PM Yoffey on Ikradon
The Beiteynuese Head of Government expressed herself over the Ikradonian Civil War.

Rosh Ha'memshala of the Moledet Medinat of Beiteynu, Paz Yoffey

YISHELEM, ENDILD - The Prime Minister of the Homeland State of Beiteynu, Ms. Paz Yoffey, was reached out by a reporter of the Sholemberg Post while she was holding a speech (pictured) at the University of Yishelem, talking about the importance of academic education in modern-day Beiteynu and at the end of her speech, PM Yoffey took some questions, and one from our reporter, who asked the Prime Minister her opinion over the conflict in Ikradon and on the recent developments around it.

Thank you for this question, we have also some international relations students here, so I think it is a perfect question! Jokes apart, Terra must know that a Yoffey Administration will always stand by the side of Beiteynu's allies, like my predecessors, and that was proven by the actions of my predecessors...never broke our deals and alliances. [...] When it comes to Ikradon, we're all saddened by the violence that is going on, and as useless as it might seem, I call upon the conflicting parties to cease the fightings and start serious negotiations, I would like to plaude Ikradon's neighbors for assisting, who more, who less, with the tragic humanitarian situation.
I also saw that one of our closest allies decided to start what the I.R. students here would define an 'invasion', even if limited and with an humanitatrian scope. Well, I won't condemn that action, because I trust Fort William with the aim they have determined, but in this case, I do not think that was the best decision to take - they could've decided to invite other Artanian countries in that operation or they could've involved the WC Security Council, the best decisions in Foreign Policy are those not taken unilaterally. That being said, everyone in the Beiteynuese Government hopes that this conflict will be over as soon as possible. Thanks for listening.

The Yishelem Post
Young King to serve in the navy
September 5409

Image

Himmelshtern, Beiteynu - The Yeudi Monarch Elias Ishmael IV will be serving with the Beiteynuese Naval Command, considering how Deputy Ramatkal Nefariouiem Aristocrat had left military service as an "optional" choice for members of the House of Elior, a rather "commoner" royal line according to most standards. In completing the Naval Academy of Himmelshtern he is expected to graduate with the rank of Lieutenant Commander - under special privileges - and commissioned aboard the Horizon class BEINS Sheket destroyer of the notorious 4th Flotilla of the Yeudi Fleet stationed in the North Bank.

With the flotilla's primary mandate of operations in the Migrant's Pass, concerns have risen with the King's commission amidst rising tensions with Dorvik - one of the few countries that chose not to attend the historic coronation; a fact that was amiss with Yishelem.

Yeudi Religious Community joins hands with Ministry of Justice to rehabilitate prisoners
November 5409 - The Yeudi religious community has announced a comprehensive rehabilitation program for the country's prison system.
Also published on The Terran Times and distributed internationally

Yishelem, Beiteynu - A collaborative initiative by the Yeudi religious community and the Ministry of Justice was launched this morning which will implement a "unique" rehabilitation program within the country's prison system. Basically, the program will place Yeudi scholars, Rabbi interns and volunteers at the frontline, where they are tasked to offer guidance and counseling to inmates. The program will include other range of activities such as education and vocational training. Spiritual guidance will also be offered to prisoners, but only to those who request it.

The esteemed Rabbinate of Bira whilst endorsing the initiative stated:
Our holy Katub teaches us that Elyon's light is for everyone, no matter how bad things get. This program embodies that belief by helping and forgiving people who have done wrong.

The initiative was praised by the liberal wing of Yeudism, aka the Reform, hailing the Rabbinate's endorsement as "progressive". On the other hand, the conservative wing, aka the Orthodox expressed "caution", with one prominent Orthodox-Yeudi figure stating that, "Rehabilitation is indeed essential, but using unconventional methods in prisons can challenge the core principles of our religion [Yeudism]."

The Ministry of Justice led by Minister Farid Said commented:
I would like to thank the YeudI religious community for stepping up to this initiative. This program aligns perfectly with the Ministry and the Administration's commitment in restorative justice. The opportunity for inmates to rebuild their lives will definitely bring positive change and reduce the recidivism rates.

The program also raised some eyebrows, as the Minister for Justice belongs to the Beiteynuese People’s Alliance, the same party (which still embrace secularism) proposed to remove Yeudism as the state religion in 5283. The bill of course never passed the Knesset as it was opposed by the then ruling Hevrat Hashmal.

Inside the Yeudism-led prison rehabilitation program - a month later
December 5409 - As the New Year approaches, Radio Beiteynu dives deep into the initiative's progress and gauge early reactions from both inmates and the wider community.
Also published on The Terran Times and distributed internationally

Image
The walls of the Yishelem Prison (pictured), the prison is chosen as one of the site for the rehabilitation program. Picture: Supplied.

Yishelem, Beiteynu - A month after the announcement of the Yeudism-led prison rehabilitation program, Radio Beiteynu was allowed access by the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) to the Yishelem Prison to basically report on the progress of the rehabilitation program, and interview participants of the programs as well as inmates.

Despite official approval from the MOJ , we had to go through rigorous checks upon our arrival at around 1:02pm. We met and interviewed a seasoned Yeudi Scholar Rabbi Cohen who is also the program coordinator at the Prison. He painted a vivid picture of the program's daily life to us.
...So we begin with morning prayers, open to all inmates regardless of their faith. Basically, the focus is on the mind and inner peace, which allows for reflection and introspection.

According to Rabbi Cohen, small group sessions are led by Rabbi interns and volunteers. The sessions are mainly on practical life skills like budgeting and conflict resolution, with teachings from the Katub on forgiveness and redemption. Mr. Cohen emphasized that they are not there to "preach or convert", but just to offer guidance and support, with the main goal of rehabilitation.

Inmates share their experiences:
As we went deep into the prison walls, we encountered firsthand testimonies about the impact of the program. We met inmate Sarah, a young woman serving a sentence for drug possession. Here is what she said:
I thought prison was the end for me...and then [rehabilitation program] this came. The Rabbi listens to me all the time...no judgements! Their life lessons...very helpful especially on self forgiveness. Really helped with my guilt you know...

And then we met David, an older inmate convicted of fraud, who echoed the same sentiments:
As you know, they [Yeudi scholars] teach us skills like carpentery and...gardening and other skills. Very helpful skills when I get out...

Community reactions:
Nothing changed since the announcement. Let the internet speaks for itself. Take a look at this thread:
Posted by @FreeBeit: So, the Yeudis are going into prisons now? What's next huh? This feels like a publicity stunt from both the BPA led Ministry and the Rabbinate. They had no trouble throwing Yeudism under the bus back in 5283, remember? And now they're all best friends for some photo ops with Rabbi interns? Makes me sick.

Posted by @Hope: seriously @FreeBeit?? This is a good thing! People inside deserve a chance to turn their lives around.

Posted by @Sniper: @Hope, Have you seen the details of the program? Who gets to decide who needs "spiritual guidance"? What about inmates who don't subscribe to Yeudism? And what about the practical side? Are Yeudi scholars going to teach auto mechanics or coding? I'm all for giving people a second chance, but this program needs more than just good intentions.

In response to the above, the Ministry of Justice issued a very short statement stating that it will be monitoring the program's progress and making adjustments as needed.

The Yishelem Post
Navy restructures under mandate of Shahar Fleets with 4th CSG
January 5410

Image

Himmelshtern, Beiteynu - It seems the Kohav and the Ministry of Defence are keen to continue investing billions and billions into the Beiteynuese navy - favourably disregarding all other divisions of the military - in a race to secure global dominance when it comes to naval operations. Tactically, the navy's 3 carrier fleets have thus far been used only twice: the tensions with Kafuristan and the conflict in Badara. Other than that, the Queen Isabelle class of Lourennais origin aircraft carriers have only been leveraged as a muscle of precarious Yeudish influence, bordering on gunboat diplomacy.

It's never gunboat, per se; it's as if they're used by the military to incite strategic reactions and counter-moves, instead.

The latest announcement from the Beiteynuese Naval Command's headquarters in the northwest seems to fall exactly under that strategy. The Naval Chief announced the completion of the Tafsik (Deterring) Carrier Strike Group upon the successful commission of 13.5B LOD worth of warships, including the BEINS Tafsik aircraft carrier by world-renowned manufacturer Canrille Defense Enterprise; the CSG is set to include an additional +50 Kfir jet fighters, amounting to a total of more than 200 multipurpose aircrafts aboard the navy's now 4 piece set of fancy naval toys.

A force that can level an entire country; but yet again, never used to attack anything.

The announcement was complimented by the beginning of a restructure of the Beiteynuese navy's aircraft carrier formations - known as Carrier Strike Groups or CSGs - into a new set dubbed the Shahar (Dawn) Fleets. According to the statement issued by the Kohav, Sahar Fleets will operate under a mandate of tactical response and deployment across Terra, for defensive and deterring purposes. When banded together, the formation will be referenced as Esh (Fire) Carrier Battle Group, or simply "Esh". Just like Zaar Fleets, these will fall under the command of host nations and organisations when deployed abroad.

Surprisingly, the new carrier fleet originally set to operate in Kundrati, was designated for the Migrant's Pass, with Head of the Kohav Kavin Mahorit confirming earlier this afternoon that the pressure coming in from Fort William and Haldor had reached a level that would most likely jeopardise relations with Artania.

The restructuring is expected to take place over the course of the next 2 years.

Ministry of Justice expands rehabilitation program, invites inter-faith collaboration
March 5410 - The Ministry of Justice will officially adopt a multi-faith approach in rehabilitating prisoners with the creation of a dedicated department.
Also published on The Terran Times and distributed internationally

Yishelem, Beiteynu - The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) in a press conference today, announced that they will officially adopt the Yeudism-led rehabilitation program as a national policy. It was announced by the Minister of Justice Farid Said, alongside the inaugural Director of the newly established Department of Inter-Faith Affairs. This is in response to results stemming from the program introduced in November of last year which was deemed "positive".

According to the MOJ, the Department of Inter-Faith Affairs which is under the purview of the Ministry will be tasked in facilitating partnerships with all religious communities in conducting rehabilitation programs. This obviously include the Ahmadi and Hosian religious communities. The inaugural Director, who is none other than Rabbi Cohen, the program's coordinator at Yishelem Prison stated:
The Department's main objective is to work hand-in-hand with various faith communities to develop and implement tailored programs that cater to the diverse needs and beliefs of our incarcerated population.

Minister for Justice Said gave credit to the Yeudi community adding "We at the Ministry commend the Yeudi community for pioneering this initiative and recognizing the role multiple faith can play in reforming lives of our inmates."

The announcement has been welcomed by the Ahmadi and Hosian religious communities. However, some concerns remain, mostly regarding the implementation of the program. The MOJ commented, "As previously stated by the Director, the Department will strictly abide by the principle of inclusivity and will continue to make improvements based on feedbacks and evidence."

The Yishelem Post
Navy recalls CSG from Kundrati; retasked to Migrant's Pass
May 5410

- Medinat Department will not recall Zaar Fleet from Kundrati; "Artania has a history of bullying Kasaema"

Himmelshtern, Beiteynu - The collective pressure of Artanian leaders, an effort that seems to be spearheaded by Fort William, has apparently reached a level of significant influence in swaying Yishelem to change its course on the deployment of the Reshout CSG in Kundrati. The recall of the carrier fleet comes shortly after the announcement that the previous plans of a joint base in north Kundrati were scrambled, showcasing Kasaema's readiness in "playing the big game".

Although having declined to directly comment, the Medinat Department has hinted at Haldor renegotiating its position in Artanian affairs, with Fort William having cited itself that it will pursue "Artanian unity", especially on matters of security and defence - similarly to the pivotal MSCO in Majatra.

Thus, the Reshout CSG has already been recalled and will return to its home post in the Migrant's Pass, under the new formation of Shahar Fleets.

Whether Yishelem's plans included this outcome or not is unclear; however, it seems that Artania is indeed on track for newfound unity. Kavin Mahorit of the Kohav did state that Beiteynu will not be backing down on the Migrant's Pass until such time that Artania understands that security is a "supranational matter".

The Yishelem Post
"Get out"; Yishelem takes command of Migrant's Pass
June 5410

Himmelshtern, Beiteynu - Following the redirection of the Reshout CSG from Etxea (Kundrati) to the Migrant's Pass last month, the Kohav has moved forward with the tactical deployment of further naval forces in the region; evidently in an effort to drive "rogue Artanian states" away.

Kavin Mahorit of the Kohav (Military Command) made the following joint statement with the Naval Chief of the Beiteynuese Naval Command:

The stability of the Migrant's Pass has insofar been jeopardised by Artanian states acting as they see fit, disrespecting not only Beiteynu's proven commitment to the region's safety but the MSCO's mandate of collaborative security and defence.

It's high time Artanian leaders understand that they're severely lagging behind Majatra in these matters and there's no other way around it.

We will be the first to back down; only when Artania comes back to the table as an equally led continent and no hegemonic behaviours when it comes to matters of collective defence and security.

When and if that happens, and the Artanians all decide to work together with the MSCO, only then will we listen about "Artanian unity".

Until then, get out.

The naval forces deployed in the Migrant's Pass are currently consisted of the Tafsik and Reshout Carrier Strike Groups, the Yeudi Fleet's 4th flotilla of Horizon-class destroyers (with King Elias Ishmael IV aboard one of them as Lieutenant Commander), the Second Royal Fleet of Lourenne stationed in Himmelshtern but retasked to join the formation and an unconfirmed number of nuclear powered submarines from the Hofesh Fleet in the southwest, amounting to more than 35 warships and 100 jet fighters; a force that will "hopefully deter any rogue Artanian states", the Naval Chief stated.

Included in the force is, of course, the CMRF's MP-NG (Migrant's Pass Naval Group) which includes but is not limited to Deltarian warships; the force has however taken a secondary stage to that of the Beiteynuese command, as Yishelem remains adamant to brokering an agreement heavily hinted in the leaked JAMS draft, which will see a cross-continent framework pave the way between the MSCO and an Artanian supranational organisation collaborating equally.

Beiteynu's reconnaissance satellite agency, the Lavian, has confirmed that it will be working with the Lourennais O3 in tasking significant resources from the Allink - used actively by the MSCO in the Badaran Civil War - to monitor any counter-intelligence movements in the region, presumably meaning Dorvish naval forces.

The Beiteynuese Naval Command has barred Luthorian naval forces stationed in the North Bank from deploying to the Migrant's Pass and engaging in patrols and other military operations in the region such as anti-piracy and reconnaissance.
