Human rights groups and foreign embassies have widely criticised the Tukarali government, accusing it of institutional racism and initiating a genocide. However the Minister of Justice Vasco Moniz has told critics;

those who oppose the Tukarali government measures are wilful morons who refuse to do anything about what they can see with their own eyes. The Mbanda cult empowers Preto community to fixate on drugs and criminality. This animalistic gangs facilitate the movement of drugs from Aldegar to northern Seleya. This government will stop this black crime for good.

Conclusion of the Trans-Seleyan Railway Expansion Project

March 5483

Image

Today marks a historic milestone for Tukarali, as the Trans-Seleyan Railway expansion project has been successfully completed, connecting various regions of the country and facilitating the transportation of goods and people across the nation.

The project, which began seven years ago, aimed to extend the existing railway network to cover previously inaccessible areas and improve connections between Tukarali's cities and villages. With significant investments in infrastructure, technology, and workforce, the railway expansion was one of the country's largest development undertakings.

The new railway network will not only provide a more efficient and accessible means of transportation for Tukarali's citizens but also open up new economic opportunities for previously isolated regions. With the ability to transport goods more quickly and efficiently, it is expected that trade and regional development will thrive in areas served by the new railway line.

President of the People's Republic of Tukarali, António Salazar, expressed his satisfaction with the project's completion, describing it as a significant step for Tukarali's progress and prosperity.

"This expansion of the Trans-Seleyan Railway is a testament to Tukarali's commitment to development and connectivity," President Salazar stated. "I am confident that this new infrastructure will not only benefit our economy but also strengthen the bonds between our communities and drive growth across the country."

With the successful conclusion of the railway expansion project, Tukarali is now poised for a future of sustainable growth and prosperity for all its citizens, the project is ready for the connection between Gaduridos and Aldegar, which will be very good for the economy of all countries.

António Salazar dies at the age of 82 and the government decrees five days of national mourning.

António Salazar 5410-5492

One of the last pictures taken days before Salazar's death

3rd January 5492

It was five minutes to nine in the morning when the President of the People's Republic breathed his last, surrounded by family and friends.
The President had been ill for several weeks, with heart problems, and doctors predicted that António Salazar would not have much longer to live.
In his last words, Salazar sighed,
‘In my heart, I carry the love for this great nation and the hope for a bright future for every citizen of Tukarali. May our achievements be remembered and the challenges we face strengthen us. May the flame of justice and solidarity continue to guide the path of our beloved country.’
After five minutes, Salazar closed his eyes for the last time.

António Salazar, a prominent figure in Tukarali's history, was born in 5410 in the São Miguel region. From an early age, he showed exceptional talent and tireless dedication to public service. After obtaining a degree in Economic, Financial and Regulatory Policy, he distinguished himself as an academic and intellectual leader, earning respect and admiration for his leadership skills.
In 5439, Salazar entered politics, becoming an influential member of the Left Patriotic Front. His meteoric rise within the party culminated in his election as President of the FPE in 5452, where he demonstrated an exceptional ability to unite divergent factions and forge consensus around crucial issues for the country.
In 5454, Salazar was elected as the first President of the new Tukara People's Republic, marking the beginning of an era of transformative change for Tukarali. During his seven presidential terms, which stretched from 5454 to 5492, Salazar implemented a series of far-reaching reforms aimed at promoting social equality, economic development and regional integration.
His first term in office, from 5454 to 5459, was characterised by the implementation of the new socialist regime, which sought to eradicate inequality and promote social justice throughout the nation. During this period, Salazar led comprehensive land reform initiatives, the nationalisation of key industries and the expansion of social welfare programmes, thus consolidating the foundations of a more equal and just society.
After a brief hiatus, Miguel Vargo's government fell and Salazar returned to the presidency in 5462 , leading Tukarali through a period of economic growth and diplomatic engagement. During his terms, he successfully negotiated important international treaties, including the Yingdala-Tukarali Fraternity Treaty in 5455 and the Ratification of the Seleyan Economic Community (SEC) Free Trade Agreement in 5492, thus strengthening Tukarali's relations with neighbouring nations and boosting economic development.
Throughout his life, Salazar was recognised for his unwavering commitment to the principles of socialism, his visionary leadership and his deep love for Tukarali and its people. His death on 3 January 5492, at the age of 82, left a void in the nation, but his legacy will endure as a source of inspiration and guidance for future generations of Tukarians, who will continue to fight for the realisation of the ideals to which Salazar dedicated his life.

After 35 years as President, António Salazar entered Tukarali's history as one of the longest-serving presidents.
