Anyways, I'm going to have to disagree with your interpretation, Mr. Yankees. You are making the assumption that, since the Trigunian opposition is completely inactive from the forums, if they do not consent and do not post no civil war is happening. I disagree. The wars and events on the forums are entirely RP constructs that have no bearing on the game mechanics. Therefore, actions can be assumed to be taking place even if only one person posts one side, provided those opposing them never explicitly come onto the forums and say that it is not happening. If someone explicitly denies their consent, than the event can be assumed not to have happened. By being inactive, the Trigunian opposition simply is effectively abstaining on the actions taken on the forum, which ultimately makes no difference because nothing that happens on the forum has any bearing on the game itself. If George wants to intervene for the Trigunian opposition and as such RPs for the Trigunian opposition, I do not see anything majorly wrong with that, so long as the Trigunian opposition being represented does not explicitly voice their lack of consent to the idea. Again, since everything on the forums is essentially irrelevant to the game itself, I do not see why we should stop activity on the forums do to inactivity of some players who are in the game but not on the forum. If the outcomes of wars and so forth on the forum affected the game, than obviously I would feel differently, but at present I think the highest goal the forum can pursue is high-class RP. I'm thus going to weigh in on the side of c'est la vie and say let them get on with their make-believe war without all the goddamn finger-wagging.
Jethro, I think you are making an assumption yourself. There is no evidence to indicate what they feel towards this "civil war." You say that if they don't come to the forums, they are "abstaining." Yes, that's a possibility. The other possibility is that they either don't want it, in which case they ignore it, or they simply don't know about it. So, it could go both ways. Your interpretation is as good as mine.
I don't know what has happened to people lately that they just want to start wars constantly, mainly without consent.
To George and the others: If you feel that I am trying to stop you, I can't change your feelings. Not interested in doing so either. It's illogical to fight a civil war with only one side potentially even knowing the existence of a civil war. Aside from that, it has gotten to the point in this game where if you try to RP something, there is always going to be an alliance trying to intervene or fight you, ect. That's just how it is. I don't like it any more than you do but that's just the way it works. That's the price we paid for forming military alliances such as the GPO, NATO, the Axis, and heck even Nova Terra.
Remember, no one is stopping you from doing anything. At least, I am not.
