SIDONIA, SEVESCIA - (TBC) The following statement was released from the Charter Party Headquarters in Sevescia.

"After the DCD has continued to to try to corrupt our nation, to break the republic and threatened our Party personnally we have decided to resign from the national cabinet. They have proposed bills recently they were diffenatly not proposed with children in mind, giving the national government virtually no power. Is this who we want running our country, men and women who have no care for what children see? This has gone on for too long and after they threatened our Party, we have made a political decision to stray away from any connection with the DCD and resigned all positions from cabinet and we will be seeking the chair of president and we hope that in the coming year Telamonians will see their corrupt views and will vote Charterarian, and a vote Chartertarian is a vote Telamonian, ONWARD TELAMON!"

DCD Celebrates

DCD Wins Parliamentary Elections, Government Coalition Gains Vote of Confidence

Democratic Capitalist Delegation Chairman Michael Garrish fired back this week at a second wave of loaded criticisms and accusations made by the Charter Party leading up to the elections. In a press conference called at DCD Headquarters in Telapolis, Garrish asserted in his opening remarks,

The DCD did not feel the need to respond to the continuation of the groundless accusations being made by the Charter Party at the time they were made, and would prefer to now speak out in the wake of the election. The results have clearly demonstrated that the people of Telamon are not concerned with the slanderous claims being made by the Charter Party, and have kept faith in the DCD, which has a proven 277 year track record of outstanding service to this nation and its people. It is also worth noting that the Charter Party, which has been making numerous unsubstantiated claims about the corruption of the DCD, votes alongside our party on nearly 70% of all legislation considered in Parliament; that's more than any other party in this nation. If the Charter Party is so convinced that our party is corrupt, perhaps they would benefit from a reexamination of their own philosophies.

Garrish's statement was backed by the election results, which yielded an increase in seats for his party, while the Charter Party's seat share declined, making them the only party in the elections to suffer such an outcome. Some political analysts believe that the election also served as a vote of confidence in the current government coalition, as all parties currently seated in the cabinet benefited from a seat increase. Others claim it was additionally a showing of voter disapproval over late term cabinet resignations from the Charter Party and a general unwillingness to cooperate constructively with other parties. Adding further to the pile of evidence suggesting genuine voter disapproval of Charter Party decorum was the state by state breakdown of the election. The Charter Party was the only seated party in Parliament to not win any states. Also, adding insult to injury for the Charter Party, they finished dead last amongst Parliament's seated parties in nearly every state. The only exception to this fact was the state of Ferene, where they garnered more votes than only the Revolutionary Congress, and did so by a margin of less than 1%.

The state by state breakdown illustrates the crushing defeat suffered by the Charter Party in September's elections

Top DCD official Jennifer Brackett also weighed in on the election results in a press release earlier this week which stated,

The people of Telamon are clearly fed up with the lies being spread by certain individuals within the Charter Party. The DCD is no longer obligated to respond to any further falsehoods that said individuals should choose to perpetuate, because this nation just told us loud and clear that they aren't going to listen to that kind of nonsense. Former President Mackesy should adjust to the fact that he's a FORMER President for a reason: the people don't want a lying instigator as a President, and that's most likely why he lost in 2826. In fact, given the drastically different results of an election that happened only a year later, it's reasonable to assume that the only reason he won in 2825 was because the people did not have their DCD candidate to vote for, who they truly wanted as their President. President Wellington is sure to appease the voice of the people by insuring that the Charter Party will not have the opportunity to participate in the proceedings of the executive branch of this government.

Brackett's attack on the Charter Party's Presidential ambitions was not made without merit; Jason Kennedy, the Charter Party's candidate in September's elections, finished third out of three candidates in the first round, gaining barely 20% of the vote. Nigel Wellington, by comparison reached nearly 50% in the first round, gained the endorsement of the Jewish Defense League, and won the run off election with a convincing 60% of the vote. President Wellington had only this to say in his acceptance speech:

The people of Telamon have reaffirmed their faith in cooperation, bipartisan action, and constructive dialogue by re-electing me as their President, and I will not draw any party into our new government which has not proven its dedication to those exact values. Your trust is a most sacred one, and you will not be disappointed that you have left it with me. This Parliamentary session will be one of great progress, as I will continue to push further cooperation with our neighbor states, and further cooperation within our Parliament. Let it be known that the majority of the parties in our Parliament are equally dedicated to this constructive cooperation, both domestically and abroad, so any parties which aim to disrupt our work on behalf of the people through belligerence, intolerance, or partisanship, will be left behind as we continue this most important work. Onward towards a safer, more prosperous future, and Onward Telamon!

The Charter Party could not be reached for comment on this story, but rumors are swirling that former President Mackesy may soon release a statement in response to the latest press conferences and press releases to come out of Telapolis.

With that says the Charter party would like to annouce we will not particpate in publicly stating and corrupt facts about the DCD as we fill it has huurt our image as a true Party of the People so we will continue to improve the Telamonian way of life. Federalist Party leaders plan aggressive election bids.

Federalist Party leader John Hamilton of Sevescia reportedly has managed to field Federalist candidates in all 501 districts of the Republic in these coming elections, this coming after a poor debut election for the new political party. Party leader Hamilton, however, believe that "Federalist ideals will grow on our nation as a viable alternative to often regulatory and sometimes big government policies of the Telamon National Party, Government of Greater Likatonia, Conservative Ordo Malleus and the Telamon Liberal Party."

One has to wonder whether all this work will pay off for John Hamilton. Four years into managing a party that had a little under 250,000 votes in the last election. With the next elections coming up in a little under three years, Hamilton should be extremely proud to already have candidates in all 501 Parliament districts. The quality of the candidates, however, might be an issue for the Federalists. Going up against established parties, incumbent MPs have a distinct advantage over new-comers. They have party and name recognition, established grassroots support, volunteer networks, trusted campaign staff, and most importantly, the best fundraisers around. How can the Federalist Party expect to compete with the likes of Sotear Chann and the Libertarians or Peter Williams and the Telamon Liberals? The Federalist also have a problem with platform. While the Federalist Party reports an alliance with the Libertarians and the Telamon Liberals, some of the policies that Federalists identify as their platform can be construed as conservative, which might go either way as an impact on elections. The Liberal left could be alienated with the potential conservative cooperation with the Federalist Party from the Telamon Liberals and left-Libertarians that reside in the Free Citizens Coalition of Telamon (FCCT) or the conservative cooperation could bring more independents into the picture. This is all highly hypothetical, we have yet to see if the Federalists can even win a seat in Parliament!

I asked John Hamilton (F-Sevescia) if he would tap his candidate out in a competitive race between a Libertarian candidate and a Likatonian candidate. He said "Of course. I'm in an alliance with these parties, in the FCCT, we're striving for the same ideals, the same direction for the Republic of Telamon. I would tap out a Federalist candidate for a Liberatarian candidate." He expressed trust in the FCCT and it's direction for the nation. "If the FCCT can win Parliament in three years, I feel a golden age coming for the Republic in the near future. Telamon is truly an honorable and historic society."

Another issue on many minds today is the continued insurgency of the Government of Greater Likatonia in the Parliament. The Ascendant Union of Greater Likatonian government has denied contact with these rebels, and insists that they are not involved in the age old battle for the State of Migadon. Federalist Chairman John Hamilton was in contact with the Greater Likatonia President Rupert Bentley earlier today. "The President has asked the government of Telamon to stop military occupancy of Northern Hukatai, a region very close to Migadon. He has been very unwilling to help in our fight against the terrorism of the Government of Greater Likatonia. The Northern Hukatai region has been a breeding ground for Likatonian terrorists that smuggle bombs and illegal weaponry into our home state of Migadon. I personally am advocating military action against these terrorist rebels."

The Government of Greater Likatonia, an insurgent political movement that manages to field actual candidates in elections for Parliament, has remained a political party in Telamon for almost 40 years, somehow managing to have enough stability to retain over 100 seats in Parliament. Likatonia advocates the destruction of Telamon and the return of Northern Hukatai to Likatonian control. Government officials have remained apathetic in regards to the foreign government. Hamilton, however, has strong opinions on the matter. "We cannot retain our sovereignty while a foreign government resides in our Parliament. We cannot allow another country to command our military and reform our economy. We have to remain a sovereign country and deport these Likatonian terrorists."

External Funding Bill comes into force

With the passing of the External Funding Bill Means that the Government of Greater Likatonia Bill passed by the Likatonian Parliament, is now illegal under Telamonese law.

The Telamon National Party leader, Michael Dawson welcomed the move saying "This is one step to finally defeating this wing of the terrorist government of Likatonia within Telamon, this whole situation is based upon nothing more than an expansionist agenda, nothing to do with re-unification. Migadon was never, and never will be Likatonian."

Foreign Affairs Minister, George Francis said that "The Likatonian Government has been notified and must therefore stop funding the GGL in Telamon, or further action may be taken."

Touch: We still get money

Image
Hashish Touch, the Deputy Governor of the Likatonian Region of Northern Hukatai

Hashish Touch, the Deputy Governor of the Likatonian Region of Northern Hukatai, announced on a press conference that the Government of Greater Likatonia in the Likatonian Province of Telamon is still being funded. "Not by the ways that were outlawed though, we still get our piece of the Likatonization cause, as we call it. There are people in the nation which make the money available to us. And, another word, the Telamon National Party may put their legislation in their toilet, finish the job, and flush the water."

Victory

The Results of the elections showed good results for the Telamon National Party, achieving their best ever result with 40% of the vote and 210 seats. "This is a great day for Telamon and a great day for the party" said President Joe Turner.

Migadon Wipeout

The party were very quick to point out the result in Migadon. Where the GGL only achieves 15% of the vote. "The people of Migadon overwhelmingly reject the GGL's vile policy" said new MP for Migadon, John Michaels. "And they show their support for Telamon and have not been fooled by GGL propaganda claiming they are actually Likatonian"

Party Chairman Michael Dawson, who personally formulated the Treason Bill, currently being voted on said "This is the next step towards the clampdown of these Terrorists, and the Parliament, after passing this bill, will issue an arrest for the leadership of the party, including spokespersons." He later said "There will be further bills for the clampdown of the GGL and the newly emerged CLL"

Northern Hukatai Now Under Its Own Control

With the Republic of Telamon Passing the 'Official Recognition of the Temporary Northern Hukatai Institutions' [http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=292236] and Likatonia passing 'The Administrative Proposals' [http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=289410], Northern Hukatai, formerly known as Migadon, has its own temporary institutions which are under control of neither Government, but by the Governor and Deputy Governor. This is one of the first steps in creating a Greater Likatonia.

Loonhead Candidates for President

Migadon Shepherd Gozo Ffyrdin was in the hot sun too long, and his mind seems gone. He thinks to have seen "The Great Worm of the Pits" (as he can be heard telling you over a pint of beer in local inns), and be the blessed Archpope and Prophet Supreme of this monstrosity.

Local rumour has it, that Mr Ffyrdin is going to run for president in the next elections; no doubt, there will be many votes - Mr Ffyrdin has a huge family, and his 45 brothers, sister, cousins and children will be more than enogh for him to win the local mandate.

When we asked him to tell us about his private life, he got angry and told us to "bugger off and begone, ye vicious folks!" and hugged some of his sheep.
