We will review this and the 48 hour comment period for the proposed Cultural Protocol update in Solentia is now open.

The 48 hrs having passed, with no objections, this is approved. Please put a bill with the new Protocol and leave it in debate as required by the rules.

Cultural protocol update for Aloria: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=707502

This is primarily minor and cosmetic changes compared to the current version. The main difference is the name of the Welsh, who are now called Cymerians (from the alternative name of the province of Crentol, Cymertraeth). Sildarian population was reduced on account of the difficulty of using Cornish, and in terms of religion the Abjurant population was reduced and the Alorian Horian Church was increased to account for the fact that Dundorfians in Aloria are religiously divided between the two main Churches. Amelioratism is now the dominant form of Abjurantism in Aloria, paralleling RL Switzerland on which Kurmal is based. Also the Abjurants in Aloria are defined as having their own Church instead of just being a full part of the Confessional Ameliorate Church of Dundorf.

As the 48h period has passed, just noting this as approved. You know what to do.

Cultural Protocol of Baeguk (Dankuk): http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=707635

Summary:
This update intends to change the commonly used name of Dankuk to Baeguk.

Other changes include substantial shifts in religious demographics.

Justification:

Change of Name
Since the in-game year 5300 I have sought to revive the name 'Baeguk' as a name for what has commonly been known as Dankuk since 3608. In doing so I have frequently applied the name in my RP, alongside co-players like Myung, for what has now exceeded a period of 250 in-game years with more than an estimated 110 forum posts on the Dankuk news thread. I understand that just 110 posts is paltry for some more established players, but at the same time I don't believe that it would be reasonable to deny the fact that the momentum and cultural shifts generated by this RP have been substantial for Baeguk - I would argue sufficiently so as to make a case for changing the nation's common name. We have seen some of Earth's nations such as Burkina Faso, Myanmar, Ghana, Iran, and Thailand switch to different names IRL in just a fraction of those 250+ in-game years. Indeed, Dankuk itself was invented in the 3600s to replace the earlier name of Drania, which had itself been replacing Dranland. This nation has been known by a variety of names before that have shifted as the community has interacted with it more in different and evolving ways.

As seen below, I believe I present enough community engagement and historical precedent to justify the shift from Dankuk to Baeguk in common usage.

Support for the name before my RP:
11 August 3597
2 May 3678
November 3856
April 4172
IRL November 4, 2017 - No given in-game date
In addition there was a newspaper called the Baeguk Ilbo that printed about 3 articles.

Evidence of the name's usage from other nations:
August 5327
August 5348
January 5349
February 9 5351
November 5352
December 26 5368
August 5378
January 13 2024 - No given in-game date
February 2 2024 - No given in-game date
May 3 5442
August 5 5444
January 4 5489
August 18 5508
January 7 5511
June 11 5538
February 10 5548
August 5548
July 10 5552

If this CP is approved I would request that the nation's in-game name be changed from
Kingdom of Great Bae (Dankuk) - > Kingdom of Great Baeguk (Baeguk)

Other changes
I have cut the history section under the advice of previous Mods, who suggested that the current description is too long and overbearing.

I have also significantly downsized the prevalence of Daenism in Baeguk as I believe it to be a religion in decline (see this post for a recent commentary). To my knowledge the last truly extensive RP involving the religion was that of the Spiritual Center in the 51st century (even though I think this RP is canon they didn't leave any forum posts). It has since been half a millennium. While other religions like Abjurant Hosians, Shamanists, and Draniano Hosians have shown growth or at least signs of a continued presence there has been little to no organization or publicly present RP involving Daenists. I believe it's safe to say that Daenism has significantly declined in Baeguk.

This has been paired with the separation of the Draniano Church with the Aurorian Church, and the revival of Shamanism that has gradually permeated Baeguk.

The new cultural protocol request by iltamzumra on the old forums has been approved. We apologise for the delay, we blame the forum move.

Baeguk will also be treated as the more common name for Dankuk.
