REBEL LEADER DISAPPEARS. SUPPORTERS SEEMINGLY GONE WITH HIM.

Former New Front Alliance leader and attempted revolutionary instigator Ethan Dawkins has disappeared from Rutanian Soil. His reported half million strong armed force of civilian loyalists has also disappeared, with suspicions suggesting they plan to return.

"From what I understand the idiot and his dwindling friends hid in the back of trucks and set up base somewhere on the continent. He plans to relaunch and eventually make his way back. I have no doubt he won't stop until every last one of the fools he leads is dead at his hands." reported former NFA parliamentarian Martin Combet.

As locals keep their eyes out for traces of the underground NFA figurehead, former members of the party have retired quietly from public life for now. The most senior members indicate that a return to politics was likely in the future, though certainly not under the NFA banner. Rumours suggest once Dawkins is finally ushered from stage Combet will form a new political alliance, with the practical members of the NFA, who feel disgust at what it became.

Leonard Overman Murdered

Chaos dominated Sumner Street this morning as the corpse of Leonard Overman was hauled out of the RSL headquarters in Hayek. His body was discovered by his secretary when she entered his office to begin work. She promptly alerted the authorities and was sent home after a brief query once they arrived; she was debilitated by the incident. Mr Overman's body was found lying in a pool of blood in the middle of his office, and save the pool of blood and Mr Overman's corpse, nothing was out of place. Several stab wounds were found on Mr Overman's chest, arms and back; whether he died of these wounds is yet to be determined by the coroner.

Mr Overman was reported to have had guests last evening, but nobody knew who those guests were.

For the past few weeks an intrigue surrounded the Mr Overman regarding his push for reform in the RSL. Mr Overman wanted to remove racial hygiene from the party platform and gathered strong opposition in the attempt. These antagonists are now being investigated--a great blow to the party's reputation as most of the suspects are high-ranking RSL leaders.

Investigators also speculated that Mr Overman's murderer could have been an assassin hired by the NFA or some such other political rival, but this is widely agreed to be unlikely for the murder was a mess. Detective David Kohl, however, disagrees. Det Kohl maintains that while the murder was savage and unprofessional, the scene of the crime was faultless. The murder, he said, could have been staged. Det Kohl is in charge of the investigation.

Following the tragedy, Elizabeth Blackburn was installed as acting chairman of the RSL. The RSL leadership board will vote for a successor as soon as the fiasco subsides.

Mr Anthony Overman, the dead man's brother, was unavailable for comment.

President Eltonbrand addresses Parliament on Beluzia's Threats

President Eltonbrand today addresses the Rutanian Parliament on rumours and reports of threats made by the leader of Beluzia, Ethan Dawkins, to Rutania.

"Fellow Representatives of the Rutanian people,

I come before you with grave news, the leader of the New Front Alliance, Ethan Dawkins, the current Leader of the Nation of Beluzia has sent me the following message notifying of his intent to attack Rutania with Beluzian forces.

"Rutanian Traitor,

We send word that our new glorious nation shall most certainly declare war on your treacherous Government if you do not meet our demands. As we have been elected Leader of our new nation, the National State of Beluzia, we warn you that we will cross our northern borders into your land with the strongest of forces soon enough. You stole an election and you will pay for it. Rutania is ours. You are warned. Our demands will follow in due course.

Quite how his new nation can be his, and Rutania his. Quite why Beluzia elected him I do not know. But we must ready a Council of War, we must reinforce the defences of Delvar and we must work together to secure our nation, our borders, and our people."

President Eltonbrand issued a rallying cry amongst Parliamentarians and called on the Rutanian people to remain steadfast and trust the Government to ensure the safety and security of Rutania against the Beluzian menace. Rutania and Beluzia have been at loggerheads before, several centuries ago, when Beluzia threatened Rutania under the leadership of Emperor Zog. The impasse got to such a stage that the Social Liberal Party of Beluzia fled for Rutania with thousands of supporters.

Weber a success

Mr Graham Weber lost the presidential elections, but that was no source of dismay for RSL supporters; he at least made it to second round--a phenomenon rarely encountered by the party. Mr Weber's utter newness to the national stage of Rutanian politics paint the event as even more of a success. This success, however, is of no comfort to Mr Weber who, at this very moment is being considered for replacement. The RSL leadership board, although still dominated by liberals, has reduced its liberal inclinations; the board members found Mr Weber unfit to represent the RSL.

"Mr Graham Weber is undeniably affable and friendly; however, those are not the qualities we look for in an RSL candidate. The RSL was formed to fight for principles, not to sell itself to the elecorate. If unbending dedication for the good of this nation will cost us allies, so be it. Our job is to make the Rutanian people aware, to shake them from apathy and ignorance. Friendliness is unnecessary for that mission," said Ms Elizabeth Blackburn, the party's new chairman. "We instead are looking for a man resolute and candid, a man who will say what is needed when it is needed and not shirk, in short, an RSL man. Mr Weber is not this kind man. He is weak-willed compromiser."

When asked if she feels the same about the late Leonard Overman, Ms Blackburn replied, " I refuse comment out of respect for his brother."

Also, the RSL has lost its grip on the province of Ardinia and surprisingly gained the favour of Khodor.

Progress in murder case

Olaf McGregor, an immigrant from Trigunia, was apprehended this afternoon after a strand of his hair was found near the late Mr Leonard Overman's office safe. Mr Overman's secretary testified that several papers were missing; these papers subsequently were found in Mr McGregor's flat. Mr Overman's secretary also professed to having seen Mr McGregor at least twice in the office. The police is currently preoccupied with obtaining Mr McGregor's motive for murdering Mr Overman.

Blackburn laughs at Dawkins's threat

Laughter was Reginald Blackburn's reaction to Ethan Dawkin's threat of war.

After humiliating himself out of Rutania, Ethan Dawkins's vile personage again resurfaced in Rutanian affairs; in the form of Beluzian Leader of the Nation, Dawkins threatened war against Rutania despite not having majority enough to make such a event even remotely possible. Beluzians must be outraged to have as leader someone who will sacrifice their nation in order to nurse his own wounded ego. Indeed, they must be furious that, despite being a democracy, they have as leader someone who regards them as nothing more than his own private army, mere cannon fodder in his quest for vengeance--a vengeance motivated more by vanity than actual wrong. If there's anything worse than a war, it is a war for the wrong reasons, and Ethan Dawkin's presumptive war hits the mark whichever angle one looks at it, truth or official.

Let us analyse further Ethan Dawkins's threat. There is simply no way he can substantiate it even if his party manages to seize power in Beluzia. No country will ally itself to Ethan Dawkins's regime: his grounds for war are asinine and vile. No country would send its son and daughter's to die for Ethan Dawkins's ego. Furthermore, such an unjustified war will surely arouse Terran's sense of justice and soon there will be international actions against him. However, the most important reason why Dawkins threat should cause no alarm is that Ethan Dawkins is an incompetent buffoon.

RUTANIAN TRAITORS SHALL BE DESTROYED

Ethan Dawkins, former President of Rutania and current Leader of Beluzia, has announced that the Rutanian nation will once again come under his rule.

"I will rule over a greater Rutanian nation, Beluzia shall be south Rutania. Once my army storms the capital, nothing will stand in my way. I am coming. They don't know what is about to hit them." said the formerly exiled Leader.

The majority party of Beluzia refused to comment on the rapidly occurring events.

President Gordon: "Regime change is needed ASAP"

Newly elected President John Gordon has made it clear that regime change is needed in Beluzia in order to stop a potential war with the nation. Gordon made that clear during a stop at an event in Delvar where he took questions for an hour. One question was about the situation where he answered:

In my opinion, regime change is needed ASAP. Rutania cannot and will not sit back and let the inflated ego of Mr. Dawkins ruin years of peace between Rutania and Beluzia. I plan on briefing the Parliament in the coming weeks on how to conduct such an operation but make now mistake, as long as I am President I will do everything in my power to ensure that no nation endangers the sovereignty of the Commonwealth.

An immediate nuclear attack on the Northern Rutanian cities was launched. Bozarburg, Karlsdorf, Klausenburg, Spaak and the capital Port Nelson as well as former capital Hayek were hit with the largest and most destructive of the Beluzian nuclear stockpile in the opening moments of the war. Other cities including Newtonia, Wellington and Faradafry were hit with biological weapons with the ability to wipe out entire populations.

As well as this, reports indicate the entire Beluzian armed forces, including the army, navy and airforce, have crossed the border to the North and have begun their attempt at controlling Rutania. Witnesses indicate Delvar has essentially fallen to Beluzian control, stronger defences having not been in place in time.

Military experts have noted that the Beluzian forces seem to be going all out to destroy and control what is left.
