be focused on directing its attention to applying a fairer tax code and ensuring policy across the spectrum. The reference was of course to his party's tantamount opposition to the "borderline socialist" tax code introduced by previous administrations, which saw the wealthiest bracket of our country suffer a historic blow, unprecedented in recent Beiteynuese history even before 5199.

Insofar as the IRS's inquiry is concerned, Mr. Benowitz declined to comment, with his lawyers arguing that there's no legal precedent, nor a legislative standpoint, in being required to provide any information whatsoever on the details of the Ramatkal's vast financial assets abroad, which are properly declared.

Sources at the Office of the Ramatkal have speculated that the Ramatkal will be requesting the resignation of the MOFIN; otherwise the HA will not condone to participating in a joint government coalition with the BPA and MH.

Digitali Nimshal helps upgrade Lourennais government portal
January 5378

Image

Eroncourt, Lourenne - In what is presumed to be announced as a robust digital transformation project by the Lourennais Government, the Digitali Nimshal confirmed that it has began working with Eroncourt towards the upgrade of the government portal's infrastructure and sitemap. Having concluded the analysis stage of the project since 5375, the Beiteynuese organisation has surmised that a similar approach to gov.bei would be warranted as "favourable" in seeing the results of elevating ease of access to state information in Beiteynu under a highly successful 150-year digital transformation program.

Similarly dubbed Life in Lourenne, the Digitali Nimshal will continue developing various parts of the portal to provide a "basic framework or sitemap". Both the Lourennais and Beiteynuese Governments have contracted key players from the information technology industry in Beiteynu. The project is expected to last more than a decade, with various stages and iterations focused on upgrading the infrastructure on a CRM-centric (Citizen Relationship Management) framework in order to offer greater ease of access, as well as maintainability by the Lourennais Government itself.

The first stage will focus on developing so called "taxonomies" in user flows and data structures under the portal's new life section.

Sato and Kadenite launch first reconnaissance satellite
May 5378

- Medinat Department claims there was no "animosity" with Kazulia, officials unsure on how to proceed in communications with Kazulian Government
- Nisrad reviews proposal by Haldor on joint security operations in the Migrant's Pass but remains skeptical of excluding the MSCO from command

Image

Amshinov, Beiteynu - Decades in planning, 4 years in testing, more than a dozen failed attempts and 2B LOD later, the Beiteynuese aerospace manufacturer from the Equifund managed last night to successfully launch the Shavit rocket and place Kadenite's Ofeq reconnaissance satellite in orbit. Contracted by the MOD's Department of Defense, the program was set to build momentum for the Beiteynuese defence industry to join forces with software developers in order to provide the capability for Beiteynu and the Beiteynuese Government to develop and maintain space hardware specifically geared at launching satellites.

The Shavit rocket first tested in 5374, is a small lift launch vehicle specifically designed to carry small payloads such as Kadenite's Ofeq reconnaissance satellite and various small-scale space hardware components such as toolkits, replenishments and parts. The destruction of one of Sato's complexes in southeast Amshinov the following year has set the company back significantly in terms of production-readiness; which would in turn require the injection of further funds and operational organisation by the Beiteynuese Government, should our country wish to establish a solid foothold in the development of space hardware.

Sato and Kadenite will sit down with the MOD - and hopefully other agencies - to develop a long-term plan towards that end, considering how the Beiteynuese Government's interest in upping its game in reconnaissance and intelligence outside the spectrum of diplomacy still remains one of the major key points.

BREAKING NEWS
Benowitz refuses compromises: new Aristocrat-Goldbloom admin incoming
The Ramatkal, Benjamin Benowitz, reportedly asked to remain Ramatkal 'or bust', while debating the formation of the new Administration.

in other news:
- Sohnout Hasaet prepares to hand-in informations regarding Kadiyot's death to Beiteynuese Police 'next month', says spokesperson.
- Aristocrat-Goldbloom family: a love story with Beiteynu's best interests in mind.
- Beiteynuese consumption of pop-corn spiked during Government's formation negotiations.

YISHELEM, ENDILD - The Sholemberg Post can report that Rosh Ha'Memshala Sharon Aristocrat-Goldbloom has presented to the Knesset her new Administration, after six long and tense months of negotiations. In December, the Beiteynuese voted overwhelmigly to elect Ms. Aristocrat-Goldbloom, daugther of former PM Elias and member of the Aristocrat family by marriage, but voters also punished her party, the MH, who although remained big enough to deny both BPA and HA an absolute majority.

At first, it seemed that a new BPA-HA-MH grand coalition cabinet could be reformed under the leadership of Sharon, but that negotiations died eventually as the incumbent Ramatkal, Benjamin Benowitz, refused to give up his post as Chief of Staff, even though he was presented with the opportunity to claim any Ministry he liked, barred the MOFIN, reserved to Nathaniel Aristocrat-Goldbloom, our new First Gentleman.
And it appears it is Nathaniel the cause Benjamin was dissatisfied with the Administration. Benowitz reportedly asked to remove Mr. Aristocrat-Goldbloom from the MOFIN, as his leadership in the Ministry unleashed a serie of IRS investigations on all the top Beiteynuese politicians, eventually revealing that Benowitz is reportedly using a loophole to avoid full taxation. Ms. Sharon Aristocrat-Goldbloom was angered at the request, given the familiar bond she has with the MOFIN, her husband.

Now, it's clear that BPA-MH, a center-left coalition, will form the next Administration alone, without pro-business and anti-environmentalist HA, which will return to the opposition after some years, bringing with itself their wealthy base, made up of businesspeople, bankers, rich retirees and swimming pools enjoyers.
