‘’Faction’’ leaders meeting the King?
15 november 5407
Haldor, Dorvik – The Royal Palace in Haldor has broken it seems broken its silence and has send a letter, which this newspaper has gotten its hands on from a source we will not disclose to all faction leaders in the Staatsrat.
Sometime after the elections, advisors from various ranks of the nobility and the armed forced were seen entering and leaving the Palace. From inside sources it has come to our attention that the King has had various meetings on the situation at hand. However, the King has never once spoken on the situation, from leeks it also seems the King only listened and rarely gave his opinion, only asking questions in relations to the views of the advisors on the current situation. A quite normal occurance in a normal situation, however we live as we all know in uncertain times. Yet, after these meetings nothing happened, not even when the yet-unrecognised new cabinet was proposed to the Staatsrat.
However after the passing of the new cabinet proposed to the Staatsrat, the King spoke with high level civil servants from each ministry. Seemingly our King wished to be informed as the media spotting them arriving. From Palace sources the King wishes to govern in a good way and be totally informed, saying that without ministers and a Chancellor to inform him he asked the civil service to inform him directly. The meetings a week after the formation of the supposed new cabinet, starting the sending of the letters directly afterwards. In the letters – which we obtained from a source we will not disclose – the King requests an audience with as the Palace calls it ‘’Esteemed and leading members of the Staatsrat’’ to discuss their views on the stability of the Kingdom. The letter was very vague and not clear. The letter also avoids any mention of ‘’factions’’ or ‘’parties’’. From what we gathered all high ranking faction members were invited, however none of the faction members currently seated in the unrecognised cabinet were invited to come to the Palace.
Political commentators and royal watchers have stated that it is clear that the King intends to address the current situation in the parliament, a retired employee and long time advisor to the court stated that he thought the King’s concerns where:
I imagine His greatest concern is the divisiveness of the alliances within the Staatsrat, rather than fostering unity, they tend to be more divisive, perpetuating an environment where collaboration is often sacrificed for the sake of factional interests.
This evening various leaders of the parties have been seen departing for the Royal Palace, with the leader of the PfS already seen entering the Palace, being the first to have a meeting with the King and his Royal Council.
